  • Patent number: 4627477
Abstract: A workpiece is rotated by a variable speed motor, and a cutter bit is rotated by a variable speed motor. A carriage is moved along the workpiece by a threaded rod driven by a variable speed motor, and the cutter bit is mounted in the carriage. The carriage extends transversely across the lathe, with one end threadedly engaging the threaded rod, and fed therealong. The carriage is swingable about the threaded rod, to a lower operable position, and in that position it engages a template, and also in that position, the cutter bit engages the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 4623863
Abstract: The polarized, electromagnetic relay includes a magnet frame, relative to conduit rabbets, with angles-off yoke arrangement, which includes two separated, parallel-arranged yokes, as well as a permanent magnet that lies therebetween and between anchor plates. The two yokes are L-shaped and formed exactly identical, whereby their core shanks stretch over the entire length of the exciter coil, and lie next to each other in the region of the exciter coil. Thereby a mechanically and electrically absolutely symmetrical magnet frame results, whose asymmetry is compensated by losses arising from the air gap. Through the use of individual yokes there ensues a simple assembly in the spring jack, which functions as holding element for all of the parts.

  • Patent number: 4611567
Abstract: A vaporizer unit has an enclosing casing including a plurality of tubes therein, defining a fuel passage therethrough, including the tubes. The tubes have coiled wire screen therein. An auxiliary carburetor is positioned at the inlet end of the fuel passage, and an outlet passage leads to the main carburetor of the automobile. The casing also defines an exhaust passage therethrough, transversely of the fuel passage, providing heat transfer between the exhaust gases and the tubes. The temperature of the resulting vaporized fuel is sensed for varying the flow of the exhaust gases and thereby controlling the temperature of the vaporized fuel, which is maintained at 250.degree. F. to 260.degree. F. An electric crystal is used for breaking down the heavy ends of the fuel. The rate of flow of air to the main carburetor is varied for correspondingly varying the rate of intake of vaporized fuel from the vaporizer unit.

  • Patent number: 4598810
Abstract: A vending unit includes a plurality of cubicles each holding a TV film, dispensed in response to the manipulation by an identified patron. The patron has an identification code number, which upon being entered as information into the vending unit, energizes a computer unit and conditions the apparatus for vending. This information may be entered by pushbuttons or using an ID card. A monetary coin or money bill, or token, is inserted and then a film is dispensed in response to depression of a selection button by the patron. The apparatus includes a record of transactions by each patron, according to his ID code number, which shows films taken out, and their return, and a security deposit credit, and sets off the dispensed films against that deposit credit, and re-establishes the deposit credit upon return of the film. Upon entering the ID information, instructions are given to the patron by the computer, visually or audibly, for successive steps to be taken following each previous step.

  • Patent number: 4598211
Abstract: Float/weights are positioned in the tidal water, arranged to rise and fall with the tides. A power unit including a cylinder and piston is arranged with the piston connected with the float/weights, and draws water into it upon the float/weights rising and forcing it into a storage unit upon the float/weights dropping. The storage unit includes a cylinder and a weighted piston. After the storage unit is filled, the water is let out to drive a water turbine and generator. The apparatus may use a closed circuit for the water, or an open circuit and draw it directly from the sea and return it to the sea. In the use of a closed circuit, instead of sea water, the apparatus may use fresh water, or oil. The apparatus is also adapted to use compressed gas instead of liquid.

  • Patent number: 4595869
Abstract: In a grinder, the table carrying the workpiece to be ground reciprocates to carry it past a grinding wheel. The table moves armatures oppositely into and out of respective coils, inducting voltage therein for driving the reversible motor that moves the table. Remote coils with manually settable armatures therein oppose the first coils for determining the range of movement of the table. A control circuit includes right and left halves corresponding to the directions of movement of the table. Right and left SCR's control the current from first coils to the drive motor, transistors control the gating current to the SCR's; triacs control the current from the transistors, and other triacs control the current from the main source to the drive motor.

  • Patent number: 4590877
Abstract: The machine includes a stationary bridge frame having a sewing head mounted thereon, an upper carriage which carries the quilt, and a lower carriage. The lower carriage rides on track rails on the floor running in one direction, and the upper carriage rides on track rails on the lower carriage running in transverse direction. A drive unit is mounted on the upper carriage and has a drive wheel engaging the floor. The drive is produced by running the drive wheel, and rotating the drive unit about a vertical axis, to trace out a predesigned pattern. The drive wheel can be driven forward, stopped, and reversed. The drive wheel is driven a constant speed, and different kinds of elements of the pattern are produced by turning the drive unit a lesser or greater amount about its vertical axis. A computer unit is utilized, and instructions entered thereinto to turn the drive unit about is vertical axis at predetermined points.

  • Patent number: 4588166
Abstract: A winch includes a spindle plate having a plurality of pins fixed thereon, the pins forming the core of the winch and the line of the trap is wound on the pins. An ejector plate is axially slidable for ejecting the wound line from the pins into the water. The space between the pins forms a basket in which the buoy is put in the winding-in step, this securing the line to the pins for the winding. The ejection step is produced by a slidable ejection shaft carrying the ejection plate, and driven by a motor. An advancing shaft is carried by and within the ejection shaft, and at the final movement of the ejection shaft, the advancing shaft ejects the buoy clear of the line coil. The advancing shaft is moved relative to the ejection shaft, by a cam carried by the ejection shaft and engaging a fixed trip unit.
