  • Patent number: 9609658
Abstract: Aspects of this disclosure provide techniques for computing Vandermonde-subspace frequency division multiplexing (VFDM) precoders for secondary network transmissions that mitigate interference between secondary communication signals, while avoiding interference with the primary system altogether. A precoder for a secondary user (SU) is computed on accordance with a nullspace induced by cyclic prefixes communicated over a primary data channel, a primary interference channel between a second user (SU) and the primary receiver, and a secondary interference channel between the SU and a neighboring SBS. The precoder provides both frequency domain precoding and spatial domain precoding on secondary transmission signals communicated from the SU.

  • Patent number: 9609687
Abstract: A method of controlling connection between nodes in a digital interface whereby a first node that is a master node determines a second node to be the master and controls a point-to-point connection or a broadcast connection to another node. The first node having the display device determines the second node to be the master in accordance with a user selection, and transmits a connection command of a predetermined format for transmitting a data stream to the second node. The second node determined as the master in accordance with the transmitted connection command of the predetermined format is allocated with a channel and a bandwidth from an isochronous resource manager (IRM), and performs a point-to-point connection between the second node and the first node to transit the data stream. Thus, the transmission/reception, reproduction, and control of the data stream of the program can be smoothly performed.

  • Patent number: 9603052
Abstract: Wireless transmission is performed by storing, in a local memory, a header in association with reference(s) to memory locations in a separate, shared memory storing a payload for a given transmission. Each header can be associated with a QoS queue. When a selected payload is to be transmitted, a PHY preamble can begin, followed by a header from local memory, while a DMA transaction initiates to retrieve payload from the shared memory. Each retrieved portion of payload can include a link to a next location storing a next part of payload. A subsequent DMA is initiated for that part of the payload. A relatively fixed function circuit can initiate DMA and receive payload data; a programmable element can perform payload selection, for example. Multiple payloads can be aggregated (just before transmitting of a preamble) using header information stored in the fast local memory. Memory can be released after ACK of a corresponding payload.

  • Patent number: 9602332
Abstract: In a 3GPP2 Converged Access Network (CAN), IPv6 stateless auto configuration can be used to configure an IPv6 address of an access terminal (AT) for Simple IPv6 operation. A domain name system (DNS) update is triggered by IPv6 Neighbor Advertisement addresses a need for a DNS update when the full IPv6 address (128 bits) has not yet been sent in IPv6 packets from the AT. Upon receipt of the full address in response to the IPv6 Neighbor Advertisement, provision is made for prompting this DNS update even when the requesting network entity (e.g., access gateway (AGW) or home agent (HA)) does not have security authentication with a responsible home DNS server by utilizing access to an authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) function, perhaps via a local visited AAA, to submit an Accounting Request (Start) message that prompts the home DNS server to perform the DNS update.

  • Patent number: 9596663
Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting a training sequence code of a transmitting apparatus with a plurality of transmitting antennas in a communication system are provided. A transmitting apparatus allocates a plurality of time slots for the plurality of transmitting antennas to be divided into at least one frame, and sends a training sequence code with reference power for any one of the transmitting antennas, and sends remaining training sequence codes for remainders of the transmitting antennas with transmission power from zero to the reference power, in any one of the time slots. A receiving apparatus receives a plurality of training sequence codes for a plurality of transmitting antennas through any one of the plurality of receiving antennas from a transmitting apparatus, and selects one of the training sequence codes having the greatest reception power to estimate a channel. This may improve a channel estimation performance in a communication system.

  • Patent number: 9591042
Abstract: A mobile device of a user discovers topological information about electronic devices in a premise environment, and shares such information with a media gateway. The media gateway uses the topological information to augment content from a server, such as a web page that supports access to media content, to add graphical objects corresponding to those electronic devices in proximity to the mobile device that are capable of reproducing the streaming media content. Selection of the one of the add-on graphical objects causes delivery of the media content to the corresponding electronic device instead of the display of the mobile device. In this manner, a more natural selection mechanism than that available using conventional pull-down lists of options is provided.

  • Patent number: 9577736
Abstract: Wireless communication systems employ Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) transmission and reception schemes to increase performance and the data rate of the system. A new approach for an SM-MIMO decoder that operates on the received symbols in parallel is presented. The new approach performs two different QR decompositions of the estimated channel matrix and produces two triangular matrices; one is right triangular and the other is left triangular. The modified systems of equations are processed in parallel. After each M-algorithm process has processed half of the total number of stages, total search space for the globally optimal transmitted symbol vector is reduced significantly. Finally, cumulative distance metrics are computed for the symbol sequences in the reduced search space and a global minimum is determined for the estimated transmitted symbol vector. This approach offers faster processing of the SM-MIMO signals and reduced distance metric computations and search operations.

  • Patent number: 9577914
Abstract: In one embodiment, the techniques herein provide that a node may receive a packet from a neighboring node in a low power and lossy network (LLN). The node may then extract, from the packet, a link-layer source address from a link layer header and an internet protocol (IP) source address from an IP header. The node may then determine whether the neighboring node originated the packet and, based on that determination, the node may correlate the link-layer source address with the IP source address to provide neighbor discovery.

  • Patent number: 9569383
Abstract: An information handling system includes a plurality of processors that each includes a cache memory, and a receive side scaling (RSS) indirection table with a plurality of pointers that each points to one of the processors. A network data packet received by the information handling system determines a pointer to a first processor. In response to determining the pointer, information associated with the network data packet is transferred to the cache memory of the first processor. The information handling system also includes a process scheduler that moves a process associated with the network data packet from a second processor to the first processor, and an RSS module that directs the process scheduler to move the process and associates the first pointer with the processor in response to directing the process scheduler.

  • Patent number: 9554374
Abstract: The present invention relates to a wireless communication system. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method for transmitting acknowledgement/negative ACK (ACK/NACK) in a wireless communication system which supports carrier aggregation, and to an apparatus for the method. A method in which a terminal transmits ACK/NACK in a wireless communication system that supports carrier aggregation comprises the following steps: receiving one or more physical downlink shared channels (PDSCHs); and transmitting ACK/NACK for said one or more PDSCHs via a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH). A PUCCH format for transmitting ACK/NACK is selected by taking the type of the carrier in which said one or more PDSCHs are received into account.
