Abstract: A flexible dock seal for closing an opening such as a loading dock with respect to a truck or trailer takes the form of an inverted U-shaped flexible structure normally positioned in extended relation to the loading dock opening by resilient devices and yieldable upon engagement therewith by the truck or trailer so as to form a satisfactory closure between the dock and the truck or trailer.

Abstract: An adjustable drop nipple is disclosed for connecting a pendant sprinkler to a sprinkler system. The nipple includes outer and inner telescoped pipes with a gripping means therebetween which permits an adjustment of the telescoped relation of the pipes for a desired position of the pendant sprinkler below a drop ceiling.

Abstract: A disc-like device, the peripheral edge of which is formed in a plurality of oppositely turned curved segments is attached to a no-till planter as used in planting seed crops in fields which have not been plowed. The disc-like device is arranged to follow the disc opener of the planter which in turn follows a wavey disc which prepares the soil for the disc opener. The configuration of the disc-like device with its outturned oppositely arranged curved segments forming its peripheral edge closes the shallow trench formed by the disc opener at the time the seeds are inserted therein.

Abstract: A pusher plate for a horizontally discharging semi-trailer is formed with a forwardly and downwardly extending support on the material engaging face thereof arranged to slidably engage the floor of the semi-trailer so as to hold the pusher plate in a vertical position in the semi-trailer body in which it is movably positioned.

Abstract: A catch basin cover and lid takes the form of a reinforced concrete slab-like body of a desirable shape and provided with a central opening and a lid and replaces the cast iron catch basin covers heretofore generally employed. The reinforcing members are shaped to support the peripheral edges of the concrete slab and are positioned transversely therein so as to engage and support a reinforcing ring defining the access opening in the cover, the reinforced concrete catch basin cover and lid are uniformally sized by formation of the same in an appropriately shaped outline mold uniformly spaced with respect to the reinforcing members of the catch basin cover.

Abstract: A portable slag beneficiating plant comprises lengthwise adjacent first and second stage sizing devices with an intermediate magnetically operated separating unit arranged to deliver separated metallics to the second stage sizing device and to deliver the separated non-metallic slag to a conveyor for remote accumulation. The first and second stage sizing devices in the slag beneficiating plant and the magnetic separating unit which incorporates a feed conveyor belt and the disposal slag conveyor are individually operated by hydraulic motor subject to the control of individual valves and supplied from a common source of hydraulic fluid pressure enabling the individual sizing separating and conveying devices in the portable slag beneficiating plant to be operated at different speeds and capacities manually variable continuously to expedite rapid and efficient handling of large quantities of slag by the plant.

Abstract: A hot fuel gas generator for an internal combustion engine vaporizes gasoline and water in a heated pressure vessel and mixes the resulting superheated gaseous fuel with air in a metering valve which communicates with the internal combustion engine. A single device operating at a very high temperature, for example 1000.degree. F., is used for the simultaneous vaporization of the fuel and water to develop desirable working pressure and volume. The high temperature gaseous state of the fuel represents molecules at the greatest degree of separation from each other providing the greatest opportunity for contact of the reacting species in the gaseous condition as chemical reactions occur only between particles at the atomic or molecular level and it is necessary for the reacting species to be in actual contact at the time of reaction. The fuel gas produced therefore enables complete combustion and the elimination of the atmospheric pollutants common in the operation of internal combustion engines.

Abstract: An over the road trailer has a main frame and an extensible sub-frame for increasing the length thereof by forming a ramp on one end of the trailer when the other end is elevated by an integral lifting mechanism whereby a building such as a single car garage or a portion of a multi-car garage can be moved up the ramp and trailer, secured thereto and transported to a new location and unloaded.

Abstract: An inflatable dock seal for closing the area around a dock opening in a wall with respect to a truck or a trailer has an upper horizontal section and a pair of vertical sections in communication therewith. Elongated uninflated flexible tubular members on each of the vertical sections are slidably engaged over structural members secured to the wall and spaced flexible longitudinal flanges on the upper horizontal section are clampingly secured between distortable clamping members on a mounting strip on the wall.

Abstract: A fire extinguisher cabinet protectively encloses a fire extinguisher of the portable type and provides a transparent movable access panel through which the fire extinguisher may be readily seen. Movement of the access panel actuates an audible alarm to indicate that the cabinet has been opened. The cabinet discourages theft of the fire extinguisher as the same cannot be removed therefrom without opening the access panel and actuating the alarm unless a key controlled lock and actuating arm is moved to inactive position prior to moving the access panel.

Abstract: A wall construction suitable for an exterior load bearing wall includes spaced studding positioned vertically between upper and lower plates with the outer surfaces of the studs scalloped so as to present limited areas of contact with an insulating board affixed thereto and preferably incorporating a moisture seal membrane. Siding or the like is positioned on the exterior of the insulating board to form the exterior surface of the wall and lath and plaster or dry wall is affixed to the interior surface of the studding in continuous contact therewith to complete the wall construction, the arrangement being such that the studding act as heat conveying fins on the lath and plaster or dry wall so as to warm the area within the wall construction. The spaced transversely positioned scallops in the exterior surface of the studding substantially isolating the studding from the insulating board and exterior siding.
