Abstract: A hair treatment process for providing dispersed colors by light diffraction including (a) coating the hair with a material comprising a polymer, (b) pressing the hair with a pressing device including one or more surfaces, and (c) forming a secondary nanostructured surface pattern on the hair that is complementary to the primary nanostructured surface pattern on the one or more surfaces of the pressing device. The secondary nanostructured surface pattern diffracts light into dispersed colors that are visible on the hair. The section of the hair is pressed with the pressing device for from about 1 to 55 seconds. The polymer has a glass transition temperature from about 55° C. to about 90° C. The one or more surfaces include a primary nanostructured surface pattern.

Abstract: This applicator for cosmetic products, or lipstick, is a single or multiple ply card with an embossed pattern that retains a sample of lipstick from a separate container. The pattern shears lipstick from a tube onto the applicator. Also, the pattern assists a consumer in placing the cosmetic upon the applicator. In use, a woman selects a lipstick and moves the applicator, with the raised pattern, or field, down, across the lipstick source. The lipstick collects between the embossing of the raised field. A woman folds the applicator, moves it to her mouth, and transfers the sample to her lips. Following use, a woman reverse folds the applicator and encloses the raised field and sample residue for disposal.

Abstract: An airtight cosmetic container in which an inner container (200) and an inner cover (300) can be airtightly sealed without using a separate rubber seal while compensating for a diameter deviation caused by a molding error of the inner cover (300). The inner container (200) includes a packing case (220) in which a cosmetic tray is installed, and which includes inner and outer elastic sidewalls (222, 223) that form a seal groove (221) therebetween, so a sealing rib (320) of the inner cover (300) is inserted into the seal groove (221), with inner and outer curved protrusions (222a, 223a) protruding toward each other on opposed surfaces of the inner and outer elastic sidewalls so as to come into elastic close contact with the inner and outer circumferential surfaces of the sealing rib (320) inserted in the seal groove (221), thereby realizing an airtight sealing effect.

Abstract: The liquid-dispensing comb includes a liquid reservoir in the handle and/or spine thereof, with the teeth of the comb being hollow to allow liquid to flow from the reservoir into the teeth. Outlets are provided along the sides of the teeth rather than at their distal tips, to distribute liquid to the hair strands as the comb is passed therethrough, rather than to the scalp of the person using the comb. Various embodiments include pneumatic devices for pressurizing the reservoirs of the combs, thus forcing liquid to flow from the outlets along the sides of the teeth. Another embodiment includes an internal plate with a series of stops thereon, the stops fitting into corresponding passages at the bases of the teeth. A handle extends from the spine of the comb, enabling the user to manipulate the internal plate to control flow from the reservoir and into the teeth.

Abstract: A central body, preferably circular or rotund, has a plurality of elongated arms radiating out from it. Each arm includes a rigid blade end that defines a profile that operationally fits over a fingernail at an angle of incidence for masking an area of the fingernail during painting, or for scoring semi-hardened paint and scraping off excess paint. Angle of incidence is preferably acute, obtuse or right. Each blade end preferably operationally fits over a uniquely corresponding relatively small range of fingernail sizes. The end blades are disposed in order in a direction around the body, the order being progressively larger range sizes. A mark on each end blade is used for aligning the end blade with a longitudinal axis of a fingernail.

Abstract: A brush for applying hair dye to hair or removing hair dye from hair has a base, multiple dye-holding units disposed on the base, and a handle that extends from the base for grasping by a person's hand. Various embodiments of dye-holding units are disclosed, one of which has an absorbent medium disposed on a stem that is mounted on the base. The dye-holding units of the brush are arranged on the base in a pattern comprising multiple side-by-side rows with each row comprising multiple brush units. A dye-holding pan has multiple open-top receptacles for holding hair dye. The receptacles are arranged in a pattern that allows brush units in each of multiple rows to be inserted into the receptacles on a basis of only one dye-holding unit to one receptacle.

Abstract: A hair styling device includes an integrated elastic loop, at least one spacer, and at least one fastener. The elastic loop includes a pair of elastic cord portions. The spacer has two spaced through-holes internally, and a middle passage is formed between and communicates the through-holes. The elastic cord portions of the elastic loop, which penetrates the spacer, are held in the through-holes of the spacer, and the elastic loop is spaced into a first loop and a second loop. The middle fastener penetrates the middle passage of the spacer to separate the elastic cord portions in the spacer and resists the elastic cord portions to allow the elastic cord portions to be securely held in the spacer. The hair styling device also provides a creation method of the hair styling device.

