  • Patent number: 6336478
Abstract: A shed-forming device, in particular an electronically controlled jacquard machine, with a number of combinations of at least two selection systems (3, 6 7), (5, 8, 9) respectively with selection elements provided one above the other. Each selection system comprises two hooks (6), (7), (8), (9) working together and that can be moved up and down by lifting device (13), (14) which can be selected by a selection element (3), (5). Hooks of different selection systems of a combination can be moved up and down, allowing for the use of simple selection elements. Two selection systems are provided per combination. This enables the number of selection systems with similar machine dimensions to be almost doubled in relation to the known devices.

  • Patent number: 6308743
Abstract: Device for weft cancellation on a weaving machine offers wefts (1), (2), (3) to at least one weft insertion (5), (6), (7) on a weaving machine, which can be operated in order either to bring a weft within the feed area of a weft insertion or to hold it out of this feed area, to effect a weft cancellation. The device has a yarn carrier (19) which can be moved by a weaving machine drive in order to bring a weft (2) within the aforementioned feed area. The device can be operated in order to bring the yarn carrier (19) and a weft (2) into a first and a second mutual position, in which this weft (2) can or cannot be carried along by the yarn carrier (19) within the aforementioned feed area. A first embodiment comprises a movable pusher element (22) that can be operated in order to bring a weft (2) into a first and into a second position in relation to the yarn carrier (19). In a second embodiment the yarn carrier (19) can itself be brought into two different positions.

  • Patent number: 6293314
Abstract: A selection system for pile yarns in a gripper Axminster weaving machine has a gripper associated with an elongated pile yarn carrier, and provided to position a number of yarn ends at mutual distance in the length direction of that carrier. Each pile yarn carrier is axially movable in its length direction to present a selected yarn to an associated gripper. A movable selection beam effects the axial movement of the pile yarn carriers, coordinated with the movement of the grippers, by protrusions and notches working together on the pile yarn carriers and on the selection beam. The engagement into each other of the aforesaid protrusions and notches can be selectively controlled in function of the yarns to be selected, in which the pile yarn carriers are predominantly horizontally disposed. The selection beam positively drives the pile yarn carriers in horizontal direction both in forward and in return movement.

  • Patent number: 6289941
Abstract: A method is provided for weaving a false boucle fabric with a rib structure on weaving machines in successive weft insertion cycles. In each cycle a top (1), (2), (3) and a bottom weft thread (4), (5), (6) are inserted between binding warp threads (9-12) and pattern warp threads (13-16) of a series of warp thread systems so that a fabric is woven. Top (1-3) and bottom weft threads (4-6) are inwoven by a respective set of binding warp threads (9, 10), (11, 12), thereby weaving two backing fabrics. Respective pattern warp threads (13), (14); (15), (16) are interlaced in a respective backing fabric and are rib-formingly passed around over a top (2), (3) or bottom weft thread (5), (6) running between the backing fabrics which is not inwoven by binding warp threads (9-12), so that two fabrics (17), (18) with a rib structure are woven one above the other.

  • Patent number: 6247506
Abstract: Method for manufacturing a fabric with a rib structure, in particular a false bouclé fabric, whereby a backing fabric is woven out of binding warp threads (7), (8) and weft threads (1), (2), whereby pattern warp threads (5), (6) are alternately interlaced in the backing fabric and along one side of the backing fabric are rib-formingly passed around at least one weft thread (3) running outside the backing fabric. A fabric is thus obtained with a rib structure on only one side. Because of this the consumption of pattern warp yarn can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 6247504
Abstract: A device for tensioning and drawing back warp yarns brought from a creel to a weaving machine. The tensioning and drawing back device keeps tension and if necessary draws back warp yarns (2) led from a bobbin (1) to a weaving machine. A supporting body (6) has a curved friction surface to support the warp yarn (2) between the bobbin (1) and the weaving machine. A first (7) and a second tensioning element (8) exert a tensile force on the warp yarn (2), respectively, in front of and behind the curved friction surface (6). The tensioning elements (7), (8) can be suspended from the warp yarn (2) and for example only through their own weight may exert this tensile force. This device easily draws back the warp yarn (2) out of the weaving area. The replacement of a bobbin (1) occurs without interruption or disturbance of the weaving process.

  • Patent number: 6182708
Abstract: A method for weaving face-to-face carpets consists of figures formed in an upper fabric and in a lower fabric. Different pile warp threads are woven-in alternately as non-working dead pile in the upper and lower fabrics to form figure-forming pile running from the upper fabric to the lower fabric and vice-versa. A double pile is woven-in with a transition in the weft direction from the figure-forming pile warp thread exiting the lower fabric to a figure-forming pile warp thread exiting the upper fabric. Carpet fabrics with face-to-face carpets separated into upper and lower fabrics is formed of different pile warp threads alternatively woven-in as non-working dead pile in the upper and lower fabrics which protrude as figure-forming pile. A color transition from one figure-forming pile warp thread to another figure-forming pile warp thread results in a woven-in double pile in the fabrics.
