  • Patent number: 8250250
Abstract: In an embodiment, an integrated circuit includes a direct memory access (DMA) controller configured to perform DMA operations between peripheral components of the integrated circuit and/or a memory to which the integrated circuit is configured to be coupled. Combinations of memory-to-memory, memory-to-peripheral, and peripheral-to-memory operations may be used. The DMA controller may be programmed to perform a number of DMA operations concurrently. The DMA operations may be programmed and performed as part of testing the integrated circuit during design and/or manufacture of the integrated circuit. The DMA operations may cause many of the components in the integrated circuit to be busy performing various operations. In some embodiments, programmed input/output (PIO) operations may also be performed while the DMA operations are in progress. In some embodiments, various parameters of the DMA operations and/or PIO operations may be randomized.

  • Patent number: 8250246
Abstract: A host communicates a firmware module to an electronic device utilizing a data communication interface (e.g., I2C). The host may also communicate a set of values representing information associated with execution of the firmware module to the electronic device. The host may utilize commands and/or flags to execute the firmware module at the electronic device. The electronic device executes the firmware module without resetting/suspending an ongoing execution of the electronic device. In some embodiments, the electronic device collects data upon execution of the firmware module. The collected data may be stored to a particular location of the electronic device and retrieved later by the host, or returned directly to the host.

  • Patent number: 8244919
Abstract: A data transfer apparatus, system and method using the same are provided. A data transfer system according to an exemplary embodiment includes a user process space, a kernel space and a hardware space. A plurality of user processes are executed in the user process space. The kernel space includes a kernel thread. The hardware space performs an input/output according to the input/output request of the each user process. When input data based on the input request are received to the hardware space, the data transfer system checks whether the user process requesting the input is in an execution state, and allows the kernel thread to copy the input data from the kernel space to the user process space when the user process is in the execution state.

Firstly, a blade server system with M blade server units, which includes a number of server blades and a modular management blade (MMB), is provided, wherein the M MMBs are connected with each other via network paths and M is a natural number greater than 1. Then a master MMB among the M MMBs are selected in response to first user operation event. Next, the network parameter data of the master MMB are set in response to second user operation event. Then network topology of the master MMB and the rest of M?1 MMBs are obtained via the master MMB. After that, the rest of M?1 MMBs are driven for utilizing a network protocol service so that the M?1 MMBs are able to receive network parameter data from the master MMB and carry out parameter setting accordingly.

  • Patent number: RE47228
Abstract: Transmitter and receiver units for use in an OFDM communications system and configurable to support multiple types of services. The transmitter unit includes one or more encoders, a symbol mapping element, and a modulator. Each encoder receives and codes a respective channel data stream to generate a corresponding coded data stream. The symbol mapping element receives and maps data from the coded data streams to generate modulation symbol vectors, with each modulation symbol vector including a set of data values used to modulate a set of tones to generate an OFDM symbol. The modulator modulates the modulation symbol vectors to provide a modulated signal suitable for transmission. The data from each coded data stream is mapped to a respective set of one or more “circuits”. Each circuit can be defined to include a number of tones from a number of OFDM symbols, a number of tones from a single OFDM symbol, all tones from one or more OFDM symbols, or some other combination of tones.
