  • Patent number: 5612689
Abstract: A plurality of finger articulation units that individually mount on finger and thumb nails and together, by selected up and down movement of the fingers and thumbs (ten fingers), serve as an alternate to a keyboard and/or for any human to machine and/or computer interface. Vertical up and down movements of any single one of the ten fingers and various combinations of the fingers is translated into a range of signals recognizable as alpha-numeric numbers, digital signalling, word and picture forms or other symbol forms a user may choose. The individual finger articulation devices are each attached to the ten fingernails by clips securing a unit to each of the ten fingernails whereby movement of a particular finger, up and down is detected. The device on that finger generates a signal passed via interface control to a computer for interpretation by a program to produce a symbol.

  • Patent number: 5586413
Abstract: A hanger for plant pots having an upper hanger hook, a downward interim depending portion with a section laterally displaced from a vertical line from the hanger hook through the area of the center of gravity of a flower pot. The laterally displaced section is so displaced as to be clear of contact with the flower pot supported by a semi ring bottom continuation of an inwardly directed connection section from the laterally displaced section. The hanger may be provided at the upper end with a hanger extension for hanging therefrom various display items with the semi ring bottom acting as a support for the assembly on a supporting surface. In an inverted version of the flower pot device an end extension thereof is shaped for insertion in and support by earth. Another embodiment is formed from a metal tube with a support rope passed therethrough whereby the suspension height of the device is adjustable by the rope being held in a groove in the lower end of the tube.

  • Patent number: 5541495
Abstract: A bi-polar solid state battery switch is provided enabling the DC pulse output of battery reclaimer and charger circuits to be connected to a battery without regard to battery terminal polarity. The battery polarity bias itself determines bias to an conductive state of one of two sets of transistors through the respective resistors, This makes the battery connection conform to the same polarity as the output DC of the reclaimer and charger.

  • Patent number: 5492621
Abstract: Sewage water with entrained solids as an effluent is fed into the trough bottom shaped process tank that is a totally enclosed tank other than for inlets and outlets therefore. The system disposes of water from sewage effluents and also residual solids thereof and is fed sewage to a controlled depth in a tank trough with high temperatures used to sterilize the effluent. A two-speed motor driven mixer driven at low speed continually mixes and blend the sewage effluent at the same time air from a blower is bubbled through the mixture. Heat is added to increase water vapor saturation capability of the air flow through the system. The air/vapor mixture flows through a recuperative heat exchanger supported within the tank above the surface of sewage effluent contained therein, absorbing heat with flow, through a catalyst bed in a chamber with circulation through the heat exchanger and on out an exhaust vent with impurities oxidized and vented with air flow.

  • Patent number: 5304979
Abstract: A solid state computer circuit system is provided that senses the state of the ignition switch, setting a lock out circuit to prevent the car from being started if a hidden switch (or other enabling circuit) is not activated. There is a solid state timing circuit locking out the ignition system automatically after a predetermined time when the ignition switch is turned off (typically thirty seconds). The system is actuated with a hidden switch (or an electronic device like a garage door opener or a digital key pad with an alarm circuit sounding an alarm if the wrong code is input or a foreign item is used in an effort to wrongfully enable the basic system circuit).

  • Patent number: 5301398
Abstract: A primarily plastic cadaver container is molded in the form of caskets, coffins, sarcophagues, mummy shaped containers, etc., produced from primarily plastic and other materials. While all the plastic can be new virgin plastic in most instances it can, advantageously, be reclaimed plastic even chemically contaminated plastic except for some medically contaminated and/or radioactive plastic material. The containers may be clear or opaque and have various designs included and have see through windows making opening of the container containing a body unnecessary, and the containers can be made air tight such that neither air or gas enter or escape a container. Non porous glass sheets or glass matting is used as a liner in a sealed container with a further inner liner of plastic useable to protect the inner surface of the glass sheets or glass matting used thereon.

  • Patent number: 5293105
Abstract: With an automobile having electric power windows a power drive control circuit includes a solid state on-off power solid state device such as a PNP transistor with a moisture content sensor element interconnecting two electrodes of the solid state device (the emitter and base of the PNP transistor). When the moisture content sensor element becomes moistened as by rain falling thereon its electric through path resistance lessens to thereby achieve bias to conductive state for the PNP transistor through conductive state to activate the window motor drive and close any vehicle windows from the open state.

  • Patent number: 5276393
Abstract: A solar powered battery reclaiming and charging circuit is provided having a high frequency section (a bistable multi-vibrator, relaxation blocking bistable multi-vibrator or an oscillator inverter circuit) which is solar powered and output coupled by a close coupled RF transformer to the battery connected output section. The transformer has a secondary winding producing a current-voltage full wave output sharply defined through a two diode rectifying circuit to a multi-frequency 10 KHz to 100 KHz pulse output. The sharp pulse outputs with RF content in the 2-10 megahertz frequency range have specific frequencies equal to natural resonant frequencies of the specific electrolytes used in respective batteries. These resulting high frequency RF output signals in each pulse envelope structure are capable of reclaiming, maintaining and charging batteries that possess a liquid electrolyte or jell electrolyte and are beneficial to dry cell batteries as well in extending battery life.

  • Patent number: 5222893
Abstract: An assemblage of instruments such as in an aircraft instrument panel, either actually in an aircraft or training simulator pictured in various states of activation, are positioned behind a selectively programmed viewing device. Various individual instruments are programmed for viewing (one or more) while the remainder of the instruments are obscured behind a ported plate having partial instrument indicia on the face thereof and with the pattern of instrument ports having individual windows individually actuated by a control circuit controlling timing and sequence. This is a training aid with timing and sequence viewing improving the viewing comprehension skills of a pilot or student pilot using the training device. • Patent number: 5217824
Abstract: A battery holder of electrical non-conductive plastic, shorter than elongate batteries inserted therein, is provided having an opening receiving the upper contact end of an elongate nickel-cadmium battery that generally come in 7.2 volt and 9.6 volt capacities. The plastic cases of these batteries have opposite side openings to opposite battery terminals and a detent opening on an end of the top insert portion of the battery. A manually pressable release detent latching lever is pivotally mounted in the battery holder and resiliently biased to the detent battery hold position. A cam surface on the detent is engaged by the top edge of the battery and case structure and the dentent is camed outwardly as the battery assembly is being inserted into the opening of the plastic battery holder and then is snapped back into the detent hold state in the detent opening of the battery and case assembly.

  • Patent number: 5183353
Abstract: A seal-cover is provided for paving material filled pavement openings such as pot holes. A hot mix (used in good weather) or a cold mix (used in bad weather) of asphalt paving repair material is used to fill a hole in the existing pavement. A coating or layer of tar is put down covering the asphalt fill in a pavement hole and extending outward beyond the hole periphery to the extent of being approximately eight inches larger than the hole patch. A roofing material such as roofing tar paper, an asphalt or tar and fiberglass coating material or even a vinyl flooring material slightly less area than the layer of tar is then laid down over the layer of tar previously laid down. This water tight construction over asphalt fill repaired pot holes, keeping water out of patch areas, greatly aids in new repair standing up to heavy traffic and thereby greatly extends patch life running to many years.
