Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a first software defined network element is created in local communication with a gateway of a core network portion of a mobility network. Establishment of first logical network connection facilitated between the first software defined network element and a second network element in local communication with a remotely accessible system, such as a back-end system of an enterprise data center or cloud service provider. A request from a mobile device serviced by the mobility network is received for access to a service of the remotely accessible system. The request and/or a translation of the request is forwarded to the second network element by way of the first logical network connection. The second network element forwards the translated request to the remotely accessible system. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9590948
Abstract: One embodiment provides a system that facilitates forwarding of packets with variable length names. During operation, the system receives a packet with a hierarchically structured variable length identifier (HSVLI) which comprises contiguous name components ordered from a most general level to a most specific level. The system performs a longest prefix match lookup by selecting an entry from a first data structure of entries. The entries indicate a name component, forwarding information for the name component, and a plurality of entry identifiers that chain an entry to another entry. If a size of the name component is less than or equal to a predetermined threshold, the system selects an entry based on the name component. If the size is greater, the system selects an entry based on a compressed key which can be a hash of the name component. The system also resolves collisions associated with the selected entry.

  • Patent number: 9572084
Abstract: A method and system for route optimization during switching and an access network element. In a process that a terminal is switched from a source access network element to a target access network element, the target access network element obtains identity information of a correspondent node of the terminal from the terminal, and triggers an access network element of the correspondent node to update a correspondent node mapping relationship. In the present solution, information of a correspondent node is obtained by adding a signaling interaction procedure between the network and the terminal host, so that the information of the correspondent node which is performing data communication is obtained in real time, and a subsequent data stream route optimization process is performed in time, thereby solving the problem of low processing performance and poor real-time performance resulted from an access gateway monitoring, detecting and maintaining correspondent node information.

  • Patent number: 9560540
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an arrangement in a transmitting node (560) for enabling a receiving node (540) to perform measurements on interference caused by transmissions from at least one transmission point (510, 520, 530) controlled by the transmitting node (560) on receptions at the receiving node (540). The transmitting and receiving nodes (560, 540) are comprised in a wireless communications system (500, 600, 700). The transmitting node determines (910) an interference measurement resource, IMR, comprising a set of Time-Frequency Resource Elements, TFREs, upon which the transmitting node is expected to transmit interference. The transmitting node then transmits (930) at least one interfering signal on said IMR as said interference.

  • Patent number: 9560549
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed at systems, methods and media for relieving RAN congestion in a core network. In some embodiments, RAN congestion information is reported from user equipment to a packet data gateway (PGW) through an eNodeB and a software gateway. The PGW can aggregate the RAN congestion information and periodically notify other network nodes, for example, a PCRF, about the aggregate congestion in a network. By aggregating RAN congestion information, the PGW can substantially reduce the signaling required to report RAN congestion in the core network.

  • Patent number: 9554347
Abstract: A method and system for measuring end-to-end processing delay of the RE between an input interface and a transmit port in the downlink direction and a receive port and an output interface on the uplink direction is disclosed. The method and system if for use in a radio equipment node (RE) connected to a radio equipment control node (REC). Once the downlink and uplink radio channels are activated at a predetermined carrier frequency, a chirp sine wave is added at the input interface and the receive port such that the chirp sine wave becomes mixed with the carrier frequency. Sampling of a received downlink mixed signal is done at the transmit port and of the received uplink mixed signal at the output interface. The sampled mixed signals are then cross-correlated with a reference chirped sine wave to obtain a signal phase shift which is then converted to obtain a time delay associated with the end-to-end processing delay of the RE.

  • Patent number: 9538550
Abstract: A first cell determines that UE(s) should have HARQ cycle(s) skipped, where each of the UE(s) is to take part in a CoMP transmission. Skipping is to be performed to enable the first cell to receive information from second cell(s) over backhaul link(s) for the HARQ transmission(s). A first HARQ cycle is scheduled and participated in for the UE(s) in order to receive a transmission at the first cell from the UE(s). The HARQ cycle(s) is/are skipped for the UE(s) by sending, prior to decoding information from the uplink CoMP transmissions, an acknowledgement to the UE(s) and not scheduling the UE(s) for a PDCCH grant for the HARQ cycle(s). The skipping depends on one or more of: a backhaul latency, a load in the first cell, a type of UE, or a request to the second cell(s). Apparatus and program products are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9521670
Abstract: A method includes, in a mobile communication terminal, receiving signals from a base station in a sequence of time frames. Based on the received signals, a classification of the time frames into first and second types is determined in the terminal, such that a level of interference in the time frames of the first type is lower than the level of interference in the time frames of the second type. The received signals are decoded based on the time frames and the corresponding classification.

  • Patent number: 9510283
Abstract: Disclosed herein, among other things, are systems and methods for managing power consumption in a wireless network. One aspect of the present subject matter includes a method for wireless communications of isochronous data. A transmission of isochronous data is received using an electronic device having a battery. The method determines how many redundant transmissions can be received by the device within a predetermined time frame while limiting discharge of the battery, and adjusts reception of the redundant transmissions based on the determination. In various embodiments, a reduction in received redundant transmissions preserves energy and prevents complete discharge of the battery.

  • Patent number: 9398485
Abstract: A wireless sensor network system includes: sensor terminals and a management terminal. A sensor terminal sends a join request at a first transmission power; and the management terminal calculates the traffic load of nodes on the reception path of the join request. If the number of hops and the traffic load are both within respective permissible ranges, the management terminal sets the reception path as the communication route of the sensor terminal. If the number of hops and/or the load is not within the permissible rage, the management terminal reconstructs the communication path by outputting an instruction to the sensor terminal to make direct connection to the management terminal or a specified node with a low traffic load, at a second transmission power greater than the first transmission power. When receiving the instruction, the sensor terminal transmits to the management terminal or the specified node at the second transmission power.

  • Patent number: 9385971
Abstract: In a multi-chassis link-aggregation device, each of first and second switch devices is provided with a relay condition, which defines prohibition of a predetermined relay path. If there is no link failure in each multi-chassis link-aggregation device, each of the first and second switch devices prohibits forwarding of a frame, which has been received by a bridge port, from each multi-chassis link-aggregation device. On the other hand, if a link failure is present in a second port (second multi-chassis link-aggregation device) of the first and second switch devices permits forwarding of the frame, which has been received by the bridge port, from the second port. In this case, if a destination port of the frame received by a first port includes the second multi-chassis link-aggregation device, the first switch device adds a port identifier representing the received port to the frame and forwards that toward the second switch device.
