Abstract: A hot fuel gas generator for an internal combustion engine simultaneously vaporizes gasoline and water in a multi-chambered heated pressure vessel having built in regulators for controlling pressure and volume and delivers the resulting superheated steam and gaseous fuel to the intake manifold of the internal combustion engine downstream from the usual air cleaner. A single device operating at a high temperature, for example 800.degree. F., is used for the simultaneous vaporization of the fuel and water to develop desirable working pressure and volume. The high temperature steam and gaseous fuel positions the fuel molecules at the greatest degree of separation from each other providing the greatest opportunity for contact of the oxygen, the reacting species in the gaseous condition as chemical reactions occur only between particles at the atomic or molecular level and it is necessary for the reacting species to be in actual contact at the time of reaction.

Abstract: A pedestal house with a cantilevered crossed truss construction forming the floor and wall supporting structure thereof has several pairs of crossed horizontally disposed truss members, each truss member has vertically spaced top and bottom cord members and interconnecting web members, one of each pair of truss members being of a greater height than the other so that one truss member of each pair passes through an opening in the other at right angles thereto. Members are located longitudinally of said other truss member of each pair so as to increase the height thereof to that of the higher truss member of the pair. This invention is distinguishable from others by reason of the pedestal house and the crossed truss members thereof forming a central area from which the ends of the truss members extend in cantilever form to form a wide stable support structure for the house on the pedestal.

Abstract: A device on which several continuous lengths of sausage in casings can be positioned and cut into equal sized portions comprises an integral body member with the upper surface thereof having a plurality of parallel sausage receiving channels therein with a plurality of longitudinally spaced narrow slots crosswise thereof in spaced relation to one another so as to provide knife guides. The channels take the form of spaced adjacent half circular shapes and the plurality of channels permit a number of continuous lengths of sausage in casings to be positioned thereon and simultaneously cut into uniform portions.

Abstract: A process of treating a coke oven door and jamb with a material containing micron colloidal particles of graphite in a liquid carrier is described that forms a penetrating and surface coating on the coke oven doors and jambs which acts to prevent leakage of tar and other coke by-products as heretofore common in the art and the resultant inability of maintaining a sealing relation between the door and jamb.

Abstract: A cultivating machine such as a powered vehicle has several ground engaging hoes and is arranged for moving these hoes relative to a row of plants to be cultivated. The cultivator includes a device for elevating the hoes with respect to the ground and for moving at least two of the hoes in oppositely disposed sideward motion while they are engaged in the ground so as to enable them to cultivate the area between the individual plants in a given row. Pneumatic piston and cylinder assemblies are used impart sideward movement to the sidewardly movable hoes and suitable control valves connect the pneumatic piston and cylinder assemblies with a source of compressed air carried by the vehicle.

Abstract: A machine for making molds in which cast welding rods can be formed includes a vertically movable pressure plate having a plurality of pointed depending rods thereon and apparatus including a hydraulically actuated piston and cylinder assembly for moving the pointed rods into and out of a sand filled flask to form cavities in which welding rods are subsequently cast. The machine includes a second pressure plate which is apertured and through which the rods move with the second pressure plate forming pouring buttons and runner configurations in the sand in the flask to facilitate pouring of the metal in the cavities formed by the rods.
