Abstract: A zero-crossing detection method, and devices incorporating the method, enable a selectively enabled bias to pull-up a zero-crossing signal, thereby enabling monitoring of the zero-crossing of both half-cycles of the alternating current (AC). This improves synchronization of the device in noisy environments and enables the detection of dimming problems during either half-cycle. Aspects can detect improper dimmer firing events on either polarity of the power cycle and restore normal dimmer operations when needed.

  • Patent number: 11038328
Abstract: A wall-mounted enclosure assembly comprising knockouts formed through one or more enclosure walls is provided with a layer of metallic or polymeric flame-resistant material affixed to the exterior or interior surface of the one or more enclosure walls to block the knockout's perforations, which would otherwise remain open. This seals the unused knockouts and prevents hot molten materials or flames from escaping the enclosure through the knockouts' perforations in the event of a destructive equipment malfunction within the enclosure. Unused knockouts remain visible through the tape, and consequently the tape does not prevent installers from easily locating and removing selected knockouts.

  • Publication number: 20210105882
Abstract: Two-wire dimmer operation includes controlling conduction of power to a lighting load. In one aspect, based on a conduction angle adjustment, power supply voltage is monitored and a maximum conduction angle is established based thereon. In another aspect, a dimming level signal is received and a dimming level for a dimmer is set based on the received dimming level. The dimming level signal indicates a desired dimming level for a dimmer, and a maximum value for the dimming level signal is based on a dimmer power supply voltage. In yet another aspect, based on detecting an adjustment to increase a conduction angle of a dimmer, the conduction end angle is increased and the conduction start angle is also increased. This results in a net increase in the conduction angle for controlling operation of the dimmer.
