Abstract: A system for perspective based tagging and visualization of avatars in a virtual world may include determining if another avatar has moved within a predetermined proximity range of a user's avatar in a virtual world. The system may also include allowing the user to tag the other avatar with information in response to the other avatar being within the predetermined proximity range of the user's avatar.

Abstract: Emotional state data is used to tailor the user experience of an interactive software system, by monitoring and obtaining data about a user's emotional state. The resulting emotional state data is analyzed and used to dynamically modify the user's experience by selecting user experience components based on the analysis of the user's emotional state data. In this way, different types of user experience components can be utilized to provide the user with an individualized user experience that is adapted to the user's emotional state. Different types of user experience components can be utilized to adjust the user experience to adapt to the user's new emotional state, prevent the user from entering an undesirable emotional state, and/or encourage the user to enter into a desirable emotional state.

An example method may include identifying a media access control (MAC) address associated with a server, the MAC address including a vendor identifier and a server identifier; determining a first color in view of the vendor identifier and a second color in view of the server identifier; determining a first shape in view of the vendor identifier and a second shape in view of the server identifier; generating a shape-based icon comprising the first shape having the first color and the second shape having the second color; and providing the user interface to display the shape-based icon that visually represents the server.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for handling contact information in a communication device. The method can include a step of presenting content within a visual interface of the communication device. A contact detection algorithm can execute to detect contact items included in the content. A visual indication can be presented next to each detected contact item. User input can be received, which causes the communication device to perform a contact action relating to one of the contact items. The contact action can add contact information to an address book, can initiate a communication session, and/or can place the contact item in a memory space for later use by an application other than one in which the content was presented.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable mediums for managing a subset of user contacts on a telecommunications device are provided. In one embodiment, a software application executed by a processor of a telecommunications device determines at least two contact groups from a subset of contacts accessible by a telecommunications device. The software application executed by the processor of the telecommunications device also generates a contact display including at least one contact group associated with the subset of contacts based on a current context of a user of the telecommunications device. The current context can include, for example, one or more of a location, time, date, and the like.

Abstract: Techniques are described for providing visualizations of data with options for a user to manipulate the data visualizations. These data visualization options may provide flexible and rapid comparison of different fragments of data. In one example, a method includes outputting a display of a data visualization in a graphical user interface. The method further includes receiving a first user input selecting a first fragment of the data visualization to freeze. The method further includes receiving a second user input selecting a second fragment of the data visualization to reposition to a new position relative to the frozen fragment of the data visualization. The method further includes outputting a revised display of the data visualization in the graphical user interface that displays the repositioned fragment of the data visualization in the new position relative to the frozen fragment of the data visualization.

Abstract: Provided herein are systems, methods, and software for facilitating a video conference environment. In at least one implementation, video captured of a scene is received. A modification to display of the video is identified based at least in part on a share of a display space associated with an object in the scene relative to a share of another display space associated with another object in another scene. The modification to the display of the video is then initiated. In another implementation, the modification may also be based on a target share indicated by way of an interactive graphic.

Abstract: Asset data streams are provided that facilitate the display of large numbers of media assets. Encoded asset data streams provide approximated aspect ratio information for media assets to be used in determining a position for each media asset in a dataset, thus being able to position all of the media assets in a media asset arrangement prior to being scrolled into view by the user. By communicating aspect ratio approximations as part of an encoded asset data stream of data to a web application, a user is able to scroll to any part of a dataset (e.g., a photo library) when presented in the web application without having to wait on the receipt of information for all media assets. Encoded asset data streams may further include asset identification offsets that indicate a sequential ordering of the individual assets in a dataset.

Abstract: A method, item communication arrangement and a computer program product communicate items representing process control objects to a user of a wireless terminal in a process control system. The arrangement includes an item communication control unit providing the items representing process control objects and configured to continuously determine weights of the items and visually communicate items to the user via the wireless terminal in an order defined by the weights of the items.
