Abstract: A portable window fan including a housing having a bottom wall for mounting on a sill of a window with an open sash, a top wall for engaging the open sash, a rear wall defining a plurality of inlet openings, and a front wall defining three substantially aligned discharge openings spaced apart in a given direction substantially parallel to the top wall. Also included are three fan blades mounted within the housing, each fan blade arranged to produce air flow through a different one of the discharge openings; an electrical drive coupled to the fan blades and operative to induce rotation thereof; and a grill mechanism covering the discharge openings.

Abstract: A portable electric fan including a housing having inlet and outlet openings and adapted for mounting in an open window, a movable blade mechanism retained in the housing and operable to supply air through the open window between the inlet and outlet openings and a blade drive operatively coupled to the blade mechanism. Also included is a movable air director mechanism for directing in variable horizontal and vertical directions air supplied by the blower mechanism and an air director drive operatively coupled to the air director mechanism and operable to automatically vary the discharge directions.

Abstract: A portable fan including an air director housing for mounting between a sill and sash of an open window and having oppositely directed first and second open ends, spaced apart top and bottom walls extending between the first and second open ends, and spaced apart side walls joined to the top and bottom walls and extending between the first and second open ends; the side, top and bottom walls defining an air flow passage between said first and second open ends. Also included is a blower housing joined to the first open end of the air director housing and defining first and second openings for accommodating air flow; the blower housing projecting from the air director housing for a substantial first horizontally directed distance d and for a substantial second vertically directed distance D. A motor driven blower is retained in the blower housing and produces air flow between the first and second openings through the air flow passage.

Abstract: A portable electric fan including a plurality of posts connectable to form an elongated pole having first and second ends; a pedestal attached to the first end of the pole and adapted to provide support thereof on a base surface; and a clamp attached to the second end of the pole and adapted for clamping engagement with an upper surface spaced from the base surface. Also included is an adjustment mechanism for adjusting the length of the pole and a blower retained by the pole.

Abstract: A portable inhalator including a housing defining an inhalation chamber with a discharge opening for accommodating a breath supporting body portion, an exhaust passage terminating with an exhaust opening and isolated from the inhalation chamber, and a liquid reservoir communicating therewith. Also included are a burner for heating liquid in the reservoir, a fuel canister removably supported by the housing, and a valve for controlling fuel flow between the canister and the burner.

Abstract: A portable electric fan including a housing defining an air inlet opening and an air outlet opening; a fan blade rotatably mounted within the housing and operable to produce air flow between the inlet opening and the outlet opening; an electric motor operatively coupled to the fan blade; a support attached to the housing; and a base retaining the support and defining a substantially planar support surface for engaging a substantially horizontal foundation surface, the base and surface adapted to stabily support the electric fan on the foundation surface. Abstract: A portable humidifier including a base defining a reservoir for retaining liquid, a humidification device for inducing dispersion of liquid withdrawn from the reservoir and a liquid storage tank having an outlet for feeding liquid into the reservoir. Also included is a container defining a chamber for a given volume of a treatment substance for liquid and a discharge opening providing communication between the chamber and the tank, and a dispenser for automatically and periodically dispensing through the discharge opening to the tank a dose portion of the treatment substance contained volume within the chamber.

Abstract: A portable electric fan including a base having an upwardly directed coupling surface and a bottom surface for mounting on a foundation; a support having a downwardly directed coupling surface rotatably mounted on the upwardly directed coupling surface; a housing fixed to the support so as to be movable therewith, a fan blade retained by the housing; and an electric motor operatively coupled to said fan blade and energizable to produce rotation thereof. The coupling surfaces are shaped and arranged to produce in response to rotation of the support relative to the base, movement of the housing having both horizontal and vertical components.

Abstract: A humidifier having a reservoir, an exhaust opening, and a humidification unit including a motor driven fan with a suction tube attached thereto, a diffusion screen, and an intake opening. Water is drawn from the reservoir through the suction tube and dispersed towards the diffusion screen to cause mist which is combined with air drawn through the intake opening by the fan and expelled through the exhaust opening. An integral latch mechanism removably and replaceably attaches the suction tube to the fan to facilitate cleaning of the tube.
