  • Patent number: 6705845
Abstract: A device for the metered delivery of a viscous liquid has a pump body with a drill hole accommodating two pistons which connects a first chamber serving as an intake chamber and a second chamber serving as a discharge chamber. Two swivel arms driven by two cam discs are foreseen as the drive mechanism for the back and forth movement of the two pistons. For the metered delivery of an adhesive which contains flakes of silver the drill hole is designed such that it serves for guiding the pistons as well as for sealing the pump path.

  • Patent number: 6705842
Abstract: According to the invention, discharge noise from rotary vacuum machines having complementary profiles is attenuated by interposing between the discharge from the primary pump and the outlet to the atmosphere, a transfer device having independent cavities, e.g. cavities on a rotor rotated on a shaft, the cavities moving sequentially from the discharge to the outlet while simultaneously providing isolation between the discharge and the outlet. This achieves dynamic attenuation of the noise in a manner that is particularly simple and low cost, while also being very effective in suppressing discharge noise.

  • Patent number: 6695590
Abstract: A lubricant pump having a housing equipped with outlets and a lubricant chamber, and having a piston axially displaceable in an axial cylinder bore in the housing by means of an electrical drive arrangement. The piston is at a first end and has an axial outlet. A first portion of the axial outlet is connected to a through-opening arranged radially on the piston position and adapted in a predetermined piston position to connect the axial outlet to a predetermined outlet of the outlets. A second portion of the axial outlet of the piston is connected to the lubricant chamber by way of an inlet and a non-return valve to allow the bore to be filled with lubricant. The outlets are arranged essentially in succession to one another. The position sensor is adapted to signal the position of the piston in the event the piston stops.

  • Patent number: 6695595
Abstract: A pump includes a cylinder, a piston assembly, a first nozzle, a valve, a controller, a ring and a second nozzle. The cylinder defines first and second chambers and first and second channels for communication between the chambers. The piston assembly is received in the first chamber. The first nozzle defines a channel. The valve is received in the first chamber. The controller defines an axial channel and a radial channel communicated with the axial channel, and is received in the second chamber and linked to the valve through the second channel. The controller is movable between a first position for allowing the valve to seal the second channel and a second position for driving the valve to open the second channel. The ring is mounted on the controller so as to divide the second chamber into a first portion for communication between the first channel and the channel of the first nozzle and a second portion for communication between the second channel and the radial channel of the controller.

  • Patent number: 6688858
Abstract: A pump housing assembly includes a housing, a hub portion, and a flange. The housing has an end cowling defining a transition from a central portion of the housing to a transverse end portion. The hub portion extends longitudinally outwardly from the transverse end portion of housing. The flange extends radially outwardly from the outward end of the hub and is in spaced longitudinal relation to the end of the cowling to create a space to receive a head of a mounting bolt. The flange has an outer periphery with a pair of tangentially extending slots having an open end. The space for receiving a head of a mounting bolt is less than the length of a shank of a mounting bolt, to minimize the length of the housing. The slots have a width sufficient to receive the movement of a shank into and out of the open ends of the slots.

  • Patent number: 6685438
Abstract: In an operation control apparatus of a compressor, a current, a voltage an d a TDC, etc. applied to a compressor are detected, a speed and a TDC are constantly controlled so as to place an operation point of the compressor within a high efficiency operation region by using a phase difference between each detected values (for example, a phase difference between the current and the voltage), and an operation frequency is varied according to a load variation, accordingly an operation efficiency of the compressor can be improved.

  • Patent number: 6682315
Abstract: In an axial piston pump, a plurality of reciprocating pistons are at least partially positioned within a barrel. The barrel includes a ring shaped high pressure collection cavity that is positioned between the piston chambers and the outlet of the pump. In order to minimize potential loses due to leakage from the ring shaped collection cavity, the barrel is made from a casting that utilizes a ring shaped core supported in a mold. This facilitates the formation of the ring shaped cavity while insuring location and dimensional tolerances, and assisting in the latter machining of the casting to its final form.

  • Patent number: 6676382
Abstract: Motor speed, motor amps, float position and elapsed run time are monitored to determine whether a sump pump is in a normal condition, a jammed condition, an inadequate pumping rate condition, a dry running condition or a stuck float condition. A processor is configured to increase the motor speed in response to an inadequate pumping rate condition, and to rapidly energize the motor clockwise and counterclockwise in response to a jammed condition or a stuck float condition. The processor provides signals to a display for displaying information about the condition that the pump is in. The pump is set up to receive power from either an AC power source or a battery power source. Availability of the AC power source is monitored and the pump is switched to operate from the battery power source when AC power is unavailable.

  • Patent number: 6672848
Abstract: A cruciform pump comprises a casing, a positioning round disk in the casing; a driven rotary disk; and two sliding blocks. A center of the positioning round disk is arranged corresponding to a center of the casing, and has a cruciform sliding groove. The driven rotary disk is eccentrically installed on the positioning round disk. One rotary shaft at one surface of the rotary disk protrudes out of the casing. The two sliding blocks are installed in the cruciform sliding groove. Each block is conformed to the sliding groove, so that the positioning round disk is driven by the sliding blocks. When the driven rotary disk rotates through two circles, the positioning round disk only rotates through one circle. During rotation, the two sliding blocks move along the cruciform sliding groove; then, one side of the sliding block presses fluid flowing out, and another side thereof will suck fluid into the sliding groove.

  • Patent number: 6663358
Abstract: A compressor for providing automatic capacity modulation is disclosed. The compressor comprises a compression chamber, a compressing member, a reexpansion area, a flow passage, a valve member, and a biasing member. The flow passage is in fluid communication with the compression chamber and the reexpansion area. In one position, the valve member permits flow through the flow passage and in a second position it prevents flow. The valve member is subjected to a first operating condition of fluid on one side and a second operating condition of the fluid on the other side. The biasing member exerts a biasing force on the valve member. When the first operating condition reaches a predetermined point relative to the second operating condition, the valve member moves and effects a change in the capacity of the compressor.

  • Patent number: 6655923
Abstract: A micromechanical pump has a membrane (2) positioned above a substrate (1). The substrate is provided with a cavity (8) which is formed in an endlessly continuous shape (e.g., circular) to provide a channel for a drive fluid. A cover (9) is positioned above the substrate with the membrane being between the substrate and cover. The cover is provided with an inlet (11) and outlet (10). Electrodes (3, 4) are provided around the floor of the cavity. The electrodes are selectively actuated so as to attract selected areas of the membrane resulting in a gap forming between the cover and the selected areas of the membrane. The areas of the membrane above the non-selected electrodes form a seal with the cover. By selectively actuating the electrodes a peristaltic pumping action results in a pumped fluid traveling from the inlet, through the gaps and out the outlet.
