  • Patent number: 10449089
Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems for reprofiling a surface of a cornea of an eye ablate a portion of the cornea to create an ablation zone with an optically correct central optical zone disposed in a central portion of the cornea, and a blend zone disposed peripherally to the central optical zone and at least partially within an optical zone of the eye. The blend zone can have an optical power that gradually diminishes with increasing radius from the central optical zone.

  • Patent number: 10433813
Abstract: According to one embodiment, there is provided an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus which comprises data processing circuitry, a display, input interface circuitry and system control circuitry. The data processing circuitry generates at least B-mode data and Doppler spectral data. The display displays images based on the B-mode data and the Doppler spectral data that have been generated by the data processing circuitry. The input interface circuitry inputs one of an instruction to transit to a mode of the Doppler spectral data and an operation to a range gate. The system control circuitry changes a display form of the Doppler spectral data displayed on the display based on the Doppler spectral data generated in a predetermined time after the input in response to the input to the input interface circuitry.

  • Patent number: 10383536
Abstract: A medical instrument has a tubular shaft, a handle at a proximal end of the shaft and a movable working part at a distal end of the shaft, the shaft includes a shaft section having a curvature and being arranged between the distal end and the proximal end of the shaft. The handle and the working part are operatively connected via a force transmission element extending through the shaft. The force transmission element has a section arranged within the curved shaft section of the shaft, the section being guided on an inner surface of the shaft and having a plurality of interconnected single elements arranged one after the other along the longitudinal direction of the shaft. The single elements are pairwise connected by a pin forming a hinged joint, such that each of the pins defines a rotation axis oriented substantially perpendicular relative to the shaft.

  • Patent number: 10350001
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for identifying surgical instruments, e.g., MIS instruments, including a shaft including a proximal end and a distal end sized for introduction into a patient's body, a tool tip on the distal end including an end effector, and a handpiece or connector on the proximal end. One or more identifier members may be provided on the proximal end and/or distal end of the shaft, on the handpiece, and/or on the tool tip to identify one of a type and a class of the end effector. For example, a set of surgical instruments may be provided that include identifier knobs added onto the shafts to identify different tool tips, the shafts may include different outer shapes and/or textures, or colored and/or luminescent features may be provided on the instruments.

  • Patent number: 10328277
Abstract: A system for treating a region of the epidermis, including: at least one laser energy source; a time control device to generate a laser beam; a laser energy focusing system arranged and produced to direct a laser beam on the region of the epidermis. The control device generates a laser beam including a plurality of composite pulses, emitted at a base frequency, each composite pulse including a sequence of sub-pulses at a higher frequency than the base frequency.

  • Patent number: 10297354
Abstract: A method of aggregating medical information can include receiving, at a remote aggregation system, individual syndromes collected by mobile personal medical devices associated with respective bodies as the mobile personal medical devices move within an environment, aggregating the individual syndromes at the remote aggregation system, and determining whether an environmental syndrome exists for at least some of the individual syndromes. Related systems and computer program products are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10238544
Abstract: In certain embodiments, marking a lenticule includes controlling a focus of pulsed laser radiation having ultrashort pulses. A lenticule marking is created in a cornea of an eye with the pulsed laser radiation to mark the lenticule. The lenticule is then created in the cornea with the pulsed laser radiation.
