Abstract: A refillable dispenser for a stick product comprises a holder cup, an A-shell and an inner base. Preferably, the dispenser will also comprise an outer base and a closure. The holder cup and A-shell form a cartridge subassembly for a stick product that can be bottom filled, and removed and replaced as needed. The dispenser requires no lubricant.
Abstract: Powdery cosmetic compositions comprise a particulate phase and a binder sub- composition. The binder sub-composition consists of a viscous emollient, a non-viscous emollient, a triglyceride ester fatty acid, and one or more specific waxes. The binder sub-composition is particularly suited for use in stabilizing pearlescent and metallic pigments. The compositions are stable, have a creamy texture, and are suitable for long-wear, while providing true color, excellent color payoff and skin conditioning.

Abstract: An applicator system for containing and dispensing a cosmetic substance may include a container defining a cavity and including an open first end, a dispensing mechanism operably coupled with the first end of the container, and an applicator. The dispensing mechanism includes an elongated body that includes first and second ends and an actuator assembly operably coupled therewith. The applicator is operably coupled with the actuator assembly and is positioned at or near the first end of the elongated body and the first end of the container. Upon engaging the actuator assembly, the applicator is urged towards the cavity of the container to collect a quantity of cosmetic substance.

Abstract: A container for a stick product utilizes a novel inner body that has no gaps along its top perimeter. As a result, significant advantages in assembly and operation are realized. Containers according to the present invention may be useful for all types of stick products that are applied by drawing the product across a surface.
Abstract: The invention relates to a topical composition comprising an extract of Tiger lily (Lilium tigrinum) enriched in low molecular weight RNA. The invention also relates to a method of cosmetic care including the topical application a composition comprising an extract of Tiger lily (Lilium tigrinum) in a physiologically acceptable medium, in order to reduce skin signs of aging and photo-aging. The invention is also directed to a cosmetic method of treatment to improve cell viability, to improve cell protection against particulate matter and against DNA damages, and to reduce cellular senescence.
Abstract: Heterocyclic compounds are provided. In particular, the heteroatom of the heterocyclic compound may be nitrogen. The heterocyclic compounds may demonstrate capacity of stabilizing photoactive compounds. Topical compositions comprising these heterocyclic compounds are also provided. In particular, these topical compositions further comprise photoactive compounds. Methods for stabilizing photoactive compounds are also provided. These methods comprise mixing the photoactive compounds with photostabilizing heterocyclic compounds.
Abstract: A dual-ended stick mechanism comprises a dual-ended holder cup that holds two stick products; a single inner body with longitudinal shaft; a single cam sleeve a with helical groove; two A-shell members; and two overcaps. When either overcap is rotated with respect to the opposite A-shell, the holder cup moves up and down. A register feature alerts the user that the holder cup has reached its neutral position.
Abstract: A cosmetic preparation system may provide a diagnostic or shade matching tool, a dispenser unit, and a mixer unit. The diagnostic or shade matching tool may identify a user skin type and customize one or more ingredients to create a custom blend composition. The dispenser unit may dispense ingredients and prepare the custom blend composition in containers of various sizes. The mixer unit may provide a mixing assembly to mix the one or more ingredients using gyroscopic mixing.
Abstract: Hair bleaching compositions, methods for using hair bleaching compositions, and methods for preparing hair bleaching compositions are provided herein. The hair bleaching compositions comprise at least one gallic acid derivative, at least one amino acid and/or at least one amino acid derivative, at least one oxidizing agent, and optionally, at least one hair care agent and/or hair treatment agent.
Abstract: Photostabilizing compounds are provided. In particular, the photostabilizing compounds may be heterocyclic or homocyclic. Topical compositions comprising these compounds are also provided. In particular, these topical compositions may further comprise photoactive compounds. Methods for stabilizing photoactive compounds are also provided. These methods comprise mixing the photoactive compounds with photostabilizing compounds.
Abstract: A cosmetic container, such as a compact, that comprises a lid hingedly connected to a base, and a lighting circuit. Some embodiments of the invention comprises a one-way mirror, while others comprise a variable transparency film. Preferred embodiments, however, comprise both a one-way mirror and a variable transparency film that work cooperatively to provide a lid that is see through when viewed from the outside, and reflective when viewed from the inside.

Abstract: A rotating cosmetic applicator system features a unique rod/wiper relationship that causes the rod to rotate when it passes through the wiper. The applicator head rotates in one direction when the user inserts the applicator through the wiper, and in the opposite direction when the user removes the applicator through the wiper. The result is a more even loading of product onto the applicator head than with a conventional mascara system. A more even load of product on the brush will support a more consistent experience for the user.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a shear-thinning or pseudoplastic cosmetic composition. Zeta potentials may be balanced such that a first ratio of the first zeta potential to the second zeta potential may be approximately 1:2. A second ratio of the first zeta potential to the third zeta potential may be approximately 1:2. And, a third ratio of the second zeta potential to the third zeta potential may be approximately 1:1. Balancing zeta potentials may ensure the shear-thinning cosmetic composition can dispense in its original viscous form and as a fine mist through a single device.
Abstract: Single phase cosmetic adhesive compositions that are flexible and resistant to water below a selected temperature, 43° C. for example. The adhesive compositions wear well, are smudge and flake resistant, as well as oil resistant, making them very suitable for long wear without adhesive failure. Adhesive compositions according to the invention comprise specific combinations of acrylates/VA copolymer and acrylates copolymer in a cosmetically acceptable base or delivery vehicle. Adhesive compositions according to the invention are hydrophilic and easily removed when scrubbed with water above a certain temperature, but not as easily removed with water below that temperature. The adhesive compositions are easy to manufacture, flexible and comfortable, and suitable for use on skin, lips, hair and nails, particularly to secure strips of false eyelashes and eyebrows, as well as individual lash and brow extensions.
