Abstract: A switch for universal serial bus is disclosed. The universal serial bus (USB) port has a built switch actuator that automatically turns power on and off upon insertion and removal of a USB plug. The switch for universal serial bus comprises of a USB port with a switch actuator in a power-off position and a momentary switch wherein when a USB plug is inserted into the USB port, the switch actuator is depressed which in turn depresses the momentary switch to turn on the power to the USB port. When the USB plug is removed from the USB port, the switch actuator returns to its original power-off position thereby turning off the power to the USB port.

Abstract: An automatic cover for universal serial bus (USB) port that opens and closes automatically when a USB plug is inserted and removed from the USB port. The automatic sliding door for a universal serial bus comprises a top door, a biasing means to urge the top door downward, a bottom door, a biasing means to urge the bottom door upward, and a support structure to which the top door and the bottom door are pivotally affixed. The top door and bottom door opens automatically upon insertion of a USB plug. When the USB plug is removed, the top door and bottom door closes automatically.
Abstract: An electronic circuit that is normally used in a car cigarette lighter adapter is disclosed. It is designed to meet the high performance requirements of the Apple Computer specification for charging iPod and iPhone, while still retaining low cost. The circuit is composed of input protection components, surge regulator, FET switch, inductor-capacitor smoothing filter, gate drive components, voltage regulator, current regulator, current sense element, and voltage reference.
Abstract: An illuminated universal serial bus (USB) port that is illuminated with a light emitting diode (LED). The illuminated USB port comprises a USB port with a LED disposed directly behind the USB port to illuminate the USB port through the opaque white plastic and the existing openings in the USB port. The illuminated USB port is easily located in low light or dark environments. The illuminated USB port can also indicate the power on status of a USB port.
Abstract: A USB charger comprises a power input, a microprocessor, a resistor network, and a USB port for charging electronic devices through the USB port. The USB charger defaults to provide 2000 mA when power is applied through the power input. When a device is detected at the USB port, it measures device current drain to determine if it is charging. If the device is charging, then it remains in the 2000 mA charging mode. If no current drain is detected, the power supply switches to 1000 mA. If the electronic device recognizes the proper charging network it will begin charging. When the microprocessor detects current drain, it leaves the charging network as is. If still no current drain is detected, the USB microprocessor will attempt the 500 mA charging current. If there is a current drain, it will leave the charging network as is. If no current drain is detected, then it indicates a fault and a LED flashes to indicate the fault.
Abstract: The present invention is a mobile charger receptacle configured with universal serial bus (USB), cigarette lighter adapter (CLA) plug, and control firmware, comprising a housing, a cigarette lighter adapter plug disposed on the one side of the housing, and a USB plug allocated on the other side of the housing. The USB plug and the CLA plug are electrically connected with a control firmware disposed inside the housing. The control firmware enables the present invention to charge any type of mobile phone.
Abstract: A digital media player integrated into the housing of the cassette adapter. A cassette shaped housing of a cassette adapter includes a removable portion suitable for accommodating a digital media player in place of the portion when removed. In a most preferred embodiment, the media player is an Apple iPod Shuffle. The digital media player is affixed and integrated into the housing by means of a groove, and is connected to the record-head of the adapter by an electronic coupling means capable of transmitting an audio signal; for instance, a TSR connector or stereo jack plug. Control means for the iPod Shuffle or other media player, including but not limited to play mode, track selection, and volume, can alternatively be integrated into the housing of the adapter, or can be embodied in a separate control housing connected to the circuitry in the main housing by a conducting cable.
