  • Patent number: 9189051
Abstract: A circuit arrangement, method, and program product communicate data over a communication bus by selectively encoding data values queued for communication over the communication bus based at least in part on at least one data value queued to be communicated thereafter and at least one previously communicated encoded data value to reduce bit transitions for communication of the encoded data values. By reducing bit transitions in the data communicated over the communication bus, power consumption by the communication bus is likewise reduced.

  • Patent number: 9192065
Abstract: An acceleration sensor detects an acceleration. A timer measures elapsed time. A calculation means calculates jerk J of a remote controller on the basis of an acceleration detected by the acceleration sensor. A factor determination means determines whether a user is holding the remote controller in his/her hand on the basis of the change of the jerk J that is obtained from an index value calculated by the calculation means and an amount of time measured by the timer. A sleep control means turns on display of a display if the factor determination means determines that the user is holding the remote controller in his/her hand.

  • Patent number: 9164569
Abstract: A data processing apparatus includes first and second information processing apparatuses. The first information processing apparatus has a first power mode and a second power mode in which electric power consumption is smaller than in the first power mode. The second information processing apparatus is capable of communicating with the first information processing apparatus and an external apparatus via a network. Definition information including identification information identifying a packet received via the network and process information indicating a process to be performed on the packet is received at least from one of the first information processing apparatus and the external apparatus. If a packet is received from the external apparatus in the second power mode, the packet is analyzed to identify definition information corresponding to the packet based on the identification information. A process is performed according to the process information included in the definition information.

  • Patent number: 9158350
Abstract: Embodiments of an apparatus for implementing a display port interface are disclosed. The apparatus may include a source processor and a sink processor coupled through an interface. The interface may include a primary link, and an auxiliary link. The source processor may be operable to send a wake-up command to the sink processor via the auxiliary link, which may indicate a change in frequency on the primary link. The source processor to the sink processor via the primary link may send initialization parameters, which may include a clock data recovery lock parameter and an idle parameter.

  • Patent number: 9122466
Abstract: Reconfiguring a power system for an electrical load includes establishing a secondary feed to an electrical load that is receiving power from a primary power source. A set of secondary feed lines is coupled between a donor power source and a power input to the electrical load such that the set of secondary feed lines is configured to supply power from the donor power source to the electrical load. An automatic transfer switch is coupled in parallel with the set of secondary feed lines. The electrical load is transferred by the automatic transfer switch from the donor power source to the primary power source for the reconfiguration.

  • Patent number: 9116639
Abstract: Embodiments of an apparatus for implementing a display port interface are disclosed. The apparatus may include a source processor and a sink processor coupled through an interface. The interface may include a primary link, an auxiliary link, and a hot plug detect link. The source processor may be operable to send a wake-up command to the sink processor via the auxiliary link. The source processor may send initialization parameters to the sink processor via the primary link. The initialization parameters may include a clock data recovery lock parameter and an idle parameter. Following the initialization parameters, the source processor may send a synchronization signal to the sink processor via the primary link. The source processor may then send a sleep command via the primary link to the sink processor.

  • Patent number: 9086868
Abstract: The hub device includes a USB hub IC; a voltage converter that converts a source voltage supplied to the Hub device into a source voltage to be supplied to the USB device/devices connected to the plurality of downstream ports, and, in a case that the USB device/devices is/or in an abnormal condition, outputs a signal notifying the abnormal condition; and a plurality of switch units that interrupts a source voltage to the USB device/devices, and outputs an overcurrent detection signal when overcurrent flows into the USB device/devices, wherein the USB hub IC includes a plurality of overcurrent detection terminals into which the overcurrent detection signal from the plurality of switch units is input, and a signal notifying the abnormal condition causes the plurality of overcurrent detection terminals of the USB hub IC to be in an overcurrent detection condition.
