  • Patent number: 7436317
Abstract: An electric device comprising a plurality of operating elements which can be operated by a user. Said device is associated with a status display device, and it also comprises a control logic unit which is coupled to the operating elements in order to detect user operations and which is adjusted. Furthermore, the electric device has an operational state which corresponds to the user operations which are to be adjusted. In a first state, the control logic unit displaces the status display of each operational element, from which it is able to process a user operation, according to an adjusted operational state, and in a second state, said unit displaces the status display of each operational element, whereby it is not possible to process a user operation, according to an adjusted operational state.

  • Patent number: 7431037
Abstract: A method for washing and drying items in a dishwasher and a dishwasher are provided. After the door of the dishwasher has been closed, a washing program and then a drying program are executed. In response to both an interruption of the drying program resulting in the dishwasher no longer running its drying program and a thereafter following restoration of execution of the drying program, a parameter value is measured and the drying program is resumed if there is no predetermined deviation from a nominal value and, on the other hand, a fresh cycle of a washing program and a drying program is initiated in the event of a predetermined deviation.

  • Patent number: 7399936
Abstract: An operating device for a household appliance is formed with an aperture, and an operating element is guided through an assembly hole in the aperture. A plurality of light sources in the operating element, indicate the operational state of the household appliance. The information content is increased with the plurality of light sources that indicate at least two mutually different operational states of the household appliance.

  • Patent number: 7397237
Abstract: Device for determining the position of the rotor in an electric motor comprises a detector, which is mounted on the electric motor and which is sensitive to the passage of the rotor through a reference position, and comprises a phase-locking loop, which can be synchronized with the output signal of the detector and which furnishes an output signal representative of the position of the rotor. The moments when the rotor passes through a reference position are detected, the period of the oscillator is adapted in such a manner that the reference position passages occur at a predetermined phase of the oscillator, and the position of the rotor is derived from the oscillation of the oscillator between the reference position passages.

  • Patent number: 7395825
Abstract: A simple and cost-effective method is provided, according to which a positive temperature component (PTC) element directly controls the element made of a shape memory alloy. A simple and cost effective device for performing the method has a PTC element series-connected upstream from the element made of a shape memory alloy, in the electric circuit for the element made of a shape memory alloy.

  • Patent number: 7372233
Abstract: A method is provided for operating a converter circuit, in particular a pulse-width modulated frequency converter circuit having a DC voltage intermediate circuit, which controls two or more winding sections of a polyphase dynamo-electrical machine, in particular a three-phase asynchronous motor for a laundry appliance. The method determines one or more parameters of the dynamo-electrical machine, before a rotating field is produced in the dynamo-electrical machine by the converter circuit. The parameters can be used to deduce a variant of the dynamo-electrical machine, and to select open-loop and closed-loop control parameters which are associated with the variant. Likewise, the method allows possible machine faults to be determined by using the parameters.
