Patent number: 7333904Abstract: A processor is responsive to a thermistor temperature (Tth) adjacent a FET and to a drain-to-source voltage (VDS) of the FET. The processor stores the characteristics of the PET and a thermal model of the system hardware and uses a first set of equations to determine the temperature (TJ) at the junction of the PET in a stable region of operation where TJ?Tth is nearly constant. The processor is further responsive to a step change in successive measurements of VDS indicative of a lag of Tth relative to TJ. In this step-change region, the processor then resolves TJ based upon a second set of equations.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 2005Date of Patent: February 19, 2008Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Steven R. Patent number: 7333892Abstract: A method with application for evaluation or production of a reservoir for determining multiphase flow parameters of a porous medium such as a rock, from the interpretation of displacement experiments. From an injection experiment on a rock sample, the saturation profiles are measured in different sections of the sample. The experimental data are then subjected to a preliminary interpretation by means of a numerical simulation code allowing production of simulated pressure profiles. These profiles are then combined with the measured saturation profiles so as to evaluate the local properties of the sample in terms of capillary pressure. These properties are then re-injected into the simulator as input data so as to finely interpret the flow parameters while respecting the evolutions of the differential pressure, of the displaced fluid production and of the saturation profiles.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2005Date of Patent: February 19, 2008Assignee: Institut Francais du PetroleInventors: Patrick Egermann, Roland Lenormand

Patent number: 7330793Abstract: Heterogeneous compound databases can be searched for compounds which are likely to have the same biological activity as a known (query) molecule. Query molecules and the molecules in the database are split into fragments according to common fragmentation rules. Fragments are aligned in a uniform conformation according to a topomeric alignment process and interaction energy fields, typically steric fields, between a probe and the fragment atoms are generated to capture the fragment shapes. Comparison of the fields for the query fragments with the fields for the database compound fragments yields a measure of shape similarity. Searches for similarly shaped substructures and cores can also be readily accomplished. Pharmacophoric style features can be defined for the topomerically aligned fragments but with user specified weighting of the importance of each. Differences in features are defined with the same dimensionality as shape so that both shape and features can be used to search.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2001Date of Patent: February 12, 2008Inventors: Richard D. Patent number: 7330801Abstract: A communications device includes an antenna array for receiving different summations of source signals from a plurality of signal sources, a receiver coupled to the antenna array for receiving the different summations of source signals, and a signal separation processor coupled to the receiver. Processing by the signal separation processor includes creating a matrix based upon the different summations of source signals, with the matrix being defined by linear independent equations with fewer equations than unknowns. The matrix is underdetermined, and parameters associated with the matrix are modified based upon different sets of parameter values, and respective matrix quality factors associated with the different sets of parameter values are determined. The matrix is then biased with a preferred set of parameter values so that the solution space may be narrowed for obtaining a solution.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2006Date of Patent: February 12, 2008Assignee: Interdigital Technology CorporationInventors: Steven J.
