  • Patent number: 9654727
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for overcoming communication lag between interactive operations among devices in a streaming session. According to the techniques, a first device streaming video content to a second device and an annotation is entered to a first frame being displayed at the second device, which is communicated back to the first device. Responsive to a communication that identifies the annotation, a first device may identify an element of video content from the first frame to which the annotation applies and determine whether the identified element is present in a second frame of video content currently displayed at the first terminal. If so, the first device may display the annotation with the second frame in a location where the identified element is present. If not, the first device may display the annotation via an alternate technique.

  • Patent number: 9591415
Abstract: A hearing aid device configured to be inserted into the ear canal of a hearing aid user. The hearing aid includes a receiver, a hearing instrument body, and a connection member extending between the hearing instrument body and the receiver. The connection member is a permanent part of the hearing aid device and the connection member has a stiffness that allows the receiver to be inserted into the ear canal by moving the hearing instrument body towards the eardrum. The connection member achieves a first stiffness sufficiently large to insert the hearing aid device into the ear canal and achieves a second significantly reduced stiffness which makes the hearing aid device comfortable to wear for the user.

  • Patent number: 9589573
Abstract: A method of wind noise reduction. Left side and right side microphone signals are obtained. In a first stage wind noise reduction is applied to a first sub-band of one of the signals, below a spectral threshold NA. In a second stage the wind noise reduced first side signal, and the second side signal, are both split into a sub-band below a threshold NB less than NA. The sub-band of the first side signal is mixed with the sub-band of the second side signal to produce an aggregate third sub-band signal having reduced wind noise, which is recombined with the respective sub-bands above the threshold NB to produce output first and second side signals.

  • Patent number: 9584759
Abstract: There is provided determination of a bit rate request (BRR) for a multimedia encoder of an electronic device. First bit rate information is received from a receiver of multimedia content. The multimedia content is generated by the multimedia encoder and transmitted by the electronic device on a transmission link of the electronic device to the receiver. The first bit rate information is related to the transmission link. Second bit rate information relating to a reception link of the electronic device is acquired. A set of properties of the transmission link and the reception link is determined. A combined BRR is determined for the multimedia encoder as a function of the first bit rate information and the second bit rate information, wherein the function depends on the set of properties. The combined BRR is provided to the multimedia encoder.

  • Patent number: 9578412
Abstract: Intra-concha earphones are disclosed. In an embodiment, an intra-concha earphone includes a housing having a rear space divided into a back volume, a bass duct, and a vent chamber between a driver and a rear wall. The vent chamber may be acoustically coupled with the back volume through both an acoustic port and the bass duct. Furthermore, the vent chamber may be acoustically coupled with a surrounding environment through a vent port, which may be a sole acoustic opening in the rear wall. Thus, sound emitted by the driver may propagate through the acoustic port and the bass duct to meet in the vent chamber before being discharged through the vent port to the surrounding environment. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.
