  • Patent number: 4931005
Abstract: An apparatus for the preparation of an elastic absorbent composed of a mixed web. Elements of the apparatus can include two supply hoppers for separately supplying pulverized pulp and staple fibers of a synthetic fiber split yarn at a constant mixing ratio with each hopper having a pair of confronting moving belts, two guide mechanisms located below the hoppers, a pair of nip rollers located below the guide mechanisms, a garnet roll located below the pair of nip rollers, a vacuum device located below the garnet roll, and a mesh belt located between the vacuum device and the garnet roll. Each guide mechanism in the apparatus may include at least two gear guides arranged in series. The apparatus operates by feeding the pulverized pulp and the staple fibers of the split yarn from the hoppers to the nip rolls via the guide mechanisms. The nip rolls compress the material, which is then disintegrated and mixed by the garnet roll. The mixture is pulled onto the mesh belt by the vacuum device.

  • Patent number: 4917587
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for the production of building units from an afterhardening mixture containing cement and/or lime as binding material. The raw mixture is continuously fed and pressed by stamping into a die with CO.sub.2 gas at a pressure higher than atmospheric being passed through the raw mixture in the die space. Through an instantaneous reaction of carbonation, the material is hardened to a formed body. The CO.sub.2 gas is prevented from escaping by a gastight seal in the vicinity of the inlet port of the die. Further towards the outlet port, the pressure of the CO.sub.2 gas is decreased. In the vicinity of the outlet port only as much CO.sub.2 gas is fed as is necessary for the completing of the chemical reaction. Thus, any loss of gas will be minimized. The continuously discharged body is cut to size by using a saw.

  • Patent number: 4911632
Abstract: A structure for releasably securing a plurality of mold inserts to a mold plate attached to a power press machine is disclosed. The mold plate has a plurality of apertures formed therethrough. Within each aperture, a plurality of inwardly extending spaced apart protrusions are formed. The mold inserts include end portions having a plurality of tabs formed thereon. A mold insert is inserted within an aperture by aligning the tabs with the spaces between the protrusions and moving the mold insert axially therein. Then, by rotating the mold insert relative to the mold plate, the tabs are moved over the protrusions. As a result, the mold insert is retained within the aperture. Locking bars prevent rotation of the mold inserts at undesired times to prevent them from being removed from the mold plate. A locking mechanism may be used to secure the locking bars, and therefore the mold inserts, in their locked positions during use.

  • Patent number: 4906170
Abstract: An apparatus is presented for printing material on an extruded plastic tubing. An extruder forms the plastic tubing of the desired diameter and thickness. The tubing is then drawn through a cooling bath by a pulling mechanism, and cut into desired lengths. The tubing may be dried after the cooling process, and an ink jet printer is utilized to print on the tubing as it is being drawn to be cut. A computer controls the printing process in correlation with the tubing cutter to provide a print signal to the printer in accordance with the desired lengths of tubing. The print heads of the printer are also three-dimensionally adjustable so as to center the printed material on the desired size and length of tubing to be cut.
