  • Patent number: 8392171
Abstract: Methods and systems for register mapping in emulation of a target system on a host system are disclosed. Statistics for use of a set of registers of a target system processor are determined. Based on the statistics a first subset of the target system registers, including one or more most commonly used registers is determined. The registers in the first subset are directly mapped to a first group of registers of a host system processor. A second subset of the set of target system registers is dynamically mapped to a second group of registers of the host system processor.

  • Patent number: 8386225
Abstract: A method for optimizing the development of a fluid reservoir by accounting for a transient exchange term between porous blocks and fractures. The reservoir is discretized into a set of grid cells and an image representative of the fracture network delimiting porous blocks and fractures is associated with each cell. A transient exchange flow occurring between the porous blocks and the fractures is then determined at each cell by processing the image representative of the fracture network. Fluid flows in the reservoir are simulated by a flow simulator and an exchange flow and development of the reservoir is optimized by the simulation.

Abstract: A large-scale sound system or communication system is numerically and stably identified. When an input signal is represented by the M(?N)-th order AR model, high-speed H? filtering can be performed with a computational complex 3N+O(M). A processing section determines the initial state of a recursive equation (S201), sets CUk according to an input uk (S205), determines a variable recursively (S207), updates a matrix GkN, calculates an auxiliary gain matrix KUkN (S209), divides it (S211), calculates a variable DkM and a backward prediction error ?m, k (S213), calculate a gain matrix Kk (S215), and updates a filter equation of a high-speed H? filter (S217). To reduce the computational complexity, Kk(:, 1)/(1+&ggr;f?2 Hk Kk (:, 1)) is directly used as the filter gain Ks, k.

The method periodically calculates clearance within the assembled digital model using the selected clearance rule and the selected clearance condition and summarizing the clearance check. The clearance check summary identifies a clearance issue using a predetermined clearance checking criteria and submits the identified clearance issue to an issue manager software program for tracking clearance issues.

  • Patent number: 8352232
Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus, methods and software that implement a partial element equivalent circuit (PEEC) method having global basis functions on cylindrical coordinates to determine wide-band resistance, inductance, capacitance, and conductance from a large number of three-dimensional interconnections in order to provide for the electrical design of system-in-package (SIP) modules, and the like. The apparatus, methods and software use a modal equivalent network from mixed potential integral equation with cylindrical conduction and accumulation mode basis functions, which reduces the matrix size for large three-dimensional interconnection problems. Combined with these modal basis functions, the mixed potential integral equations describe arbitrary skin and proximity effects, and allow determination of partial impedance and admittance values. Additional enhancement schemes further reduces the cost for computing the partial inductances.

  • Patent number: 8335670
Abstract: A system for determining the calibration factor uncertainty of a radiation sensor. A computing device accepts a mathematical model of the sensor, sample, and other items affecting the calibration factor, wherein each known mathematical model parameter is assigned its normal dimensions or values and each not-well-known parameter is assigned a variable with an upper and lower limit, and a shape parameter that describes the parameter may vary within or about the limits. Random values consistent with the upper and lower limits and shape parameters for each of the variable parameters in the model are then selected, to create a mathematical model of one possible variation of source-detector measurement configuration. The selection and calibration factor computation are then repeated a large number of times and statistical parameters describing the calibration factor and uncertainty are then computed. Another embodiment performs the steps at different energies for spectroscopic detectors.

  • Patent number: 8335678
Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems are disclosed for simulating a large, realistic computer network. Virtual actors statistically emulate the behaviors of humans using networked devices or responses and automatic functions of networked equipment, and their stochastic actions are queued in buffer pools by a behavioral engine. An abstract machine engine creates the minimal interfaces needed for each actor, and the interfaces then communicate persistently over a network with each other and real and virtual network resources to form realistic network traffic. The network can respond to outside stimuli, such as a network mapping application, by responding with false views of the network in order to spoof hackers, and the actors can respond by altering a software defined network upon which they operate.
