Abstract: A connector includes a movable conductive element and an elastic body. The connector electrically conducts between opposed external electrodes disposed vertically. The movable conductive element has a pair of rigid contact. And the elastic body deforms elastically to receive the load caused by the movement of the movable conductive element.
Abstract: A method of treating a bodily lumen with a stent including disposing a stent within a bodily lumen in which the stent has a plurality of deformable struts that are substantially circumferentially aligned is described. The deformable struts are configured to selectively deform in a circumferential direction in localized regions in the struts upon application of an outward radial force. The stent is expanded by applying the outward radial force which causes selective deformation of the deformable struts in a localized region in the struts.
Abstract: A needle bearing functioning as a rolling element comprises a uniform-diameter body part and bottom surfaces shaped in flat surfaces. A tapered reduced-diameter part and a chamfered part are interposed between the body part and the bottom surface. A gentle reduction in diameter is first made by the tapered reduced-diameter part, and then a relatively sharp reduction in diameter is made by the chamfered part. Consequently, in the needle bearings adjacent to each other, their tapered reduced-diameter parts are separated from each other.
Abstract: The invention discloses a planarization method for a wafer having a surface layer with a recess, comprises: forming an etching-resist layer on the surface layer to fill the entire recess; etching the etching-resist layer and the surface layer, till the surface layer outside the recess is flush to or lower than the bottom of the recess, the etching speed of the surface layer being higher than that of the etching-resist layer; removing the etching-resist layer; and etching the surface layer to a predetermined depth. The method can avoid concentric ring recesses on the surface of the wafer resulted from a chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) process in the prior art, and can be used to obtain a wafer surface suitable for optical applications.

Abstract: An intravascular stent has a coat comprising a crosslinked amphiphilic polymer and a sparingly water soluble matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor (MMPI). Preferably the polymer is formed from 2-methacryloyloxy-2?-ethyltrimethylammonium phosphate inner salt, C4-18 alkyl methacrylate and reactive and/or crosslinking monomer and the MMPI is a hydroxamic acid, more preferably batimastat. Preclinical and clinical results are reported, showing good luminal areas and reduced intimal thickening.

Abstract: A bioabsorbable stent including a stent scaffolding formed from polymer layers with different degradation rates is disclosed. The polymer layers include an abluminal layer, a luminal layer, and optionally one or more middle layers. A degradation rate of the layers increases from the luminal layer to the abluminal layer.
Abstract: An image reading device to read an image carried on a document, including: an image reading section to read an image carried on a document; a polygonal member, mounted to face the image reading section, and spaced from the image reading section at a predetermined distance, the polygonal member includes a document feeding flat surface which faces the image reading section when the document is fed thereon, a white flat surface, and a black flat surface; a light source to emit light rays onto the image carried on the document, and onto the polygonal member when the document is not fed; and a control section to control an amount of the light rays emitted from the light source; wherein the control section corrects an amount of light rays concerning the white color and the black color, based on the amount of the light rays read by the image reading section.

Abstract: A vehicle lighting device is provided to maintain a viewability of light even when seen from a diagonal direction having a predetermined angle to an irradiation direction of the lighting device. The vehicle lighting device includes a board, which includes an array of a plurality of light sources. The vehicle lighting device also includes wall portions that bulge in an irradiation direction of the light sources from edge surfaces of the board. The wall portions also form a polygon surrounding the board. At least one of the wall portions includes a reflective surface on a side facing the light sources.
Abstract: A system and method include a base station configured to provide centralized data transmission scheduling for at least one relay operatively connected to the base station configured to provide centralized data transmission scheduling for at least one relay operatively connected to the base station in a point-to-point connection and configured to provide centralized data transmission scheduling for at least one mobile station operatively connected to the relay in a point-to-multipoint connection. The method efficiently reports ACKs/NAKs for a centralized scheduler wireless system that uses tunneling for data transmission and, in order to reduce a usage of bandwidth for reporting. The system and method also perform an aggregation via coding of ACK/NAK channels.

Abstract: An order processing system includes an order structure in which an order includes multiple objects representing items being purchased, shipping methods, payment parameters, and other parts of an order. The order can include one or more of each of the types of objects. Items in the order can be divided among shipping methods and payment mechanisms using a relationship model to describe the relationships between the different types of objects. Shipping methods and payment mechanisms also can be related. The order may be represented as an order object, which represents the order and can be related to particular shipping methods and payment mechanisms. Relationship objects describe the relationships between objects. Relationship objects can use different relationship types to characterize the extent of the specified relationship.
