Abstract: A filtered air moving device including a housing defining an air inlet, an air outlet, and an air flow path therebetween; a blower disposed in the housing and arranged to move air in the flow path from the inlet to the outlet; a multiple speed electrical motor rotatably coupled to the blower; and an air filter disposed within the housing in the air flow path. Also included is a control circuit for connecting the motor to a voltage source and including an electrical switch operable between a first condition providing rotation of the blower at a given speed and a second condition providing rotation of the blower at a predetermined speed greater than the given speed; a tubulation providing communication between a location in the air flow path downstream of the filter and a position remote therefrom; an indicator responsive to the rate of air flow through the tubulation, and a selector for varying the level of resistance to air flow provided by the tubulation.

Abstract: A portable electrical fan including a housing defining inlet and outlet openings for transmitting air; a fan blade disposed in the housing; a motor supported by the housing and rotatably coupled to the fan blade; a base for placement on a support surface and having a coupling for detachable connection to the housing, the base defining a base receiving portion; an elongated standard having one end detachably secured to the coupling and an opposite end detachably secured to the housing, the standard defining a standard receiving portion; an electrical control connected to the motor; an enclosure retaining the electrical control and removably receivable by either the base receiving portion or the standard receiving portion; and a retainer for securing the enclosure to either the base receiving portion or the standard receiving portion. Conversion of the invention into either a floor or table fan is easily accomplished.

Abstract: An air blower including a rear housing defining a plurality of air inlet openings, a front housing having an annular peripheral portion secured to the rear housing, a central support portion within the peripheral portion, a grillwork portion extending between the peripheral portion and the support portion, and a fan assembly secured to the central portion and projecting toward the rear housing. The grillwork portion includes a plurality of vanes each of which is arcuately curved in shape and each of which is connected between the central support portion and the annular peripheral portion independently of the other.

Abstract: A portable electric heater including a housing having a rear wall, a substantially planar front wall, a bottom support and a top wall. Retained by the housing are a resistive heating element and an electrical circuit for connecting the heating element to an electrical power source. The circuit includes a switch having a closed condition that connects the heating element to the electrical power source and an open condition that disconnects the heating element from the electrical power source. Included with the switch is a manually operable actuator projecting from the front wall and movable in a single motion between a stable first position producing the closed condition and a stable second position producing the open condition, and wherein the actuator is shaped and arranged to be moved into the second position in response to contact with a substantially planar surface.

Abstract: An electric humidifier includes a base defining a liquid reservoir and a latch aperture. A humidifier unit is hingedly mounted on the base over the reservoir and movable to provide access thereto. The humidifier unit includes an electrically energized humidification means for inducing dispersion of liquid through a discharge opening into a space to be humidified. Power is supplied to the humidification unit and aligned with the latch aperture on the base when the humidifier unit is operatively mounted on the base. A power supply cord has a plug detachably connected to the connector through the latch aperture. The engagement of the connected plug with the latch aperture prevents movement of the humidifier with respect to the base to prevent access to the reservoir and interior of the humidifier unit so long as the plug and connector are in operative engagement.
