  • Patent number: 7431055
Abstract: A method for weaving a pile fabric with areas having a corded structure, a backing fabric being woven on a weaving machine by inserting backing weft yarns during successive weft insertion cycles between binding and tension warp yarns, while pattern-weft yarns are inserted outside the backing fabric, and are covered by pile warp yarns forming cords. Successive series of different pattern-weft yarns are inserted into the pile fabric in areas having a corded structure and at least one pattern-weft yarn of each series is running essentially above the warp yarns in a first part of its trajectory and is forming the pattern, and is covered by pile warp yarns essentially forming cords in a second part of its trajectory, so that a predetermined pattern or design is formed. This enables the color palette and/or the effect palette to be modified across the width of the weaving machine with weft effects.

  • Patent number: 7337809
Abstract: While weaving fabrics (501, 502, 601, 602) on a weaving machine, in successive weft insertion cycles two weft yarns (505, 506, 605, 606) are simultaneously inserted at different weft insertion levels between pile warp yarns (520, 530, 620, 630) which are positioned with respect to the weft insertion levels by a three-position-non-open-shed Jacquard machine. The Jacquard machine is provided to maintain one or several pile warp yarns (503, 504, 603, 604) in successive operating cycles of the weaving machine in an upper and/or a lower position. The pile warp yarns (503, 504, 603, 604) in their upper or in their lower position are positioned between the weft insertion levels. Furthermore, a three-position-non-open-shed Jacquard machine and a weaving machine are provided to carry out such a method, and a method to rearrange the harness suspension of a three-position-non-open-shed Jacquard machine.

  • Patent number: 7111647
Abstract: A weaving machine weaves pile fabrics having weft yarns, backing warp yarns, and pile warp yarns. One or several spacers extend between the pile warp yarns either to realize a constant pile height between two pile fabrics formed, or to determine the pile loop height in one or several pile fabrics comprising pile loops. One or several holders clamp the spacers. One or several shed forming devices, drive heddles through which backing and/or pile warp yarns extend to position these warp yarns with respect to the weft yarns. A zone for supplying pile warp yarns extends between a yam supply and the heddles. One or several holders installed between the yarn supply and the one or several shed forming devices clamp the spacers. The holders are installed outside the said supply zone, in such a manner that the pile warp yarns will extend into the supply zone without any hindrance.

  • Patent number: 7089967
Abstract: An equipment of a weaving machine in which pile warp yarns (7–13), (16–22) extend through the space between the reed dents and are distributed between a number of pile warp yarn systems and provided on the weaving machine to weave a pile fabric. A group of pile warp yarns (7–22) extend through each space between the reed dents and comprise pile warp yarns of at least two pile warp yarn systems (7–13), (16–22). Because of this it is possible to weave pile fabrics having higher pile densities at a certain reed setting. It is an easy and quick method to modify the equipment of a weaving machine, maintaining the reed setting and the pile warp yarns of each space between the reed dents being distributed between at least two pile warp yarn systems. Furthermore, a weaving process is provided in which, per space between the reed dents the pile warp yarns (7–13), (16–22) of at least two pile warp yarn systems are supplied and a pile fabric woven in that manner.
