Abstract: The present invention relates to methods, systems, and computer readable media for deriving chemical compositions that are present in a chemical product to be manufactured and for determining whether the chemical product complies with government regulations. A method can comprise obtaining a bill of material including components to manufacture the chemical product; ascertaining whether any of the components includes subcomponents; replacing any components including subcomponents with the subcomponents in a revised bill of material; and deriving from the revised bill of material the chemical compositions present in the manufactured chemical product. In some embodiments, the derived chemical compositions can be compared to a stored set of government regulatory standards relating to the chemical compositions to determine compliance.

  • Patent number: 7340354
Abstract: In a method for detection of a stable installation of a system that has a rotation device mounted to rotate around a system axis and an arrangement for detection of measurement values indicative of oscillation of the rotation device, a statistical spread of the measurement values is calculated from N measurement values of different rotations of the rotation device, and the stable installation of the system is detected by a comparison of the calculated statistical spread with a predeterminable threshold. The detected N measurement values can be detected with a known arrangement for determination of an out-of-balance condition, so the method for detection of a stable installation can be implemented without the use of additional hardware components.

  • Patent number: 7340345
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a circuit arrangement for evaluating phase signals for determining an angle or a path of a linearly or rotationally displaced component, whereby a number (N) of measured phase values (?), produced by scanning at least one phase sensor arrangement on the linearly or rotatably displaced component by means of an assigned sensor, are evaluated. According to the invention, once the measured phase values (?) have been transformed with a matrix (M1), a quality level (R) is determined by producing a vector (T) followed by the result of a quantization operation (V) regarding the vector (T). Once a transformation has been carried out with a further matrix (M4), a further vector (X) is produced from the difference (t) between the vector (T) and the result of the quantization operation (V), coefficients (Cj) and (Dj) being applied to the components (xj) of said other vector, and the quality level (R) is derived therefrom.

  • Patent number: 7337083
Abstract: A process and apparatus for identification of the direction of rotation of two periodic electrical signals present on two electrical conductors, particularly of a three-phase power system. In this process, the signals are sampled from two conductors by two wires of the test apparatus provided with a connection to ground via a user of the apparatus. The direction of rotation is determined from information provided by the two signals. The direction of rotation is determined during the zero-crossing of the voltage between the two phase signals. The invention can be used in a apparatus for testing of the direction of rotation of the phases of a three-phase network.

  • Patent number: 7337086
Abstract: A system and method for combining conclusions from multiple fault detection techniques to isolate likely faults in a turbine engine is provided. The system and method provide the ability to effectively deal with multiple concurrent faults in the engine. Additionally, the embodiments of the invention provide the ability to correctly characterize multiple conclusions generated from evidence having different levels of interdependence. In one embodiment, the conclusions based on device data with high dependency are aggregated using a high dependency aggregation rule, and the resulting high-dependency sets are then further aggregated using a weak dependency rule. Finally, any conclusions based on independent evidence can be aggregated using an independent combination rule. The resulting aggregation determines which fault(s) are most likely indicated by the plurality of conclusions, taken into account the dependency of the device data used to generate the conclusions.

  • Patent number: 7337069
Abstract: The method of the invention allows, by means of an iterative inversion algorithm, prediction of the spatial distribution of the lithologic composition of sediments deposited in a sedimentary basin during a geologic time interval, and the temporal evolution of the depositional profile throughout filling of the basin, while respecting exactly the thicknesses of the sedimentary sequences measured otherwise which is useful for locating hydrocarbon reservoirs. Input data of thickness maps of the sedimentary layer, location and composition of the sediment supply at the boundaries of the sedimentary basin, and physical parameters characterizing transport of the sediments during the period of consideration are applied to an iterative inversion loop initialized by the accommodation provided by a stationary multilithologic diffusive model which works as a fixed-point algorithm correcting the accommodations by means of a preconditioning of the residue on the sequence thicknesses obtained by an instationary model.

  • Patent number: 7337067
Abstract: A system and method for perceiving drilling learning through visualization is provided. In one embodiment using three-dimensional visualization of the earth model as a foundation, a new IT development strategy focuses on perceiving “Drilling Learning” by an intuitive method. Symbols, known as “Knowledge Attachments” are attached to each wellbore trajectory displayed in the three-dimensional environment, with each symbol indicating a specific event—such as one related to drilling operations or problems. A Knowledge Attachment system proves particularly useful to represent disparate data at once, in such a manner that the interdependencies between the earth model and drilling operational data are evident and correlated. Operational issues and lessons learned from prior wells are easily accessed and perceived in the context of the earth model. By understanding this information at the beginning of the well planning process, operational efficiencies may be improved.
