  • Patent number: 4932301
Abstract: In a cutting mechanism (1), the cutting blade (2) is clamped against the blade support (3) by cam-like clamping members (25) arranged on a common actuating shaft (22). The clamping members (25) can be jointly adjusted by means of an actuating member (33) positioned in readily accessible manner on the front outside (30) of the cutting mechanism (1). In the vicinity of the other end, a longitudinal stop (40) for cutting blade (2) is provided, while on the end of the cutting blade (2) located at actuating member (3) is provided a mounting support (41) for a handle. Thus, even in the case of cutting mechanisms (1) closely juxtaposed in a cutting station, the cutting blade (2) can be replaced and realigned in a very short time.

  • Patent number: 4932846
Abstract: A resilient shaft mounting for a pump includes one or more sets of leaf plates bearing inwardly from an inner surface of a tube and pressing a resilient bushing on a rotatable shaft. Three plates can each be disposed by their ends to press inwardly against a bushing formed by a water lubricated rubber tube operating as an anti-frictional contact element. The plates are larger than the internal diameter of the tube, and are welded together at their ends. Upon placing the plates in the tube, the plates deform inwardly against the tube to accomplish a tight yet resilient mounting.

  • Patent number: 4931621
Abstract: In the case of an electric heater, particularly a radiant heater for glass ceramic hotplates, there are several spirally nested heating resistors, whereof one heating resistor continuously passes through in the central field in such a way that it forms two nested spirals (10, 17) distributed approximately uniformly over the entire heating field, but which are not directly adjacent to one another and instead between their spiral turns (20, 21) is provided at least one spiral turn of a further, spirally wired heating resistor. This makes it possible in simple manner to make the length of said first-mentioned heating resistor much larger, so that it has a very high rated power, but can still be safely laid or wired in the heating field without any risk of local overheating.

  • Patent number: 4931401
Abstract: The disclosure herein describes a bioreactor for the biochemical treatment of liquids containing organic matter. It comprises a container with an inlet for receiving liquid to be treated with at least one horizontal plate to support a bed of microorganism cells which react with the organic matter to form a volatile gas. An aperture is provided in the plate to provide liquid flow communication between upper and lower compartments on either sides of the plate. A blockage element extends over the aperture to prevent the liquid and the microorganism cells from returning through the aperture to the lower compartment. An outlet is provided for releasing the gas from the container while a further outlet is used for releasing treated liquid.

  • Patent number: 4928421
Abstract: A fishhook device includes a standard fishhook having a barb, bend, shank and eye. At least one piece of wire can be attached at one end of the shank of the fishhook, preferably substantially adjacent to the eye. The wire is biased by at least one biasing bend to an extended position wherein the free end is distanced from the shank of the hook, and can be flexed to a position wherein the wire is adjacent and substantially parallel to the shank. A retaining ring is positioned around the wire and the shank to keep the wire in the flexed position, and is the point of attachment for the fishing line. A loop in the wire is preferably provided substantially adjacent to the attached end as a guide for the fishing line. Movement of the hook relative to the fishing line will cause the retaining ring to slide over the wire to release the wire to the extended position, such that swallowing of the hook by the fish will be substantially prevented.

  • Patent number: 4929849
Abstract: A clock generator for extracting a clock signal from a data signal includes a timing recovery circuit operable to produce an output recovered clock which is synchronized with transitions occurring at its input. A circuit gates data transitions to the clock recovery circuit input only during time windows defined in a manner based upon the recovered clock. The time windows are produced by comparing the output of an integrator on the recovered clock signal to a reference. The comparator output resets a D-flip flop, to which the data is applied as a clock, the output of the D-flip flop being connected to the input of the timing recovery circuit.

  • Patent number: 4928395
Abstract: An extensible carpenter's level includes a pair of body members in end-to-end relationship and a pair of extenders mounted in face-to-face relationship on the body members. The extenders are slideably retained in tracks on the body members. The body members have longitudinal slots and the extenders have locking means passing from the extenders through the longitudinal slots on the body members for locking the body members and extenders into relative position. The body members, and preferably also the extenders, have level indicating means thereon, and are separable from the device as a whole for convenient individual use. When assembled, the body members can be slided apart to accommodate a desired length within a span up to about twelve feet, the reference edges of the body members remaining co-linear at any extension length.

  • Patent number: 4925227
Abstract: A coach seat locking mechanism is disclosed which is compatible for use with existing revolving type coach seats. A metallic body having a vertical bore is affixed to one end of the seat lower frame and a locking rod is vertically reciprocal within the bore between an upper, locking position and a lower, unlocked position. A pedal arm having a cam is pivotally affixed to the body and is designed for foot operation form an upper, locking position to a lower, unlocked position. Upon depressing the pedal arm, the locking rod is lowered to its unlocked position and simultaneously, the pedal cam contacts a body affixed extraction arm to transversely move the seat upper frame away from the coach sidewall.
