  • Patent number: 4257037
Abstract: A detector and indicator for burglar alarms is provided wherein passive resonators, each tuned to a different frequency, are employed across each of the normally closed series switches of the burglar alarm. An alternating current generator is connected to the series line and tuned progressively to the frequency of each of the passive resonators. If an open circuit occurs across any of the resonators, a detector circuit detects the high impedance which results and actuates an indicator circuit wherein the indicator is selected for the frequency of the resonator of a particular location. Even if a plurality of switches are open, the selection circuit will be activated for the particular locations of the open switches.

  • Patent number: 4254413
Abstract: An improvement in Instrusion Alarms of the type wherein a field wire acts as a transmitting antenna to produce an electric field and wherein a sense antenna is placed in the vicinity of the field wire to detect an intruder wherein at least one pair of field wires are employed at the extremities of a vertical configuration with sense wires between the field wires. The movement of a large object in the vicinity of such a system produces an equal perturbation on both of the sense wires so that no alarm is set off while an actual intrusion will cause a difference which is detected and utilized to provide an alarm system which is less susceptible to false alarms than the usual alarm systems.

  • Patent number: 4249519
Abstract: A solar collector of generally improved design is provided wherein the collector element comprises a flat absorber plate formed of two sheets of a conductive metal treated in a bonding process under heat and pressure with portions of the sheets spaced in such a way as to provide a sinuous passage from one end of the collector to the other with flat portions of the plate between said passages. The collector has a double glazing over the absorber plate to provide an air space between the sheets of glass and between the glazing and the absorber plate. A feature of the invention is in the fabrication of the collector utilizing novel metal extruded frame members combined with wood frame members. This combination provides an effective means for sealing the elements against the weather and for holding the various elements in correct alignment as well as resisting loads of snow or sleet.

  • Patent number: 4227256
Abstract: An RF amplifier stage of an AM broadcast tuner is disclosed wherein, depending upon the power level of the received input signal, said input signal is amplified by a high gain radio frequency amplifier, or by a low gain radio frequency amplifier, or by a combination of both the high and low gain radio frequency amplifiers at intermediate levels. This system provides wide dynamic range and low distortion in that it prevents amplifier saturation and reduces intermodulation product signal levels.
