Abstract: A mobile terminal and a control method thereof are provided. The mobile terminal comprises a wireless communication unit, a display (151) configured to display an image, and a controller configured to display a first input area overlapping with at least part of the image in response to a first touch applied to the display (151) and to transmit data based on a touch trace corresponding to a second touch of a user, which is acquired through the displayed first input area, to a client terminal (200, 300) including one or more other terminals through the wireless communication unit in real time, the first input area having translucent property to allow the overlap image to be recognized. According to the present invention, data corresponding to a touch applied to an input area can be transmitted to a client terminal to achieve each data exchange.

Abstract: A predictive contextual toolbar is presented that provides an identifiable region on which predicted commands can be surfaced. This user interface can be presented in cases where an indication of a request for a command (such as a formatting tool) is received, for example, while a user is interacting with a canvas of a productivity application. When conditions for surfacing a predictive command are met, the system can display an identifiable region on which predicted commands are surfaced according to context associated with the conditions for surfacing the predictive command. The identifiable region may be an extension of a mini toolbar. One or more dynamic predicted commands can be surfaced on the identifiable region to provide easily accessible, user specific, context related commands.

Abstract: Methods and systems for presenting instant messaging contacts are provided. At a computing device having one or more processors that execute one or more programs stored in memory of the computing device there is obtained, from a first electronic device, a first online status of an instant messaging contact. The instant messaging contact is logged-in, at the first electronic device, with respect to an instant message application. Further there is obtained a second online status of the instant messaging contact from a second electronic device. The instant messaging contact is also logged-in, at the second electronic device, with respect to the instant message application. There is determined, with respect to the instant messaging application, an overall online status for the instant messaging contact using the first online status and the second online status.

Abstract: Provided are a device and method for displaying an execution result of an application. A method of displaying an execution result of an application includes: in response to a user input, displaying execution results of a plurality of applications, which are being executed in the device, in a plurality of windows that are displayed in at least two display modes; arranging the plurality of windows, which show execution results of the plurality of windows, to be adjacent to each other and displaying the plurality of windows on a display; receiving a user input when the plurality of windows are displayed on the display; and scrolling the plurality of windows in response to the user input.

Abstract: Sharing resources by users of computing devices includes providing, at each computing device, a respective viewport to a common desktop environment that has the shared resources. The desktop is independently viewable and independently navigable through each respective viewport. Furthermore, each of the resources is independently viewable and able to be independently acted upon through each respective viewport. One or more resources of each computing device may be added to the desktop environment through the respective viewport of the computing device. A search user interface is provided for text string searching of resources of a respective viewport by a user at the computing device of the respective viewport; and an application launcher view user interface is provided for launching applications, which is viewable by clicking on an open space of the desktop environment as seen through the respective viewport, and by which launchable applications are searchable.

Abstract: Examples disclosed herein relate to translation of touch input into local input based on a translation profile for an application. Examples include translating touch input into local input based on a translation profile for an application in focus, if the translation profile is accessible. Examples further include providing the touch input to an operating system if no translation profile for the application in focus is accessible and the operating system is able to utilize touch input.

Abstract: A high-speed scroll contents display system includes: a web document providing apparatus, as a user terminal is connected, a web document created in a web description language to the connected user terminal; and the user terminal for receiving the web document from the web document providing apparatus, displaying the web document as a web page screen on a mobile browser, and performing, if movement of a touched state on the web page screen is sensed, a contents scroll in correspondence to a sensed moving direction, repeating an operation of performing a high-speed scroll on contents while reducing a speed according to an ease function in a flicking direction of a sensed flick, stopping movement of the screen for a predetermined time period, and moving again the screen reducing the speed according to the ease function when the predetermined time period is elapsed, until an end of the flick is sensed.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for providing to a user rapid access to search resources while interacting with electronic documents by providing for recognition of user initiated search triggers that result in searches being performed with minimal user input or page navigation. The method and system includes generating, by a server computer, a web page, injecting code into the web page, and transmitting the web page to a client computer. The code, when executed on the client computer, detects a search interface trigger occurring during display of the web page, the search interface trigger not associated with an input focus of the web page or of a browser on the client computer, detects a search execution trigger after the detecting of the search interface trigger, and transmits, to a search entity, a request for search results related to content associated with the search interface trigger.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method of facilitating the selection of multiple items at an electronic device having a touch sensitive display and for receiving user input, the device, comprising: displaying on the display a grid list of icons representing selectable items, the icons being ordered in the grid: in rows extending in a first direction and being arranged consecutively in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction, the grid list comprising at least one column; or in columns extending in a first direction and being arranged consecutively in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction, the grid list comprising at least one row; and, in response to the device receiving user input in the form of a touch starting from a first icon and continuing forwards or backwards in the first direction, causing items represented by icons adjacent to the first icon forwards or backwards in the ordered grid list to be selected consecutively.

