  • Patent number: 9652778
Abstract: An advertisement distribution system can log advertisement conversions using Near Field Communication (“NFC”). An online advertisement may be served to a user in response to a query or at a website. In response to the user selecting the advertisement, a landing page is displayed to the user and information regarding the advertisement is stored for logging purposes. The landing page may instruct the user to check in with an NFC-enabled device at an NFC base station of a merchant. The NFC base station transmits information identifying the merchant to the user's device and, in turn, the user's device transmits the information to the advertisement distribution system. The advertisement distribution determines that the advertisement resulted in a conversion using information regarding the advertisement and the information identifying the merchant received from the NFC base station via the user's device.

  • Patent number: 9514449
Abstract: When an electronic money card is set to a reader/writer, an introducing site connection unit is activated to connect a user terminal to an introducing site. The introducing site connection unit stores manufacturer information and transmits an electronic money function unit ID and the manufacturer information read from the electronic money card to the introducing site. An introducing server connects the user terminal to an affiliated store server through the introducing site, and the affiliated store server transmits purchase information to the introducing server when a user purchases. The introducing server calculates a commission amount from the purchase information and transmits the calculated amount together with the electronic money function unit ID and the manufacturer information to a distributing server. • Patent number: 9489681
Abstract: The present invention provides systems and methods for distributing coupons by a retailer. The coupons distributed in the invention are “third-party” coupons, that is, coupons for goods or services that are unrelated to those of the retailer and offered by a third-party retailer. For example, if the coupons are being distributed by a supermarket, then the coupons may be for tools at a home-improvement store or for tax services by an accountant. The distribution methods of the invention increases the revenue of a retailer. More specifically, a consumer is presented a coupon when the value of the transaction exceeds a threshold. In a number of embodiments, the threshold is the average sale per transaction of the retailer. Accordingly, consumers will be motivated to increase spending so that coupons can be earned. The methods and apparatus of the invention are equally applicable to both “brick and mortar” and “click and mortar” retailing.

  • Patent number: 9477981
Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for conducting sales. A system configured to practice the method receives an inquiry with at least one parameter from a user associated with a sale of an item. The system identifies one or more discount items that satisfy the inquiry and filters the one or more discount items based on a time-sensitive sales opacity scale. The system identifies comparable items for each discount item at nondiscount rates dynamically using real-time data and presents one or more comparable groups to the user, each comparable group including one filtered discount item and respective comparable items. Then the system advances the sale of the discount item based on user acceptance of one of the presented one or more comparable groups.
