Abstract: Embodiments are directed to a system for aiding with the control of cooking. The system includes a thermometer probe that has an emitter, a controller unit or CPU, a battery power supply, and a thermally conductive shaft with a temperature sensor. The thermally conductive shaft is positioned in the interior of a heated milieu (e.g. a food item). The thermally conductive shaft includes a tip at a first end, and an end fitting at a second end. The battery and controller unit are positioned in the thermally conductive shaft, along with the temperature sensor, which is in thermal contact with the thermally conductive shaft. The end fitting is hollow such that the end fitting houses the emitter and a second temperature sensor. Other embodiments are directed to a method for computing a temperature variation speed from a temperature difference inside the end fitting.

Abstract: A thermally and/or electrically insulative glove includes an outer back surface of molded silicone. A retainer is integrally molded with the glove body on the outer back surface to define a retainer cavity between the retainer and the outer back surface. The retainer cavity has a light opening and an access opening and is sealed by the outer back surface from the interior of the glove. A self-contained lamp is positionable in the retainer cavity through the light opening. an ON/OFF pushbutton switch is provided on the body of the self-contained lamp. The retainer includes a flexible wall with a protrusion, the protrusion being aligned with the on/off pushbutton switch with the lamp fully positioned in the retainer cavity.
Abstract: The invention relates to a device comprising a holder (12) and at least one flexible sheet (14) maintained in a curved configuration by the holder in order to define at least two adjacent sheet portions, having parallel generatrices and defining therebetween at least one gap (16) with a curved section that can exert a self-flexibility function of the sheet. The invention is applicable to kitchen accessories.
Abstract: A whisk includes a handle, a shaft and flexible wires. The handle has a cavity with a spiral internal track to engage and rotate the shaft with up and down motion of the handle. A collar is slidably mounted with a friction fit on the shaft. The flexible wires are coupled to the collar and to the second end of the shaft. Movement of the collar on the shaft changes the shape of the flexible wires. At the second end of the shaft, the flexible wires extend downwardly and then radially outwardly to lie in a plane and finally are bent toward the slidably mounted collar. A foot is rotatably mounted on the second end of the shaft and includes a bearing surface. The bearing surface extends from the second end of the shaft and beyond the defined plane within a clearance of coincidence with the defined plane.
Abstract: A salad processing system including a container with a processing lid thereon includes a gear with a handle driven gear wheel and pinions to provide rotary drives on the bottom side of the lid. A basket couples with one of the drives to spin-dry produce material. Another drive cooperates with a container mountable on the lid to drive chopping and mixing tools. A port through the lid allows access to the mixing container. A passageway through the lid receives a cuttings container and provides a socket for stationary blade tools including a slicer and a grid of knives. A lever pivotally mounted to the lid with a slotted plunger block dices produce through the grid of knives.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a closing part (1) for beverage containers, which includes a generally tubular cover (3) made of a food-grade sealing elastomer material. A first end is closed by an end portion (5) in which an opening (51) for dispensing the beverage is provided. The second end (41) of the cover (3) is arranged such as to be connected to a container. Near said second end (41), the cover (3) has a portion (43) which is flared in the direction of the second end (41). The shape of said flared portion (43) and the constitutive material thereof, along with the thicknesses and elastic characteristics thereof, are determined together in order to allow for a plurality of elastic deformation ranges or the flared portion (43) depending on which portion thereof is deformed in a state of connection to a container. The closing part sealingly fits onto an assortment or containers having different sizes.
Abstract: A temperature-retaining device includes an upper wall and a lower wall. The upper wall includes a conduction plate having a top surface and a bottom surface comprising a plurality of downwardly projecting fingers. A temperature-retaining body is disposed in contact with the plurality of fingers to transfer heat from the temperature-retaining body to the conduction plate. A support structure is coupled to the upper wall and has a peripheral wall surrounding the temperature-retaining body. A lower wall is coupled to the support structure to enclose the temperature-retaining body within a cavity defined by the upper wall, support structure and lower wall. The lower wall comprises a gas-permeable channel that is substantially impermeable to liquids.
Abstract: An apparatus for cutting and de-molding a dough sheet is described. The apparatus comprises a hollow cutter body, a cutting edge about an opening in the hollow cutter body, a compressible extractor in the hollow cuter body, an ejector, and a stamp with a pattern. The compressible extractor may be actuated between a first and second state. The hollow cutter body is magnetically engaged with the compressible extractor and the compressible extractor is magnetically engaged with the stamp.
