Abstract: The ammunition features a chamber (1b) having substantially along its full length a constant and uniform internal diameter corresponding to the diameter of a cartridge (2), in order to avoid building up high pressure, the said cartridge (2) being filled with pyroxylin powder and fitted with a primer (3) overcharged with a fulminating compound.
Abstract: A clamp-on magnetic water treatment device for minimizing hard precipitate scale and lime deposit in a fluid supply, especially a domestic water system, has a magnet array having two sections which clamp together over a non-ferromagnetic section of conduit in the water system. The array of magnets defines at least two pairs of magnetic poles of opposite polarity across the flow path for the water, whereby a magnetic field is produced defining flux lines directly perpendicular to the flow path, and the magnets in the array attract one another across the flow path. The magnets in the array also define magnetic poles of opposite polarity proceeding downstream along the flow path. However, the individual magnets in the array are all arranged such that their poles are directed toward and away from the conduit, and not longitudinally along the flow path. In this manner, the maximum field strength is obtained in a clamp-on device.
Abstract: In a discharging apparatus (1) for in particular a single use, the complete pump stroke (11) to be performed only once is subdivided into at least two partial strokes (12,13) by a limiting device (24) which, for the end of each partial stroke, has a stop (25) to be overcome in the manner of a resilient detent. All parts of the limiting device (24) are located in such a way that the guidance of pump piston (6) on thrust piston pump (4) on the piston running path (7) is in no way impaired. At the end of the last partial stroke (13) the pump cylinder (5) mountable as a separate vessel on pump piston (6) is positively locked with respect to the remaining discharging apparatus (1) by a removal preventing means (40), so that the interior of pump cylinder (5) is no longer accessible.
Abstract: A high-pressure, high-temperature gate valve which uses a flat faced gate seating on a flat and preferably interchangeable seat, the gate having a wedge-shape on the upstream side which assists in forcing the seating surfaces together which is highly desirable in high-pressure conditions. The inlet and outlet ports are completely covered in the closed position which enables the valve to withstand extreme pressures. The gate valve further includes a valve stem extending through said chamber and said body having a threaded lower end cooperating with a threaded recess in said gate, said stem being axially rotatable in a bearing means in said body to raise and lower said gate between said open and closed positions, said bearing means including a stuffing box, a lower seat and an upper seat through which said stem extends, said stem including an integral collar located between said seats. The upper seat is provided by the stuffing box.
Abstract: A vacuum-tight and pressure-tight closed storage space in a container is constructionally combined with a thrust piston pump projecting thereinto and a drag piston slidably guided therein and in the initial position of the thrust piston pump is hermetically sealed by an exhaust valve mechanically closed in forcibly controlled manner. The drag piston is adapted to the thrust piston pump in such a way that the storage space can be emptied substantially free with the thrust piston pump.
Abstract: This panel is outstanding in that each panel is made up of a plate (1) of insulating material inserted during moulding between two layers of cement (2) and (3) of different density and thickness, the transversal faces of the end of each panel being fitted in combination in order to enable their axial alignment positioning or angular positioning at 90.degree. while being fitted with fixing components apt to provide their assembly into position, the said panels being also designed in order to cooperate and be centered with a bottom plate and/or plate acting as a cover.
Abstract: A height and tilt adjustable wheelchair support has a stationary base (30) with a main support leg (38) thereon. A platform (50) receives a wheelchair (20) and the platform (50) is connected to the main support leg (38) via a chassis (70), vertically movable via a length extendable cylinder (78) connected between the base (30) and the chassis (70). A second length-adjustable cylinder (88) rotates the wheelchair supporting platform (50) relative to the chassis (70) around a pivot (92) such that the wheelchair (20) can be raised, lowered, or tilted, via independent controls.
