  • Patent number: 8054796
Abstract: A shared uplink acknowledgment (ACK) channel can be communicated to the payload recipient. The shared uplink ACK channel information can be communicated in the payload message or in a broadcast control channel. Reserving a dedicated time-frequency chunk for these short ACK messages and multiplexing different users to the same time slot with spreading codes having good cross-correlation properties can be used to accomplish such a shared uplink ACK channel.

  • Patent number: 8051405
Abstract: A system and method for build script generation in a software development environment. An extensible script generator framework allows for one or more script generators to be plugged into the framework. When the framework is subsequently invoked to build a software project or application, each of the plugged-in generators can be evaluated to see if one or more generators should be applied to that project or application. The applicable generators are then used during the build process to automatically generate a build script. In some embodiments, a command line interface allows the generator framework to be invoked outside of the IDE. Additionally, in some embodiments, the framework allows for the plugin of one or more customizers that can be used to further customize or tweak the build script.

  • Patent number: 8049187
Abstract: The present invention provides a charged particle beam irradiating apparatus capable of irradiating a charged particle beam using both a wobbler method and a scanning method. A charged particle beam irradiating apparatus includes: scanning electromagnets that scan a charged particle beam; a wobbler irradiation unit that irradiates the charged particle beam using a wobbler method; a scanning irradiation unit that irradiates the charged particle beam using a scanning method; and a control unit that controls the wobbler irradiation unit and the scanning irradiation unit. In the charged particle beam irradiating apparatus, the control unit operates one of the wobbler irradiation unit and the scanning irradiation unit, and controls the other irradiation unit to be in a withdrawn state so as not to hinder the irradiation of the charged particle beam.

  • Patent number: 8048975
Abstract: Biocompatible polymers are manufactured to include an amino acid mimetic monomer and one or more hydrophobic acrylate monomers. The amino acid mimetic monomers are selected to mimic the side chain of the amino acids asparagine or glutamine. The amino acid mimetic monomer can be a methacryloyl or acryloyl derivative of 2-hydroxyacetamide, 3-hydroxypropionamide, alaninamide, lactamide, or glycinamide. These amide functional groups offer the advantage of moderate hydrophilicity with little chemical reactivity. The amino acid mimetic monomer can be copolymerized with one or more hydrophobic acrylate monomers to obtain desired coating properties.

  • Patent number: 8045488
Abstract: Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) data is obtained via network switch (SNMP) queries to enhance identification of switch-to-switch links in Layer-2 mapping. In particular, by analyzing the STP data, ambiguity in determining switch uplink ports may be reduced. Specifically, the STP data can be used in conjunction with other topography data to provide Layer-2 connectivity for nodes on a network topology. Layer-2 address mapping tables are collected from a topology mapping, and STP data is collected, along with address translation tables (ARP) tables. Using this information, switches are identified using Layer-2 address tables. The STP data can be correlated by comparing data in switches, identifying switch ports directly connected to other switch ports, and eliminating direct switch-to-switch port connections from consideration for further Layer-2 node mappings.

  • Patent number: 8045486
Abstract: Active directory (AD) Domain Controllers (DC) discovery includes determining the topology of the network, such as the nodes and connections in the network. For example, synthetic data may be transferred within the network and traced to determine the presence and relationships of the various network components. Alternatively, other mapping techniques are based upon mapping a known set of nodes to determine the relationship of the nodes. Next, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) commands are forwarded to the various nodes to identify the AD DC within a range of IP addresses discovered during the mapping of to the topology of the network.