Abstract: A graphical user interface for a computer includes a dial control. The control can be implemented, for example, as a touch-based, pointer-based, pen-based and/or keyboard-based mechanism. The dial control is intended for manipulating a large range of values, such as a menu of items from which a user makes a selection, or a range of continuous or discrete values. A dial control can replace other control types such as a slider, drop down menu or text field. The graphical elements of the dial control include one or more displayed rings and a handle for each ring. Inside the ring, or in another area adjacent the ring, a value can be displayed. The ring can be manipulated by the user to change the value selected by the dial control. In the case of multiple rings, each ring can be manipulated independently.

Abstract: An access code can be generated by a primary device and interpreted by a secondary device for the purpose of presenting, on the secondary device, additional content related to an application running on the primary device. The access code can be a two dimensional graphic or QR code that can be easily captured by a camera unit of the secondary device. Once captured, additional content related to the running application can be identified and displayed on the secondary device.

Abstract: A content publisher can use a publisher tool to tag various content elements, which enables a user viewing content from the publisher to view related advertising. In at least some embodiments, the tool is a toolbar that the publisher can use to tag content elements such as images and text, whereby the toolbar can recommend related items to be linked to those content elements. The items can be associated with an entity, such as an advertiser or electronic retailer, that will provide some level of compensation to the publisher in return for the linking. Such an approach enables the publisher to monetize the content in a way that is minimally intrusive for the end user.

Abstract: A method including causing, at least in part, rendering of a user interface for a location-based service that simultaneously includes both a main view portion and a preview portion. One of the main view portion and the preview portion is caused, at least in part, to display a perspective view of one or more objects in a field of view, and the other of the main view portion and the preview portion is caused, at least in part, to display a plan view of at least a portion of the one or more objects in the field of view.

Abstract: A touch device and a control method thereof are provided. In the control method, a sensing signal generated by a sensor is received. When an operating object is present, a touch screen is configured for touchable regions and untouchable regions, wherein the untouchable regions cannot generate a response through a touch by the operating object. A gesture is received on the untouchable regions of the touch screen, a processor determines whether the gesture is conformed to a default gesture setting, and the processor decides whether or not to adjust part or all of the untouchable regions to the touchable regions according to the determining result. Accordingly, the touch device and the control method thereof of the embodiments of the invention can prevent or lower the occurrence of an accidental touch by a user and enhance the operating convenience of the user.

Abstract: Provided herein is a method, apparatus and computer program product for presenting information relating to two or more applications on a partitioned display of a device. In particular, the method of example embodiments may include partitioning, by a processor, a display into a first region and a second region, where the first region is associated with a first application and the second region is associated with a second application. The method may further include providing for display of the first application across the first region and the second region, providing for display of a notification related to the first application in the first region, and providing for display of a notification related to the second application in the second region.

Abstract: In one example, a method includes outputting, for display at a presence-sensitive display, a graphical user interface comprising a graphical keyboard that includes a group of keys, wherein each key in the group of keys is associated with a respective, different region of the presence-sensitive display. The method further includes receiving an indication of a gesture to select a sequence of one or more keys in the group of keys of the graphical keyboard. The method further includes determining, based at least in part on the indication of the gesture, that the gesture includes at least one feature associated with a cancellation of the selected sequence of one or more keys. The method further includes, in response to determining that the gesture includes the at least one feature associated with the cancellation, omitting the selected sequence of one or more keys from entry to a text input field.

Abstract: An electronic device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface displays a page of a first multi-page section of a document and a navigation bar configured to navigate through only pages in the first multi-page section of the document. The device detects a predefined gesture at a location on the touch-sensitive surface that corresponds to a predefined portion of the navigation bar. In response to detecting the predefined gesture, the device displays a navigation user interface that enables selection of a page of the document that is outside of the first multi-page section. The device receives an input in the navigation user interface that indicates selection of a page of a second multi-page section of the document outside of the first multi-page section. In response to receiving the input, the device displays the selected page of the second multi-page section of the document.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method and computing system for generating a slideshow is provided. The method may include generating, using one or more computing devices, an event page corresponding to a particular event, the event page associated with a social network. The method may also include allowing access to the event page to one or more members of the social network. The method may further include receiving at least one photograph at the event page from the one or more members of the social network, displaying the at least one photograph at the event page and generating a slideshow based upon, at least in part, the at least one photograph received at the event page.

Abstract: A communications terminal (200) including a user interface communicably coupled to a controller is configured to form a group of contacts. In one embodiment, the terminal displays only contacts having at least two attributes in common. In another embodiment, the terminal displays a group of contacts having a social relationship with at least two degrees of social separation relative to a user associated with the group. In another embodiment, a group of contacts is formed upon initiation of an application at the terminal, wherein all contacts in the group are associated with terminals running the same application and are also engaged in a common activity.

Abstract: An electronic device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface stores a document having primary content, supplementary content, and user-generated content. The device displays a representation of the document in a segmented user interface on the display. Primary content of the document is displayed in a first segment of the segmented user interface and supplementary content of the document is concurrently displayed in a second segment of the segmented user interface distinct from the first segment. The device receives a request to view user-generated content of the document. In response to the request, the device maintains display of the previously displayed primary content, ceases to display at least a portion of the previously displayed supplementary content, and displays user-generated content of the document in a third segment of the segmented user interface distinct from the first segment and the second segment.
