  • Patent number: 9648617
Abstract: An Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) data communication system has an access subsystem that exchanges user data with an access network. The OFDM system has a trusted subsystem that exchanges user data with a trusted network. The trusted subsystem also encodes trust challenge data with a physically-embedded key and transfers the encoded trust challenge data for remote hardware trust validation. The access subsystem allocates OFDM resource blocks to the trusted subsystem and schedules its user data in the remaining OFDM resource blocks. The trusted subsystem schedules its user data in the allocated OFDM resource blocks and determines a Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI) sequence for the user data based on the OFDM scheduling. The access subsystem exchanges its user data with the trusted subsystem. The trusted subsystem exchanges the user data with a CPRI communication system based on the CPRI sequence.

  • Patent number: 9642177
Abstract: A method for establishing a connection between a circuit-switched mobile station (MS) and a packet-switched switching element (MSC). A radio network controller (RNC) receives a first initiation signal (an attach request) from the mobile station (MS) via a circuit-switched connection. The RNC opens a signaling connection for the mobile station. While the signaling connection is active, the RNC receives a second initiation signal (call setup) and opens a real-time connection for the mobile station. Thus the packet-switched switching element (MSC) is able to switch a real-time connection to/from the circuit-switched mobile station (MS).

  • Patent number: 9544209
Abstract: Individual wire defects in a data transfer/communication system that employs differential signaling can be detected during connectivity verification of a link prior to link training by individually disconnecting wires by wire polarity and testing the link. For example, the positive transmit wire of a lane may be verified by disconnecting the negative transmit wire of the lane and performing link connectivity verification. If the link passes connectivity verification, then the positive transmit wire of the lane is functioning normally. Connectivity of the negative transmit wire of the lane may then be verified by disconnecting the positive transmit wire of the lane and determining if the passes the connectivity verification.

  • Patent number: 9538502
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for managing control and data transmissions for low cost UEs. In certain aspects, multiplexing of a control channel and data channel may be allowed in a Physical Resource Block (PRB) pair of a subframe. An indication may be provided to the UE regarding whether a portion of resources of the PRB pair not used to transmit the control channel is available for transmitting the data channel. In alternative aspects, control and data may be scheduled in different subframes, such that there is no need to multiplex them in a subframe or a PRB pair in a same subframe.

  • Patent number: 9532382
Abstract: A channel access method and a node are disclosed. The method includes randomly selecting a backoff period XB according to a backoff exponent BE, where XB=X×aUnitBackoffPeriod, and X is an integer randomly selected from 0?(2BE?1); when X is greater than or equal to a predetermined value, determining a middle backoff, where the middle backoff is less than the backoff period, performing a backoff until the middle backoff ends and then performing a CCA; if a channel is clear, performing data transmission, and if the channel is not clear, continuing the backoff until the backoff period ends and then performing a CCA, and executing a channel access operation according to a result of the CCA performed when the backoff period ends. Therefore, data transmission is performed when a channel is clear, which can reduce a data transmission delay.

  • Patent number: 9510331
Abstract: In data transmission between a mobile network and a terminal device an uplink control channel resource is allocated to the terminal device and to at least one further terminal device. Further, a shared identifier is assigned to both the terminal device and the at least one further terminal device. Using the allocated uplink control channel resource, the mobile network receives a scheduling request from the terminal device. In response to receiving the scheduling request, the mobile network sends an uplink grant. The uplink grant is addressed by the shared identifier to the terminal device and to the at least one further terminal device. Further, the mobile network receives uplink data from the terminal device, which is accomplished on uplink resources indicated by the uplink grant.

  • Patent number: 9485068
Abstract: Techniques for mitigating pilot pollution in a wireless network are described. In an aspect, pilot pollution may be mitigated by reducing density and/or transmit power of common pilots whenever possible. A cell may send a common pilot at a first density and a first transmit power level during a first time period and may send the common pilot at a second density and a second transmit power level during a second time period. The second density may be lower than the first density and/or the second transmit power level may be lower than the first transmit power level. Lower density may be achieved by sending the common pilot less frequently, on fewer subcarriers, and/or from fewer antennas. The cell may determine whether to reduce the density and/or transmit power of the common pilot based on network loading, SINRs of terminals, etc. In another aspect, pilot pollution may be mitigated by performing pilot cancellation at a terminal.
