  • Patent number: 5767620
Abstract: To decrease the number of a cathode power source for operating a portion between the cathode and the gate, a structure is employed in which three gate lines for red, green and blue filters are provided, the filter being arranged such that the red optical filter has a lowest radiant efficiency, the blue optical filter has a secondly low radiant efficiency and the green optical filter has a highest radiant efficiency. In inverse proportion to the radiant efficiencies, the numbers of emitters in field-emission arrays formed in the three gate lines are determined.

  • Patent number: 5760810
Abstract: Odd-order patch-like gate electrodes are, by gate lead lines, connected to a first electrode, even-order patch-like gate electrodes are, by gate lead lines, connected to a second gate electrode. The first and second gate electrodes are selectively and alternately operated. By making the potential of gate electrodes, which are not being selected, to be a low level, the patch-like gate electrodes, which are being operated, can be surrounded by low-level conductors. Thus, electrons emitted from the patch-like gate electrodes can be converged.

  • Patent number: 5751106
Abstract: A fluorescent display tube has high visibility because reflection of Al of an anode conductor is prevented. A black film 3 formed on the inner surface of a substrate 2 is formed such that an inorganic metal containing compound is changed into a metal oxide by heat treatment, and consists of a TaO.sub.2 --, Tl.sub.2 O--, SnO--, or (Mn, Cu)--based oxide. An SiO.sub.2 film 4 serving as an alkali-shielding film is formed on the inner surface of the substrate 2 to cover the black film 3. An anode conductor 5 consisting of Al is formed on the SiO.sub.2 film 4. The anode conductor 5 is constituted of a frame member 6 and a stripe-shaped display unit 7 with transparency. The frame member 6 is behind the black film. The display unit 7 is partitioned by the inner edge of the gap between the black films 3. A phosphor layer 8 is formed on the display unit 7. A cross layer 9 is formed to cover the SiO.sub.2 film 4.

  • Patent number: 5747927
Abstract: A display device capable of simplifying connection between a drive circuit and lead-out wirings led out of electrodes and being small-sized while keeping a size of an image plane from being reduced. A part of supports for holding an anode substrate and a cathode substrate spaced from each other at a predetermined interval is formed so to be conductive and is interposedly arranged between the anode electrode and a lead-out wiring formed on the cathode substrate, to thereby provide an anode lead-out wiring on the cathode substrate. Such construction permits the anode lead-out electrode to be arranged so as to extend in the same direction as a cathode lead-out electrode or a gate lead-out electrode, to thereby facilitate connection of the wirings. Also, the anode substrate can be decreased in size because a region for the anode lead-out wiring is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 5721561
Abstract: An image display device including a field emission element capable of preventing diffusion of electrons to be impinged on a display section. An anode substrate is provided thereon with a phosphor-deposited display section and a cathode substrate is provided thereon with field emission elements including cathode conductors, emitter electrodes and gate electrodes. The cathode conductors and gate electrodes are formed into a stripe-like shape and arranged so as to intersect each other to form a matrix. A stripe-like diffusion prevention electrode is arranged between each adjacent two of the gate electrodes. The emitter electrodes selected by the gate electrodes and cathode conductors emit electrons. The diffusion prevention electrodes on both sides of each of the gate electrodes selected are applied thereto a voltage lower than a voltage of the gate electrodes, so that the electrons may be impinged on the display section required without diffusion, to thereby permit picture cells required to emit light.

  • Patent number: 5717286
Abstract: Electron excited luminous element capable of ensuring satisfactory emission characteristics of emitters for an extended period of time. A hydrophobic insulating film is formed on a glass anode substrate so as to cover an exposed portion thereof between anode electrodes. This keeps the glass anode substrate from being directly attacked by electrons, to thereby prevent decomposition of water and the like contained in a surface of the glass, resulting in oxygen which causes deterioration in emission characteristics of emitter cones being kept from being released from the glass.

  • Patent number: 5715789
Abstract: A method for controlling an engine for a model and a device therefor capable of improving throttle response. Feed of fuel to the engine is increased during acceleration of the engine and decreased during deceleration thereof. This permits a rotational speed of the engine to be smoothly and rapidly varied, to thereby reduce vibration of the engine and prevent knocking and breathing of the engine. Also, adjustment of a trim provided on a side of a controller leads to adjustment of a needle valve, so that the adjustment may be facilitated.

  • Patent number: 5708450
Abstract: A fluorescent display device capable of setting anode patterns as desired without being restricted by a configuration of grids. A plurality of grids formed into the same rectangular shape are juxtaposed to each other at micro intervals. First single anode patterns each are arranged so as to face each of grid groups each consisting of four to six single grids adjacent to each other. Second single anode patterns each are arranged so as to face each one single grids. The second single anode patterns are driven for every grid and then the grid groups facing the first single anode patterns are selected. Concurrently, the anode patterns facing the grid groups are fed with a display signal. Thus, the grid is commonly applied to any fluorescent display device and accommodates to any anode pattern.

  • Patent number: 5703610
Abstract: A drive circuit for an image display device capable of permitting anode lead-out wires to be led out without using a three-dimensional wiring structure and an image free of color bleeding to be displayed. Two-divided first and second anode electrodes are arranged opposite to stripe-like gate electrodes and are alternately driven. During driving of the first anode electrodes, cathode electrodes are scanned and only gate electrodes opposite to the anode electrodes are fed with image data. Then, the second anode electrodes are driven and scanning is likewise carried out. Thus, an image for one frame is displayed. Electrodes arranged on both sides of each of the anode electrodes and gate electrodes in a manner to be adjacent thereto have a potential kept at a ground level.

  • Patent number: 5693111
Abstract: A method for sealedly forming an envelope and an apparatus therefor capable of sealedly bonding an anode substrate and a cathode substrate to each other while preventing misregistration therebetween. A sealing glass material is arranged on a periphery of one of the substrates and the other substrate is put on the one substrate. Then, both substrates are registered with each other and then a laser beam is downwardly irradiated on the sealing glass material through the anode substrate to locally melt the sealing glass material, to thereby temporarily bond both substrates to each other. Then, both substrates are heated in an oven, to thereby sealedly bonded to each other, resulting in sealedly forming an envelope.

  • Patent number: 5644514
Abstract: An interpolation circuit for a measuring device capable of increasing a resolution and providing a velocity proportional output. Both sin .theta. signal and cos .theta. signal outputted from a sensor is fed to a balanced modulation adding circuit, resulting in providing a sin(.omega.t-.theta.) signal, which is then shaped into a pulse wave in a waveform shaping circuit. Then, a higher harmonic component is extracted by a BPF and then mixed with cos n.omega.t and sin n.omega.t signals in mixers, so that cos n.theta. and sin n.theta. signals are taken out of LPFs, respectively. The signals are subject to interpolation in a voltage comparison interpolation circuit of which the number of dividing is m, resulting in providing an interpolation circuit of which the whole number of dividing is m.multidot.n. Interpolation output A-phase and B-phase thereof each are a velocity proportional output.
