Abstract: A guyline tensioner for communication towers is provided wherein the towers are of the type having a plurality of nested sections which are raised and lowered by a telescoping action. The device of the present invention provides a guying means so that as the tower is raised or lowered, a single operator can maintain equal tension on all of the guys at the same time.

Abstract: An intrusion detector is provided having transmission and receiving cables wherein the cables are leaky from an RF standpoint so that a portion of the RF energy from the transmission cable escapes and is picked up on the receiving cable. Both sine and cosine signals are detected. The cables can be buried.

Abstract: A flexible vault structure is provided which includes a plurality of stressed poles each of which poles is composed of two or more short rod like members held together by connector elements.

Abstract: An interconnection device is provided for multiple conductor cables wherein one of the cables has conductors terminating in a plurality of pins while the other cable has conductors terminating in a series of sockets whereby the pins may be placed in any of the sockets to alter the connections from one end of the cable to the other. The device of the present invention is particularly suitable for use in connecting computers to peripheral equipment.

Abstract: A feed water check valve of the swing type is provided with a soft seal backup to the main element to ensure sealing of the valve plug so that no leakage occurs during testing or when full closure is required as in an emergency.

Abstract: A projection aligner is provided wherein anamorphic metric distortion can be introduced in the projection image by employing a bending mirror that makes a slight change in magnification along one axis of the image. In one embodiment of the invention a pneumatic bending mechanism is employed and in another embodiment, a mechanical system is employed.

Abstract: An improved press loader is disclosed having two reciprocating tables wherein one table is unloaded and loaded while the press is acting upon the other table and the position of the tables is then reversed for a repetition of the operation. Each table rolls on its own set of rails and the rails are solid, extending from the front to the back of the press.

Abstract: The quality of snap bean seed stock is improved by reducing the number of stringed or hard-point bean plants by selecting out seed which have their placenta attached. This can be done by hand-picking.

Abstract: A smoking pipe in the form of a round or oval torus is provided having a bowl for the reception of a substance to be smoked at one end and a mouth hole at the opposite end with smoke passages leading from said bowl to said mouth hole on both sides of the torus.

Abstract: A mechanism is provided for filling a valved paper bag. Such bags are well-known in the art and include a valve which, upon filling of the bag, closes automatically to seal the contents of the bag. Following filling of the bag, it is removed and replaced with an empty bag. Heretofore this removal has been accomplished by an operator removing by hand the bag from a filling nozzle to a place for removal. Thus the operator must lift many hundreds of pounds in the course of a working day. In accordance with this invention, a bag is positioned, filled and then is ejected automatically without any lifting of a filled bag by the operator.
