  • Patent number: 4256243
Abstract: A holster incorporating a spring locking member which engages a portion of a handgun to provide a physical restraint upon the holstering or drawing of the handgun to prevent inadvertent removal of the weapon or accidental loss of the handgun when the user is in strenuous movement. The spring locking member includes a leaf spring secured to the body of the holster at one end carrying at its other end a protruding head having tapered surfaces which will enter and obstruct a portion of the trigger guard region. The protruding head is not of sufficient size to contact the trigger when the handgun is fully home e.g. bottomed out in the holster. The spring member has sufficient resistance to deflection such that the weight of the handgun plus any acceleration due to strenuous activity of the user is insufficient to cause the weapon to be dislodged.

  • Patent number: 4241838
Abstract: A height-adjustable hoist having an upright post, a tip member extensible therefrom, and a sleeve swivelable about the axis of the post. A hoist arm is pivotally mounted at one of its ends on the sleeve for pivoting in a substantially upright plane between raised and lowered positions. A nonextensible chain extending from the other end of the hoist arm to the tip member is adjustably anchored to the tip member by a chain-engaging lock. To set the hoist arm at a desired raised position, the tip member is extended and the chain is selectively anchored to the tip member, with the chain stretched between the hoist arm and tip member.

  • Patent number: 4234113
Abstract: In a manual ski carrier for carrying skis in parallel bottom-to-bottom faced relation, a pair of clamping blocks are carried from a main body member which is laterally directed of the skis. The clamping blocks are preferably spring biased apart such that the inside faces of the clamping blocks engage the opposite side marginal edges of the skis therebetween. A lever having a cam is pivotably affixed to the main body member such that pivoting of the lever causes the cam to engage one of the clamping blocks into clamping relation. The cam is arranged relative to the lever such that when the lever is pivoted away from the skis to a direction extending orthogonally to the skis, the skis may then be carried from the shoulder of the operator by placing the lever over the shoulder. A shoulder strap is preferably employed for connecting the outer end of the lever back to the ski binding, thereby forming a shoulder strap to facilitate carrying the skis.
