  • Patent number: 7813909
Abstract: Methods and systems for register mapping in emulation of a target system on a host system are disclosed. Statistics for use of a set of registers of a target system processor are determined. Based on the statistics a first subset of the target system registers, including one or more most commonly used registers is determined. The registers in the first subset are directly mapped to a first group of registers of a host system processor. A second subset of the set of target system registers is dynamically mapped to a second group of registers of the host system processor.

  • Patent number: 7761280
Abstract: Simulation of the operation of a data processing apparatus having a number of master logic units and slave logic units coupled via a bus is provided. The data processing apparatus performs data transfers between the master logic units and the slave logic units over the bus. Anticipated timing information for each successive data transfer over the bus is generated by assuming that each successive data transfer can occur with exclusive access to the bus, determining whether the anticipated timing information indicates that two or more concurrent data transfers would occur on the bus, and in the event that the anticipated timing information indicates that two or more concurrent data transfers would occur on the bus, generating revised timing information for those data transfers, the revised timing information being generated using bus status information until those data transfers have been completed.

  • Patent number: 7761283
Abstract: An apparatus for simulating the internal configuration of industry standard ROM and EPROM-type chips using other types of storage technologies, while still operating transparently with interfaces and mechanisms such as authentication devices adapted to EPROM-type media. The invention includes: an EPROM connector interface, a data presentation program; user access log display program; a user login/registration program; a software/data library; software/data selection program; and software/data loader program. These components work in conjunction to securely retrieve software images resident in mass storage media and to present them to an authentication device as if the images were resident in EPROM type media. The invention is particularly adapted to use in the gaming industry where regulation and fraud detection are performed using EPROM authentication techniques.

  • Patent number: 7742904
Abstract: A method for simulating a gas turbine including the steps of: sensing values of a plurality of first operating parameters of an actual gas turbine; applying the sensed values of the first operating parameters to a model of the gas turbine, wherein the model generates a plurality of predicted second operating parameters; determining difference values between the predicted second operating parameters and corresponding sensed second operating parameters of the actual gas turbine; modifying the difference values based on tuning factors generated by a Kalman filter gain matrix during operation of the gas turbine, and using the adjusted difference values to adjust the model of the gas turbine. The method may further comprise generating the tuning factors by applying to the model the sensed values of the plurality of first operating parameters and perturbated values of the adjusted different values to determine optimal tuning factors.

  • Patent number: 7672823
Abstract: In a computerized method for adherence to physical restrictions in the construction of an ITE hearing aid, each component to be placed in the shell of the hearing aid has a collision plot associated therewith. The collision plot is generated as a scatter plot by measurement and simulation, and represents the physical extent of the influence of a particular property of the component on other components. When virtual representations of the respective components are moved relative to another in the e-detailing software for determining the physical positions of the components in the ITE hearing aid, the collision plot for a given component is visually displayed, so that it can easily be seen when another component invades that collision plot, thereby representing an unacceptably close relative position of the two components.

  • Patent number: 7657404
Abstract: The invention relates to an engineering method and system for industrial automation systems, in particular for MES systems, based on at least one computational unit with an input auxiliary device, an output auxiliary device, in addition to at least one display device. According to said method, the modelled objects comprise installation structures or installation parts and are linked to meta information. The modelled objects are structured in the engineering method as hierarchical trees and can be interconnected by lateral networking or by means of a cursor. The objects are executed in run-time by evaluating the meta information in a target system, whereby the functions of an installation that has been modelled in the engineering method are determined from the structure of the tree and the networked connections.

  • Patent number: 7640152
Abstract: A pin-based memory power modeling method using arc-based characterization includes steps as follows. All power arcs of a memory model are identified and characterized. A power arc is selected from the identified and characterized power arcs. Output bus switching power is computed by removing overlapping power using the selected power arc, and a temporary value for various input ramp times and output loads is derived. Output pin power for the selected power arc is calculated using the temporary value and a ratio of a number of output bits switching over an entire bus width. Switching power for the selected power arc is calculated by a power estimation tool based on port activity and an input intrinsic power value.
