  • Patent number: 11863478
Abstract: A base station (100, 300) is provided with a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter (109) transmits a downlink signal in a downlink transmission region, in a time unit that includes the downlink transmission region, an uplink transmission region, and a gap period that is a switching point between the downlink transmission region and the uplink transmission region. The receiver (111) receives an uplink signal in the uplink transmission region, in the time unit. Furthermore, a delay tolerant signal for which a delay is tolerated more than for the downlink signal and the uplink signal is mapped to within the gap period.

  • Patent number: 11856596
Abstract: Techniques include retrieving from storage a plurality of policies for sharing a shared channel among nodes in a data communications network. The plurality of polices define a tree of periodic schedules of variable periods, each policy defines a transmit time slot as a unique slot i of a modulus of a power m of a base b of a series of time slots, where m indicates a level of the tree of periodic schedules. The method also includes; observing at a first node the probabilities of empty time slots, successful time slots, and collision time slots on the shared channel; selecting at the first node a first policy among the plurality of policies based on the probabilities observed instead of a message received from a central authority; and transmitting a local data packet from the first node onto the shared channel at a transmit time based on the first policy.

  • Patent number: 11855913
Abstract: An example hierarchical switching device may include sub-switches that form a fully interconnected all-to-all network, wherein the sub-switches comprise external output ports, internal input ports and internal output ports to exchange packets with other sub-switches within the fully interconnected all-to-all network. The switching device may further include a deadlockable storage, a storage partition and a switch controller. The deadlockable storage space is exclusively assigned to an internal input port of the internal input ports of the sub-switch including the deadlockable storage. The storage partition is exclusively assigned to an external output port of the external output ports and exclusively assigned to the internal input port. The switch controller is to route a packet destined for an external output port of a sub-switch through the internal input port of the sub-switch to the deadlockable storage or if the packet corresponds to the external output port, to the storage partition.

  • Patent number: 11848898
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques leverage user equipment (UE) functionality to repeat wireless signals received from a base station to one or more other UEs and received from one or more other UEs to the base station. The repeating UE receives, during a transmission time interval reserved for one of uplink communication or downlink communication, a signal from a first device. The UE operates in a time division duplex network. The UE routes the signal, via a radio-frequency (RF) transmission path from an RF receive chain of the UE to an RF transmit chain of the UE. The UE retransmits the signal to a second device during the transmission time interval.

  • Patent number: 11844089
Abstract: Group transmission of data from a group of User Equipment devices to a network node of a cellular communication system where communication between devices is effected by device-to-device technology can provide significant improvements in uplink coverage and user bit rate. However, the benefits of group transmission means that not all devices of a group have sufficient network coverage to reliably receive a grant signal scheduling uplink resources from a network node. Methods, devices and a network node are proposed that enable the dynamic selection of either a direct grant mode, in which each device receives the uplink grant directly from the network, or a relayed grant mode, in which a device acting as group coordinator relays the grant to all members of the group, to ensure optimal performance for group transmissions. The selection is dependent on at least one determined condition relating to the group of devices and/or the group transmission.

  • Patent number: 11838396
Abstract: In one embodiment, Ethernet Virtual Private Network (EVPN) is implemented using Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) Segment Routing (SRv6) underlay network and SRv6-enhanced Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) signaling. A particular route associated with a particular Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) Segment Routing (SRv6) Segment Identifier (SID) is advertised in a particular route advertisement message of a routing protocol (e.g., BGP). The SID includes encoding representing a particular Ethernet Virtual Private Network (EVPN) Layer 2 (L2) flooding Segment Routing end function of the particular router and a particular Ethernet Segment Identifier (ESI), with the particular SID including a routable prefix to the particular router. The particular router receives a particular packet including the particular SID; and in response, the particular router performs the particular EVPN end function on the particular packet.

  • Patent number: 11804870
Abstract: In a broadband wireless communication system, a spread spectrum signal is intentionally overlapped with an OFDM signal, in a time domain, a frequency domain, or both. The OFDM signal, which inherently has a high spectral efficiency, is used for carrying broadband data or control information. The spread spectrum signal, which is designed to have a high spread gain for overcoming severe interference, is used for facilitating system functions such as initial random access, channel probing, or short messaging. Methods and techniques are devised to ensure that the mutual interference between the overlapped signals is minimized to have insignificant impact on either signal and that both signals are detectable with expected performance by a receiver.