Abstract: An automatic derailleur shifter is disclosed which includes a hollow cylinder body and a piston rod movable within the cylinder. The piston rod carries a dual element piston within the cylinder body in a manner to permit substantially unrestricted fluid flow through the piston when the piston rod is moved in a first, upward direction and a greatly restricted fluid flow when the piston rod is moved in the second downward direction. A first, fixed piston element is fabricated of diameter less than the inner diameter of the cylinder to allow unrestricted fluid flow thereabout. A second, movable piston element is provided and below the fixed piston element includes a flared skirt for sliding, sealing engagement between the movable piston element and the cylinder. A small, restricted longitudinal channel is provided through the fixed piston element which terminates at its lower end at a circular channel.
Abstract: An axial actuator wherein an output rod is controlled axially by a recirculating-ball screw-nut screw coupling, the screw of which is formed on the rod, and the nut screw of which is supported in rotary and axially-fixed manner on a support and rotated in relation to the same by a motor; the nut screw constituting the intermediate ring of a double thrust bearing mounted, via the interposition of a flexible support, between two opposite surfaces on the support.
Abstract: A crib structure for a child includes a support surface for the child. A plurality of side walls are operatively connected to the support surface. At least one of the side walls includes a door opening and at least one door. The door is laterally slidable substantially in the direction to and from an adjacent side wall, such that the child can be quietly and easily placed into and taken the crib through the door opening without substantial bending or reaching. The sidewalls and the support surface define an interior space therebetween and an exterior space surrounding the sidewalls. At least one of the side walls is preferably composed of a material which is substantially flexible to forces directed substantially from the interior, and substantially rigid to forces directed substantially from the exterior. Step structure is preferably provided beneath the support surface.
Abstract: For the transportation-storage and assembly stacking of electric hotplates (2), a stacking air has pallet plates (10) to be arranged in superimposed manner in stacking layers and which can be directly stacked in one another for storage and which are in the form of deep drawn plastic plate parts with grid-distributed flat shells (19), which in each case projecting beyond the open side with the cooking surface (4) receive in centering manner the lower part of an electric hotplate (2) and are supported with respect to the cooking surfaces of the adjacent stacking layer by means of a slide preventing means (31), but are otherwise contact-free. Thus, on a support pallet and protected by a packing sleeve it is possible to stack a very large number of hotplates (2) in a stable manner, with the same orientation and therefore having good assembly access.
Abstract: A handset for telephones and the like has electro-acoustical capsules for hearing and speaking, mounted between an upper housing shell and a lower housing shell of the handset. Each of the capsules is connected to the handset cord by a pair of leads received in cutting clamp connections arranged on the rear sides of the hearing and speaking capsules, the opposed housing shells having projections pushing the leads into the cutting clamps. Preferably, the leads are mounted on a foil having openings for the cutting clamps and the projections, and also openings for guide pins, whereby the leads are guided into the cutting clamps when the upper and lower housing shells are brought together on the leads.

Abstract: A discharger, particularly intended for the discharge of flowable media, especially pharmaceutical preparations, has a lock for the discharge head (5) in the form of a pump handle, so that the latter cannot be operated in an accidental or unauthorized manner. For this purpose two release handles (24) are provided which must be simultaneously depressed, after which discharge head (5) can be turned with the other hand, so that locking members (22) of the lock do not jump back into their locking position and instead slide on a sliding surface (27) of discharge head (5) during operation. Following the use of discharger (1), discharge head (5) can be rotated back into a position in which the locking members (22) resiliently spring back into their locking position.
Abstract: A phase switched power controller connects a load to a alternating current source for a proportion of each half cycle selected by the user. A first full wave rectifier is connected to the voltage source and produces an unfiltered full wave rectified output signal varying between zero and a predetermined peak. A low pass filtered full wave rectified signal is preferably obtained from a second full wave rectifier, the filtered voltage and unfiltered voltage being applied as inputs to a voltage comparator, the output of which triggers a timer. The timer determines the phase delay until a further pulse is triggered for activating a triac, applying power to the load during the remainder of each half cycle.
