  • Patent number: 11937134
Abstract: A wireless access node indicates available Radio Access Technology (RAT) types to a User Equipment (UE). The UE selects from the available RAT types and indicates the UE-selected RAT types to the wireless access node. The wireless access node transfers the UE-selected RAT types to a network controller. The network controller selects from the UE-selected RAT types and indicates the network-selected RAT types for the UE to the wireless access node. The wireless access node indicates the network-selected RAT types to the UE. In response, the UE and the wireless access node simultaneously exchange user data using the network-selected RAT types.

  • Patent number: 11937133
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for optimizing layer assignment to UEs that are currently on an LTE network, or that are experiencing EPS fallback and are moving from 5G to LTE. Instead of blindly assigning a UE an LTE layer or assigning the same layer to all UEs, aspects provided for an intelligent and dynamic selection of an LTE layer for each UE. • Patent number: 11930366
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to systems and methods for improving wireless network services by carrying out various procedures to identify and filter suspect user devices. A network function may monitor a plurality of network service requests from a particular user device and determine, based on the plurality of network services requests, that the requesting user device is engaged in suspicious activity. Upon such a determination, the network function may initiate one or more enforcement actions by communicating an instruction to an equipment identity register to add the requesting user device to a suspect device list stored on a unified data repository.

  • Patent number: 11930459
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for dynamically disabling beamforming functionality of one or more frequency bands. For example, a frequency band may have beamforming enabled. One or more user devices may be connected to the frequency band having beamforming enabled for access to a wireless telecommunications network. User devices connected with the frequency band may be at various locations of a network cell of the wireless telecommunications network (e.g., a cell center, middle cell, cell edge). Fading information may be received by one or more of the user devices connected with the frequency band. One or more fading channel measurements of the first frequency band may be above a threshold. In some embodiments, a fading channel measurement of the first frequency band is higher than another available frequency band having beamforming enabled. As such, beamforming of the first frequency band can be dynamically disabled.

  • Patent number: 11930559
Abstract: A wireless communication device controls Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) layers that use a radio band. The wireless communication device determines radio band status for the radio band. The wireless communication device wirelessly indicates the radio band status for the radio band to a wireless access node. The wireless access node selects a number of the MIMO layers based on the radio band status for the radio band. The wireless communication device wirelessly receives signaling from the wireless access node that indicates the number of the MIMO layers. The wireless access node wirelessly receives user data from the wireless access node over the radio band using the number of MIMO layers in response to the signaling.

  • Patent number: 11924655
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for dynamically adjusting a 4G LTE reference signal power level to match a 5G New Radio (NR) coverage footprint to avoid voice over 4G fallback failures for 5G subscribers. Initially, a subscriber making a voice call while in NR coverage may be directed to fall back to LTE in a process known as voice over evolved packet system fallback (VoEPSFB). If the LTE signal strength is worse due to non-optimal settings of the LTE reference signal, the subscriber experiences call setup failure. After the call setup failure, the UE transitions back to the gNodeB. Since the gNodeB knows the UE attempted to fall back to LTE (as well as how soon the UE transitioned back to the gNodeB), a notification is triggered that instructs the LTE base station to increase its reference signal power level.

  • Patent number: 11924006
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for performing channel estimation in a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) based cellular radio technology (e.g., 4G, 5G). Initially, the reference transmission receive power (RSRP) is reported for each antenna element, rather than as a single RSRP. This enables the base station to understand the channel condition for each MIMO transmission/reception. Using that understanding, the base station can determine the radio-frequency (RF) power level per antenna port to provide more enhanced transmission towards a specific UE, resulting in a better service experience. In other words, more accurate channel estimation based on actual RF conditions of a particular UE can be derived so the base station can tune to the actual need of the UE.

  • Patent number: 11917490
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media herein generate an E911 location report based on an uncertainty associated with a device-based hybrid (DBH) location received from a UE device. The uncertainty may be compared to an uncertainty threshold value to determine which values to include in a location report sent to a PSAP. A civic address associated with a UE device may be included in a location report where the uncertainty is sufficiently low, thus a location report can be sent to a PSAP with the most relevant and accurate information so that first responders can more effectively locate a distressed caller.
