  • Patent number: 11696314
Abstract: A communication system is disclosed in which a base station communicates with machine-type-communication (MTC) devices by dividing the base station's cell bandwidth into (non-overlapping) narrowbands. The base station identifies, based on a communication received from a communication device, a capability of that communication device to retune between narrowbands, and provides, to that communication device, control information for controlling how that communication device retunes between different narrowbands, wherein the control information is based on the identified capability of that communication device to retune between narrowbands.

  • Patent number: 11696212
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for establishing and maintaining a network having two or more subscribers, based on radio connections between the subscribers in accordance with a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) standard, each subscriber being uniquely characterized by way of a subscriber identifier (node ID). Provision is made in that context that clusters having one subscriber, or several subscribers connected by means of BLE network connections, are formed; that a unique cluster identifier (cluster ID) is allocated to each cluster; that a first subscriber of a first cluster selects a second subscriber, located within range of a BLE connection, from a second cluster that is smaller or of the same size, and causes it to be detached from the second cluster and integrated into the first cluster by way of a BLE network connection to the first subscriber. The invention further relates to a beacon for carrying out the method.

  • Patent number: 11689448
Abstract: Some embodiments provide techniques for optimized programming of forwarding data in network device hardware. An operating system executing on the network device receives information associated with a network topology of a network(s) to which the network device belongs. Based on this information, the operating system can generate various data structures that facilitate the routing and forwarding of data through the network device. Based on the generated data structures, the operating system may then program hardware resources in the network device in order to implement routing and forwarding operations stored in the data structures. During generation of the data structures, the operating system may perform some operations to optimize the programing of the hardware resources in a manner that reduces the amount of hardware resources that would otherwise be used without such optimizations.

  • Patent number: 11683826
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may monitor sets of decoding candidates over a search space in each monitoring occasion to detect downlink control transmissions. Such a monitoring process may be resource intensive. To reduce the processing power involved in monitoring the control channel, a UE may measure resources associated with the downlink control channel to obtain a quality metric. The UE may compare the quality metric to one or more thresholds and may perform a decoding process on a set of configured decoding candidates for the downlink control channel based on the comparing. In some cases, if the channel quality is relatively good, the UE may perform a list decoding process using a list size less than a maximum list size or may perform partial data tone processing to reduce the processing complexity for some of the decoding candidates.

  • Patent number: 11641412
Abstract: Frame formatting for communications within single user, multiple user, multiple access, and/or MIMO wireless communications. A signal is processed within a communication device using at least two respective downclocking ratios (e.g., a first downclocking ratio applied to a first portion of the signal such as a frame or packet extracted there from, a second downclocking ratio applied to a second portion of the signal). Alternatively, a signal is divided into more than two respective portions, and different respective downclocking ratios are applied to those different respective portions (e.g., a first downclocking ratio applied to a first portion of the signal, and so on up to an n-th downclocking ratio applied to an n-th portion of the signal). Some implementations apply a singular or common downclocking ratio to more than one portion of the signal (which may be contiguous/adjacent or non-contiguous/non-adjacent within the signal).

  • Patent number: 11616694
Abstract: The disclosure provides a method for determining a configuration mismatch between a first device and a second device. During operation, a first device receives a plurality of Unidirectional Link Detection (UDLD) protocol messages from a second device. The first device is configured with a first interval configuration value corresponding to a frequency which the first device sends the UDLD protocol messages to the second device. The first device determines a second interval configuration value of the second device, which corresponds to a frequency which the second device sends the UDLD protocol messages to the first device. The first device determines that there is a configuration mismatch between the first device and the second device, and creates a log entry for the configuration mismatch, the log entry including the first and second interval configuration values.

  • Patent number: 11606825
Abstract: A RAN node (2) receives, from a core network node (6, 7, 8), a first identifier that is used by a service, an application, or an edge server (5) to identify a radio terminal (1) connected to the RAN node (2), and associates the first identifier with a second identifier that is used by the RAN node (2) to identify the radio terminal (1). Further, the RAN node (2) communicates with the edge server (5) using the first identifier. It is thus, for example, possible to allow an MEC server (or an MEC application hosted on the MEC server) and a radio access network (RAN) node to directly exchange therebetween a control message regarding a specific radio terminal.
