  • Patent number: 5171162
Abstract: A coaxial cable tap is provided for connection to a coaxial line that is accomplished without disconnection of the coaxial line or otherwise disrupting service. A precise oval area of the outer jacket and shield is removed along with a controlled depth penetration of the dielectric material surrounding the center conductor in the area of the cable where the coaxial cable tap is to be positioned. The tap coupling block has a groove fitting the cable outer surface and a retaining cover, attached by screws, that, as tightened down forcing the cable down into the groove, a coaxial center probe is forced through the dielectric and into the center conductor. At the same time conductive contact members are brought into contact with the coaxial conductive shield thereby establishing an electrical path between the coaxial shield and the metallic body of the tap coupling block.

  • Patent number: 5168988
Abstract: Greetings along with a portrayal scene are duplicated on both a greeting card and a coin (medallion) packaged together in respective sections of a two section transparent plastic package. The package has a single opening at the top, an elongate rectangular card receiving pocket section at the top and a smaller lower pocket section at the bottom receiving the coin. The pocket sections are separated one from the other by opposite side transverse inwardly directed front and back plastic weld extensions that extend inwardly enough to provide a bottom for the the card receiving pocket section and yet leave enough opening for passage of the coin to and from the lower pocket section. The card, a folded over on itself card, may be removed to be signed personally and reinserted.

  • Patent number: 5165789
Abstract: A probe light is provided with two power lines passed through a long tubular small diameter brass rod extended from a handle with a plug in socket connection to a power supply to a small cross sectional halogen lamp bulb socket for a small diameter halogen light bulb. The halogen light bulb used is a high intensity light bulb pulling relatively high amperage developing considerable heat. The tubular small diameter brass rod, that is bendable for use convenience, conducts heat away from the lamp bulb socket and the plug in leads of the lamp bulb are bent in a wave shape to insure good electrical contact through an extensive heat temperature range. The lamp bulb leads plug into internal openings in the two socket pins held within the lamp bulb socket with the socket pins being heavy duty pins also conducting heat away from the lamp bulb leads.

  • Patent number: 5147096
Abstract: A trailer hitch is provided where a longitudinally moveable rectangular cap is slidably mounted on a rectangular (square in some instances) pipe used as a trailer hitch tongue mounting within its lead end a trailer hitch ball socket member welded in place in the pipe with the socket opening therein facing downwardly. The rectangular cap is provided with an enlarged opening in the bottom thereof that with the cap slid forwardly to an open position that permits passage of a trailer hitch ball through the enlarged opening into and removal from the socket opening in the trailer hitch ball socket member. The rectangular cap has a narrow opening extension from the enlarged opening such that when the cap is slid back the opening extension while large enough to accommodate the shank of the trailer hitch ball is narrow enough to capture the trailer hitch ball locking it in place in the ball socket opening.

  • Patent number: 5084996
Abstract: A twisted spinner blade with laser beam cut surface patterns is provided for use with fishing lures designed to be especially effective in bass fishing. The laser beam cuts that are shallow can have spacing consistent with cuttings running to a much as provided with approximately one hundred forty four thousand pictel cuts per inch. Such laser line surface pattern cuttings intensify reflected light and the cutting area prismatic effect generates a color spectrum reflection and a hologram like image on particles and plankton in the water as it is being moved in a spinning action through the water. This image effect generated around the spinner blade as it is spinning in water while being moved therethrough appears to bass (or other game fish) as a small fish such as a minnow would appear in more visible form.

  • Patent number: 5063341
Abstract: An electrical power source, either AC or DC, lead acid battery rejuvenator and charger circuit switchable between rejuvenator and charger modes of operation. For the rejuvenator mode of operation a rejuvenator pulse signal generating circuit supplies voltage in the form of fast rise voltage pulses peaking at a voltage necessary to cause battery plate saturation that is 1:1 to 1:3 times the theoretical battery cell voltage. This is accomplished by use of very short duration pulses in the order of 5 micro seconds or less time width wise with extremely fast rise time in the order of 5 mega volts per second rise time with these pulses occurring in approximately the 2,000 to 10,000 times per second frequency range.

  • Patent number: 5061224
Abstract: A fully automatic torque converter transmission is presented that uses a "V" belt with inner teeth that engage mating teeth on a variable pitch pulley core in a low speed high torque state transformable into an infinitely variable higher speed shift mechanism. The bicycle pedal sprocket drives a pivoted cluster of three small sprockets with a drive chain loop interconnect driving a first sprocket as a driven member, and the other two serving as idlers in maintaining the chain at constant length. A speed ratio of approximately 1:6 from the pedal sprocket to the driven sprocket optimizes torque transmission capacity of the system with the driven sprocket attached to a self-centering, spring loaded, variable pitch pulley. This pulley has a core shaped like a timing belt pulley with grooves (or teeth) at its surface.

  • Patent number: 5058465
Abstract: A device for holding a lock key firmly while inserting the key in a lock on a building, automobile, filing cabinet or other. The purpose of the tool is to impart torque simultaneous with a rocking motion to the key. This causes marks to be made on the key by the lock pins or wafers and shows the locksmith where to file the key to make it open the lock. This procedure is well known to those in the locksmith's trade, and is called impressioning.
