  • Patent number: 10904984
Abstract: Two-wire dimmer operation includes controlling conduction of power to a lighting load. In one aspect, based on a conduction angle adjustment, power supply voltage is monitored and a maximum conduction angle is established based thereon. In another aspect, a dimming level signal is received and a dimming level for a dimmer is set based on the received dimming level. The dimming level signal indicates a desired dimming level for a dimmer, and a maximum value for the dimming level signal is based on a dimmer power supply voltage. In yet another aspect, based on detecting an adjustment to increase a conduction angle of a dimmer, the conduction end angle is increased and the conduction start angle is also increased. This results in a net increase in the conduction angle for controlling operation of the dimmer.

  • Publication number: 20210014952
Abstract: A calibration and daylighting control system provides a predetermined lighting level at a work surface. The system preferably includes a light sensor and a load control device for controlling a connected lighting element to provide light to the associated area and a work surface located therein. A wireless transceiver can provide wireless communication with a portable remote device such as a smart phone. A processor can be coupled to the light sensor, load control device and transceiver. The processor may be programmed to receive, via the transceiver, wireless signals from the portable remote device when the remote device is positioned on the work surface, and set a daylighting level of the light sensor based on the wireless signals. The wireless signals can be indicative that the daylighting level of the light sensor corresponds within a predetermined amount to the user-selected lighting level at the work surface.

  • Publication number: 20200413248
Abstract: A system for associating a device to a user of a service hosted at a remote location may include a device, a WAN, and equipment. The user may identify a wireless network of the device and connect to the device using equipment. An application on the equipment may generate a key and send the key to the device. The device may then connect with the service and transmit the key to the service. The application may disconnect from the device and connect with the service. The application may send a request to the service to associate with the device, sending the key with the request. The service compares the keys received from the device and the application. If the respective keys match, then the service may associate the device to the user of the service. Otherwise, the association is denied.

  • Patent number: 10740504
Abstract: A fiber channel verification system provides a fiber optic network design platform that allows a user to create a graphical mock-up of a fiber optic network design, and performs fault analytics on the proposed design to identify potential faults or problems with the design. The verification system can guide the user through the process of specifying network components such as trunk cables, patch cables, fiber optic cassettes, connectors, or other such components suitable for a given networking application. The verification also allows the user to define connections between the selected components. During development or after the design is complete, the verification system can analyze each channel of network design and identify improper fiber connections, network component incompatibilities, incorrect polarities, excessive insertion or return losses, or other such problems. The verification system can also provide recommendations for eliminating discovered problems where appropriate.

  • Publication number: 20200195420
Abstract: Techniques for securely controlling multiple lighting devices simultaneously with a lighting control device are disclosed. Command messages may be transmitted from the lighting control device to multiple lighting devices over a computer network without routing through a remote cloud service. The messages may be encrypted and may include an incremented sequence number. Lighting devices that receive a command message may compare the incremented sequence number to a previously stored sequence number corresponding to the lighting control device. If the incremented sequence number is greater than the stored sequence number, then a lighting device may determine the message was transmitted by an authorized lighting control device and may implement any command instruction included therein. If the incremented sequence number is equal to or less than the stored sequence number, then the lighting device may determine the command message was transmitted by a malicious source and may ignore the command message.

  • Publication number: 20200187001
Abstract: A wireless enabled lighting device having the ability to retrieve credentials for a primary wireless LAN from another previously configured wireless enabled lighting device is disclosed. After installation, the lighting device may be instructed to join a secondary wireless network temporarily provided by the previously configured lighting device. Once connected to the secondary wireless network, the lighting device may be provided the credentials for the primary wireless LAN from the previously installed device. The lighting device may then join the primary wireless LAN based on the provided credentials and may automatically initiate enrollment with a remote cloud service. After enrollment, the lighting device may be instructed to operate as an access point for the secondary wireless network, thereby allowing a subsequently installed lighting device to retrieve the credentials for the primary wireless LAN from the newly enrolled lighting device.
