  • Patent number: 4826041
Abstract: A toothpick dispenser with an elevated base having opposite end mount pedestals that rest on a supporting surface with the elevated base mounting a toothpick box that is slideable back and forth between opposite end limited positions. One position is established by limit position contact of the box with one of the pedestals and a lock device mounted in the elevated base at the mount pedestal at the other end is movable into an end limit blocking position for the box when the elevated base is put down on a supporting surface. There are two toothpick dispensing grooves in the upper surface of the elevated base, one for each of the opposite end positions of the toothpick holding box with the back edge of each groove being rounded to prevent jamming up of the dispenser box by either square centered toothpicks or round centered toothpicks whichever is being dispensed.

  • Patent number: 4811008
Abstract: Graphics information display panels made up of basic picture elements running to hundreds, or more, are useful for being viewed for advertising, transportation information, traffic control, news, weather, financial data and other information normally generated by computers. The system has capability in alphanumeric and also for color graphics designs in four colors through use of a basic display element with a transparent cylinder having four different color pigment enclosing compartments (or cavities) rotatable about a center rod mounting thereof. A six cavity transparent cylinder provides for design displays in six colors. Color pigments, either liquid or powder, are used to fill pixel cylinder cavities as fade resistant color medias where exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet radiation otherwise tends to cause deterioration of color pigment.

  • Patent number: 4802249
Abstract: A three piece portable adjustable length posture care bed or hospital bed with one a rectangular cushion and the other two rectangular in profile yet wedged shaped to better conform to a user's body when used as bed. When the two wedged shaped cushions are properly placed together along with the third cushion they fit within a carrying case weighing altogether not more than approximately ten pounds. One of the wedge cushions includes a cloth extension that is positionable to underlie the thin end of the other wedge cushion and that permits varied spacing of the wedge cushions in adapting to the height of a user. The cushions are maintained in the desired assembled spaced relation via criss-cross VELCRO interlocking fastening strips that allow great versatility in use.

  • Patent number: 4803107
Abstract: A construction material light weight as compared to standard concrete yet having excellent thermal insulation qualities. The material when processed uses cement, pumice in small size particularized form and/or volcanic ash, scoria in particularized form, vermiculite in flaked particle form and water for the cement. While excellent product may be formed with these ingredients alone a more uniformly predicable product may be produced if, prior to mixing of all the ingredients, the vermiculite is mixed with kerosene on the ratio of approximately one cubic foot to one fourth cubic foot. The vermiculite is then mixed with the pumice to kerosene coat the pumice to block absorbtion of water from the water cement mixture by the pumice to thereby insure proper curing of the cement binder in the overall material mix.

  • Patent number: 4799609
Abstract: A light weight and collapsible luggage carrier that hooks onto the rear car bumper with adjustable length support chains with end brackets mounting on a trunk rim. The luggage carrier comes in kit form that when collapsed is conveniently stored in the car trunk available for use when needed. The carrier assembled in place on the rear of an automobile includes a "U" shaped tubular metal assembly in the luggage carrier along a plurality of cross tubes as a platform support for luggage carried thereon. Rubber bumpers on the front ends of the "U" sides prevent damage to the auto rear above the rear bumper. Two opposite side support plastic sheathed chains have metal end clips that hook over the trunk rear rim and extend to exposed chain outer ends selectively connected by "S" hooks to opposite ends of the "U" shape adjacent flattened bends that prevent the "S" hooks from moving through the flattened bends.

  • Patent number: 4754381
Abstract: An ellipsoidal reflector system concentrating energy utilizing two effects--one being that light passing through one focus of an ellipse will tend to line up with the major axis after each reflection, combined with the other in the properties of ellipses rotated off-axis having one distributed focus and one point focus. After a few reflections light having originally passed through one focus is, for practical purposes, running along the major axis even though the major axis is approached as an asymptote. This energy concentration system would be quite useful as a source of highly collimated light such as would be more practical for field surveying work than, for example, lasers, for optical alignment, and fiber-optic carrier media input. In addition to light some of these ellipsoidal reflector systems for concentration of energy are also effective for ultrasonics and/or shock waves.

  • Patent number: 4750000
Abstract: Ultra-broadband impedance matched electrically small self-complementary pair antennas using thin wire elements with impedance inverting feed are presented. Efficiencies are determined by achieveable loss resistances in the radiating structure itself, rather than the (limited) quality of an external loading coil, and by energy channeled into the difference port of the feed hybrid, that is used to match two complementary impedances. Broadband impedance loci are achieved for thin radiators by impedance inverters placed prior to the complementarizing circuit. Impedance matching is then accomplished in a standard broadband hybrid or "Magic Tee" feed circuit.

  • Patent number: 4739152
Abstract: An elongated, coiled, electrical resistance heating filament is positioned along the major axis of an ellipsoidal reflector with its inner end positioned at the inner focus of the reflector and with the coil extending outwardly toward but short of an annular rim defining the front of the reflector. The coiled filament is supported by a pair of power supply leads connected to the inner and outer ends of thereof and forming stiff conductive support pillars mounted in a thickened support and seal portion at the apex of the reflector. The front of the reflector may be closed by a glass plate sealed to the annular rim. A secondary reflector may be provided on the major axis of the ellipsoidal reflector between the outer end of the coiled filament and the annular rim. The secondary reflector may be a figure of rotation of any shape, e.g., parabolic or conical, capable of throwing energy that would otherwise escape back through the coiled filament and serves to conserve energy and shield the eyes of the user.
