  • Patent number: 8281591
Abstract: A self contained geothermal generator includes a boiler, a turbine compartment, an electricity generator, a condenser and an electric cable. The condenser includes a distributor chamber, a peripheral chamber and plurality of tubes disposed between the chambers. The peripheral chamber of the condenser surrounds and cools turbine, elective generator and selector of the condenser departments. The condenser cools and converts exhausted steam back in liquid state and returns it back into boiler for reheating. In a method of using the geothermal generator, water contained within the boiler is converted to high-pressure, super heated steam due to heat from hot rocks contained within a pre-drilled well below the Earth's surface. The steam is used to produce electric energy which is transported up to the ground surface by the electric cable. A plurality of geothermal generators may be used in a “binary” power plant through system of several heat exchangers.

  • Patent number: 8286209
Abstract: A cable television (CATV) entry adapter interfaces to a CATV network and serves as a hub in a Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) network. MoCA signals are bypassed around the CATV communication paths within the entry adapter to maintain adequate signal strength and to allow a passive port of the entry adapter to be used as part of the MoCA network. MoCA signals are suppressed from exiting the CATV entry adapter onto the CATV network.

  • Patent number: 8286186
Abstract: A system and associated method for interfacing between caller applications and a shared service module. Upon receiving a request for a transaction, the shared service module creates a separate data structure per request from a caller application and configures a caller identifier to uniquely identify the caller application. The separate data structure per request can be extended by the shared service module with additional attributes that may be used, without impacting the service application data model, in the request to support servicing the request. The shared service module generates a generic service document to return the result after servicing the request to the caller application.

  • Patent number: 8284249
Abstract: A method for real time processing of a sequence of video frames. The video frames are received in synchronization with a recording of the video frames in real time for triggering an alert. The method is implemented by execution of program code on a processor of a computer system. Each frame includes a two-dimensional array of pixels and a frame-dependent color intensity at each pixel. An algorithm determines whether a static object in a current frame of the video frames is an abandoned object or a removed object. The determined status, the current frame time, the static region, and the static object are stored in a data storage medium of the computer system. An alarm is triggered in response to satisfaction of requirements that include a persistence requirement, a non-persistence duration requirement, and a persistence duration requirement.

  • Patent number: 8283498
Abstract: Oxidative desulfurization (ODS) is an attractive alternative to hydrodesulfurization (HDS) technology due to its lower energy requirement for the removal of refractory sulfur species, such as dibenzothiophene (DBT), from heavier petroleum streams. Diesel containing DBT may be oxidized using a heterogeneous titanium(IV) catalyst and organohydroperoxide oxidant, such as tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP), cumyl hydroperoxide (CHP) and/or ethylbenzene hydroperoxide (EBHP), which proves effective for the selective oxidation and removal of refractory sulfur compounds from diesel fuel.

  • Patent number: 8276803
Abstract: A fixing frame and an assembled fixing device printing solder paste on a printed circuit board improve an assembly process, cut production costs, and save storage space. The fixing frame has a plurality of fixing portions and a motor unit. The fixing portions are connected to each other to define a hollowed-out planar region. The motor unit generates a plurality of pulling forces by means of mechanical transmission. The assembled fixing device includes a fixing frame and a stencil. The stencil has a solder paste printing region and a plurality of fixing regions. The edge of the solder paste printing region extends outward to define the fixing regions. The fixing regions are movably fixed to the fixing portions and bear the pulling forces. The solder paste printing region lies within the hollowed-out planar region. The directions of the pulling forces are coplanar with the solder paste printing region.

  • Patent number: 8279337
Abstract: A casing of a webcam improves the hand feel of turning a lens ring. A base of the casing includes a sheath hole having a first connection portion, a first ring-shaped flange formed around an upper side of the lens ring, a second connection portion formed between upper and lower sides of the lens ring, and a second ring-shaped flange formed around the lens ring and abutted against an upper side of the sheath hole and a lower side of the first connection portion, and the first and second ring-shaped flanges of the lens ring are separated from the sheath hole by an interval. A flexible ring is clamped between the first and second connection portions and disposed between the first and second ring-shaped flanges, such that the casing can have a greater manufacturing tolerance to reduce manufacturing costs, and provide a better hand feel of turning the lens ring.
