  • Patent number: 4210335
Abstract: A baseball game including a gameboard having a baseball field design, four decks of cards and moveable pieces shaped as a baseball player. The decks of cards include a pitcher's deck, a batter's deck, a defense deck and a catcher's deck. The pitcher's deck comprises (a) strike cards which include an indicia designating infield or outfield and (b) ball cards. When a strike card is exposed, a batter card is exposed which may be a clean hit card, a ground ball card or a fly ball card. If a ground ball card or a fly ball card is exposed, the position on the batter card must match that of the strike card otherwise a strike is called. If the positions on the batter card and the pitcher card match, a defense card or catcher's card is exposed and the outcome of the hit ball is determined by the instructions on the defense card.

  • Patent number: 4210336
Abstract: A game apparatus including a game board and game pieces designed for two players is disclosed. The game board has a circular playing area comprising a plurality of zigzag game paths, each of which begins at the edge of the circle and terminates at the center. Individual game pieces are positioned around the circumference of the game board on the individual zigzag paths and also at the center of the circle on the game path terminus. The game pieces are moved, each on its own individual path, according to a set of rules governing each game piece. Rules are provided for "jumping" each other and "removing" opponent's pieces. The game paths sometimes intersect each other and sometimes lie alongside each other and the object of the game is achieved when the first game piece successfully traverses its pathway to the center. Further interest in the game is provided by the second set of game pieces located at the center circle and whose purpose is to "guard" the circle center.

  • Patent number: 4208054
Abstract: A board game includes player pieces of at least two types and a game board. The game board has a center area and player piece positions disposed in rows extending radially from the center area. Concentric movement paths connect the player piece positions of different rows and include first designations to indicate that any type of player piece may move along the concentric movement paths between the player piece positions. Radial movement paths connect player piece positions of the same row and include second designations to indicate that only one type of player piece may move along the radial movement path between two player positions. The second designations alternately mark the radial movement path between player piece positions such that any one type of the player pieces may move between only two player piece positions along the radial movement path before moving along a concentric movement path.

  • Patent number: 4205851
Abstract: An improved board game is disclosed comprising a novel game board having a first, second and a third major board section. A first minor board section is interposed between the first and second major board sections, whereas a second minor board section is interposed between the second and third major board sections. Flexible hinges are provided to connect the major and minor board sections, enabling the game board to be folded along the flexible hinges. A first and a second elevational member respectively, project from the first and second major board sections of the game board. The first and second elevational members may take the form of a rotatable random selecting spinner device or a decorative ornament structure pertinent to the subject matter of the game. The first and second elevational members are established such that one of the elevational members is receivable in the other of the elevational members, enabling the board to be folded with the major board sections being substantially parallel.

  • Patent number: 4201386
Abstract: An apparatus for constructing the genealogies of famous and/or noble individuals is disclosed. The device consists of a board or pedigree surface and a series of 63 prism-like structures--one for the subject and one for each of his (her) 62 ancestors over the preceding five generations. Each of these prism-like structures contains nominal information on a particular individual as well as a short biographical sketch or anecdote. Included in the sketch or anecdote is that individual's relationship to one or more members of the family tree. These familial relationships enable users to correctly place ancestors with the aid of certain known points within the pedigree. These known points are board positions which are labeled with the same nominal information as found on the prism-like structures. The great majority of board positions, however, are unlabeled and the proper ancestor for each of these sites must be deduced from familial relationships contained in the biographical sketches.

  • Patent number: 4201388
Abstract: A game based upon the religious novel Pilgrim's Progress in which spiritual and moral values are an integral part thereof. A game board is divided into two sections of play and displays a path of travel, as in Pilgrim's Progress, along which the participants each move a marker, with progress along the path being determined by the turn of a spinner/compass, having two levels governing play over the two sections of the display path, or by a pair of dice, governing the direction and duration of diversions from the main path. There are corresponding sets of question and answer cards, with the question cards containing a biblical quotation with key words deleted therefrom and possible answer words provided therebelow, and with the answer cards indicating the correct words to be filled into the quotation. Winners are determined in two ways. One winner is the one whose marker first reaches the end point after traversing the entire path.

  • Patent number: 4192512
Abstract: A board game designed arounda "monster" theme wherein the object of the game is to proceed from a starting area to a weapons pickup area while avoiding capture by the monster and after pick up of a weapon to be the first to hunt down and destroy the monster. The board game apparatus includes a game board having a playing surface and a travel path defined by a plurality of spaced apart play stations extending between a starting area and the pickup area for weapons. A plurality of playing pieces are adapted to be moved along the travel path between the play stations and a chance device is utilized for directing the movement of the playing pieces along the travel path. The game board playing surface also includes a plurality of spaced apart foot spaces arranged in pairs to straddle the travel path. A toy figure in the form of a monster having spaced apart feet is adapted to stand on pairs of the foot spaces and straddle the travel path when the monster is in a standing position.

  • Patent number: 4185832
Abstract: A pursuit game apparatus which includes a board divided into two segments in visual isolation of each other, each segment having a plurality of electrical connectors thereon within a design pattern and a moveable probe, with both the design and connector location being identical in each segment. Each connector on one segment is electrically connected to a connector in the corresponding location on the other segment. An electrical power supply and an indicator connected in series with the probes produce a signal indicative of positioning of the two probes in identical complementary connectors in each segment. A die and instruction card means restrict the movement and location of each probe introducing a variation of the pure chance element in the position matching process.

  • Patent number: 4184685
Abstract: A three dimensional game is provided comprising upper and lower playing fields each divided into corresponding first and second playing areas. Each playing area is provided with the same number of game piece locations, and the upper and lower playing fields are oriented for the first and second playing areas on the upper field to respectively overlie the second and first playing areas on the lower field. Two sets of game pieces are provided each of a number corresponding to the number of game piece locations provided in the two playing areas of one of the playing fields. The game is played by initially placing all of the game pieces in the corresponding one of the two playing areas in the upper field, thus completely filling the corresponding playing area. The players then, in sequential turn, move their respective game pieces into the corresponding playing area of the lower playing field other than by direct movements thereinto from the corresponding upper playing area.
