Abstract: A disposable cartridge assembly for stick products, intended to be used in conjunction with a rotating base member that unlocks the cartridge and raises and lowers the stick product in the assembly. The rotating base member is intended to remain connected to the cartridge assembly for the life of the stick product, but may be detached and reused with multiple cartridges, which can be sold for the purpose. This design creates various options for manufacture and assembly of the various components at one or more locations.
Abstract: A process for solubilizing a resveratrol glycolate compound by heating the resveratrol glycolate and mixing the resveratrol glycolate with one or more glycols is disclosed. The process comprises an initial heating step of the resveratrol compound to a temperature not greater than 45° C. and a mixing step that mixes the heated resveratrol glycolate compound with at least one glycol solvent at room temperature for ten minutes to one hundred and twenty minutes.
Abstract: An applicator package is provided that has a vial, a cap and a rod with an applicator tip extending from the cap into the vial. The vial contains a cosmetic first substance and the cap contains a cosmetic second substance in a cartridge. The cosmetic first substance is dispensed from the vial by dipping the applicator into the substance in the vial. The second substance is dispensed from the cartridge by depressing the cartridge into the cap to activate a pump that dispenses the second substance through a dispensing port onto a surface of the applicator tip. The first and second substances may be applied individually in stages, or the substances may be applied simultaneously after loading each on the applicator.
Abstract: Single phase cosmetic adhesive compositions that are flexible and resistant to water below a selected temperature, 43° C. for example. The adhesive compositions wear well, are smudge and flake resistant, as well as oil resistant, making them very suitable for long wear without adhesive failure. Adhesive compositions according to the invention comprise specific combinations of acrylates/VA copolymer and acrylates copolymer in a cosmetically acceptable base or delivery vehicle. Adhesive compositions according to the invention are hydrophilic and easily removed when scrubbed with water above a certain temperature, but not as easily removed with water below that temperature. The adhesive compositions are easy to manufacture, flexible and comfortable, and suitable for use on skin, lips, hair and nails, particularly to secure strips of false eyelashes and eyebrows, as well as individual lash and brow extensions.
Abstract: Cationically-charged particulates and compositions containing the cationically-charged particulates for application to keratinous materials are provided. Methods of preparing the cationically-charged particulates are also disclosed. Methods of increasing the cationic charge on particulates are also provided.
Abstract: A refillable unit dose package for frozen cosmetic or personal care products that can provide a chilling effect during application. The main components of the package are a reservoir and an applicator. The applicator comprises a handle and an applicator head depending from the handle. In use, a product in the reservoir is frozen, which causes the product to bond to the applicator head. The handle is used to lift the frozen product out of the reservoir, and draw the frozen product over the skin. As it melts from the heat of the skin, the product can be spread on the skin. The reservoir is refillable by a consumer.
Abstract: A disposable unit dose package for frozen cosmetic or personal care products that can provide a chilling effect during application. The main components of the package are a reservoir and an applicator. The reservoir may be interiorly divided to hold more than one product. The applicator comprises a handle and one or more applicator heads depending from the handle. In use, a product in the reservoir is frozen, which causes the product to bond to the applicator head. The handle is used to lift the frozen product out of the reservoir, and draw the frozen product over the skin. As it melts from the heat of the skin, the product can be spread on the skin.

Abstract: The present invention relates to compounds of ester derivative of resveratrol, compositions comprising ester derivatives of resveratrol, processes for synthesizing an ester of resveratrol, and use thereof.
Abstract: A delayed release delivery system comprises a hydrophilic core particle having surface pores and containing a liquid. The particle is encapsulated in a polymer having a hydrophobic backbone and hydrophilic pendant groups. At least some of the surface pores adjacent the hydrophilic pendant groups are blocked in the presence of water and unblocked in the absence of water. The treated particle contains liquid in a weight ratio of the liquid to the porous core particle of at least 400:1.
Abstract: A packaged skin treatment composition comprising: (a) a receptacle with a neck and having stored therein a treatment composition containing microscopic three dimensional spherical structures having membranous outer walls and secluded internal spaces, (b) a wiper affixed within the neck and having an internal barrel portion, (c) a closure for the receptacle, (d) an applicator comprised of a rod with a proximal end affixed to the closure and a distal end terminating in an enlarged portion, wherein when the rod is extracted from the receptacle the treatment composition loads onto the applicator in an amount sufficient to permit application of the treatment composition containing the microscopic spherical structures to the treatment surface.

Abstract: A container system for mixing and dispensing that comprises two containers, each container holding one or more ingredients. A first container is sealed with a frangible seal. A second container is sealed with a reusable cap and closure. At the time of use, the containers are able to be joined in a way that creates a passageway from one container to the other, which allows the ingredients in each container to mix. When the containers are separated, the first container is empty, and the second container holds the mixed ingredients. The second container can be fitted with the reusable cap closure to seal off the mixed ingredients from the ambient environment.
