  • Patent number: 11563698
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include methods for handling packets in a communications network. In one embodiment, a method is implemented in an electronic device. The method includes at a first end of a queue in the electronic device, determining admission of a first packet to the first end of the queue based on a length of the first packet, where when the admission of the first packet would cause the queue to become full, the admission is further based on a packet value of the first packet and a data structure tracking packet value distribution of packets in the queue. The method further includes at a second end of the queue, dropping a second packet from the second end of the queue when the second packet's corresponding packet value is marked as to be dropped in the data structure upon admitting packets to the first end of the queue.

  • Patent number: 11558106
Abstract: A communication uplink between a UAV and a base station is established using frequency division duplex (FDD) communication and a communication downlink between the UAV and the base station using time division duplex (TDD) communication. A determination of whether the UAV is located above an antenna height threshold is then made. When the UAV is located above the antenna height threshold, the communication uplink is transitioned from using the FDD communication to using the TDD communication while the use of the TDD communication is continued for the communication downlink. When the UAV is located at or below the antenna height threshold, the use of the FDD communication is continued for the communication uplink and the TDD communication for the communication downlink.

  • Patent number: 11546103
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for scheduling uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) physical layer resources for a serving node and a user equipment (UE) for round trip time (RTT) and observed time difference of arrival (OTDOA) based positioning. In an aspect, a serving node and/or a network entity configure the UL and DL physical layer resources, and inform the UE. A network node transmits RTT measurement (RTTM) signal to the UE and receives RTT response (RTTR) signals from the UE. The network node measures the times the RTTM signals are transmitted and the times the RTTR signals are received. The UE provides to serving node processing times indicating a duration between the UE receiving the RTTM signals and the UE transmitting the RTTR signals. The RTTs are calculated from the times measured by the network node and the processing times provided by the UE.

  • Patent number: 11533777
Abstract: In modern networks, RRU and BBU equipment of an access point site typically handles traffic from a single sector. An RRU-BBU pair process that traffic (often limited to a single spectrum from a single sector) according to implemented capabilities and other equipment located further upstream perform functions that rely on information from multiple sectors. An integrated device (e.g., white box) can integrate the functionality of multiple RRU (or NR in 5G) and the functionality of multiple BBU (or DU/CU splits in 5G), which can reduce implementation footprint, costs, and can provide related services more efficiently without going upstream.

  • Patent number: 11528704
Abstract: The disclosure provides method and device in used in User Equipment (UE) and base station for wireless communication. The UE receives a first signaling in a first time window, then receives a second signaling group in a second time window, the second signaling group being used for indicating K2 candidate frequency band resource(s), and monitors a third signaling in a second frequency band resource; the second signaling group includes Q1 physical layer signaling(s); the second frequency band resource is one of the K2 candidate frequency band resource(s), and a first field in the first signaling is used for determining the second frequency band resource from the K2 candidate frequency band resource(s). Through determining the second frequency band resource from the K2 candidate frequency band resource(s) dynamically, the disclosure improves frequency band utilization on unlicensed spectrum under the premise of guaranteeing scheduling flexibility, thereby improving overall performances of the system.

  • Patent number: 11522658
Abstract: A method of identifying reference signal resources to be used in a transmission by a wireless device is disclosed. The method comprises a wireless device receiving signaling configuring the wireless device with a plurality of reference signal resource groups, each group comprising a plurality of reference signal resources. The wireless device subsequently receives an indication, in a control channel, of a selection of reference signal resources to be used. Each of the plurality of reference signal resources to be used is selected from a different one of the plurality of reference signal resource groups such that reference signal resources belonging to the same reference signal resource group are not selected for simultaneous use. A reference signal is then transmitted to a network node in the network using the indicated selection of reference signal resources.
