  • Patent number: 9713040
Abstract: With the deployment of the Mobile Routers, some of the mobile devices would access the IP services, e.g. Remote Local IP Access (LIPA), via the local connections provided by the Mobile Router. In such cases, the mobile devices may be detached from the 3GPP access, and thus lose the capability of receiving certain services, e.g. CS domain related services. This invention presented a solution to allow the mobile device to continue enjoying the services provided via 3GPP access by placing the mobile device into a special state and binding Mobile Router's context with the mobile device's context. In this way, the mobile operator's core network would be able to trigger the mobile device to receive the CS service even its 3GPP access connections are removed.

  • Patent number: 9647919
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for determining the maximum throughput of a service are disclosed. A first sequence of load tests is initiated for a service host. Individual ones of the load tests comprise determining a respective throughput at the service host for a respective number of concurrent connections to the service host. The number of concurrent connections increases nonlinearly in at least a portion of the first sequence of load tests. The first sequence of load tests is discontinued when the throughput is not increased by a threshold from one of the load tests to the next. An estimated maximum throughput for the service host is determined based at least in part on the first sequence of load tests. The estimated maximum throughput corresponds to a particular number of concurrent connections to the service host.

  • Patent number: 9642058
Abstract: Systems and methods for facilitating the mitigation of interference in the uplink of a small cell caused by macrocell user equipment in the case where the macrocell cannot identify the interfering macrocell user equipment because the user equipment cannot detect and report the small cell's downlink due to the small cell's uplink/downlink coverage imbalance. In an embodiment, the smell cell provides the macrocell with a notification of the interference, the configuration information about its Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH), and a plurality of unique preambles and transmission times for non-contention-based transmissions on the small cells PRACH. The macrocell orders each of one or a plurality of macrocell user equipment to transmit one of the unique preambles on the small cell's PRACH. The small cell reports to the macrocell the detected preamble transmissions, which allows the macrocell to identify interfering user equipment and perform corrective actions.

  • Patent number: 9614768
Abstract: According to an example, a stacking device in a distribution layer may monitor traffic in an aggregation link between the stacking device and a core layer. When a traffic unbalance is detected in the aggregation link, the stacking device may find a data flow that causes the traffic unbalance from data flows transferred over the aggregation link and an incoming interface through which the found data flow enters the stacking device. The stacking device may also reallocate a new MAC address to the incoming interface and may send the new MAC address allocated to the incoming interface to a terminal server, so as to enable the traffic unbalance to transit to traffic balance by way of the terminal server sending a data flow with the new MAC address as the destination MAC address.

  • Patent number: 9591664
Abstract: Disclosed in the present invention is a method for a relay node to receive a control signal from a base station in a wireless communication system. More particularly, the present invention comprises the steps of: receiving a downlink signal from the base station; and obtaining control information for the relay node by blind-decoding the downlink signal, wherein a search space for blind decoding is located in the data region of a subframe, and is divided into a search space for a downlink grant and a search space for an uplink grant. When the subframe corresponding to the control information for the relay node is a downlink (DL) standalone, the search area including only the search space for the downlink grant, or the search area for the uplink grant being set as an invalid search space would be desirable.

  • Patent number: 9537793
Abstract: Techniques are provided for updating routing tables of switch devices. At a first switch device of a first rack unit in a network, information is received about addresses of host devices in the network. The addresses are stored in a software cache. A packet is received from a first host device assigned to a first subnet and housed in the first rack unit. The packet is destined for a second host device assigned to a second subnet and housed in a second rack unit in the network. The packet is forwarded using the subnet entry and it may remain sub-optimal during a period before which an entry can be installed form a software cache. The software cache is evaluated to determine the address of the second host device. The packet is then forwarded optimally. This will ensure any-to-any communications in the network initially sub-optimally and subsequently optimally.