Abstract: A device for maintaining a lock of hair such as a dreadlock is provided. The device comprises a housing encasing a motor activated by a controller. A grooming element for encasing the dreadlock is rotatably situated within the housing. The housing comprises a clamping mechanism for securing the device to the dreadlock. Once the dreadlock is secured by the clamping mechanism, the grooming element rotates around the dreadlock to integrate new hair growth into the dreadlock. The grooming element comprises a plurality of trimming components for removing any excess hair that did not integrate into the dreadlock.

Abstract: A single pair of pliers for bending orthodontic arch wires in all quadrants of a patient's mouth. Includes first and second actuating members, each including a handle portion for grasping in the hand, and a head portion that projects at an angle. The actuating members are pivotally joined so that the head portions can be moved toward and away from each other into respective closed and open positions. A first occlusal jaw on head portion of the first actuating member has an internally angled channel profile and a second occlusal jaw on the head portion of the second actuating member also has an internally angled channel profile facing the other internal channel. A gingival jaw member having upper and lower externally angled corners is adapted to mate with the internally angled profiles of the upper and lower occlusal jaws, respectively, when the head portions are in the closed position.

Abstract: A headband including an elastic glitter ribbon, a top portion of which forms the outside of the headband, where the elastic glitter ribbon has a 360-degree glitter pattern. The headband further includes a stretch velvet ribbon, a bottom portion of which forms the inside of the headband. The elastic glitter ribbon is attached to the stretch velvet ribbon using a stretch and stitch method. The ends of the elastic glitter ribbon and the stretch velvet ribbon are connected to form a 360-degree elastic headband, where the top of the elastic glitter ribbon includes material that sparkles, and where the bottom of the stretch velvet ribbon includes a velvet-like material that forms a gripping portion. The outside of the headband includes a 360-degree view of the sparkles with no break. The inside of the headband includes 360-degree gripping portion with no break.

Abstract: A device for cleaning the mouth or teeth has a rod-shaped support, on one axial end of which an interdental cleaner made of a flexible plastic is arranged. A brush-like cleaning part made of a flexible plastic, and having a plurality of protruding cleaning elements, is arranged at the opposite axial end of the rod-shaped support. In addition, the rod-shaped support has a grip portion made of a flexible plastic and arranged preferably in the central area of the axial length of the rod-shaped support. Provision is made that the grip portion is connected, via at least one connecting portion, to the interdental cleaner and/or to the brush-like cleaning part so as to form a one-piece structure.

Abstract: Hair additions and their methods of construction are set forth. A hair addition according to one embodiment includes a plurality of hair strands having upper and lower ends, at least two threads coupling the upper ends together, and two layers of polyurethane sandwiching the hair strand upper ends and the at least two threads. The two layers of polyurethane form a strip, and at least one clip is coupled to the strip. It may be desirable for a diameter of the strip to be no more than 25%-50% greater than a diameter of the hair strands. A method of formation includes: aligning a plurality of hair strands; coupling an end of the hair strands together using thread; sandwiching the coupled end of hair strands and the thread between two layers of polyurethane; curing the two layers of polyurethane; and coupling at least one clip to the cured polyurethane.

Abstract: The present device relates to a dryer for curling eyelashes. The dryer according to the present device may prevent a user from being burned and also has a novel structure that effectively curls the eyelashes. Since the dryer for curling the eyelashes indirectly heats the eyelashes by using air heated by a heater 20, the dryer may prevent eyes or skin of the user from being burned and may also heat the eyelashes at an adequate temperature to effectively curl the eyelashes.

Abstract: A removal system for sewn-in hair extensions, hair weaves, hair augmentation, and wigs is disclosed. This invention solves issues with respect to facile removal and scalp irritation caused by such extensions through the use of methods using dissolvable thread and dissolving agent, with optional added antipruritic and anti-itch properties or by adding a separate antipruritic agent. The dissolvable thread may be used to either secure hair extension wefts to a wearer's hair or in conjunction with a hair weft constructed of the same dissolvable material comprising the thread.

Abstract: A fastening device that is adjustable in length and diameter and which is visually attractive is provided. The device can be easily positioned about a wearer's hair and fastened thereabout, and is resistant to creeping down a hair bundle. The device comprises a body component having first and second ends with end connectors thereon for connecting the first and second ends together to form a cylindrical shape that can be positioned about a hair bundle. A plurality of body components can be connected to each other to form a hair fastening device of a desired length. An end component can be attached to the body component, and can optionally be adjusted in diameter.

Abstract: A dental system comprises a dental prophy angle and an adjustable angle adapter. The prophy angle includes a housing and a guard with a concave inner surface. The adapter is configured to drive the prophy angle and the adapter includes a body, a nose, and an outer joint. The nose is configured to receive a portion of a prophy angle. The body is adjustably connected to the nose. The outer joint includes a ball portion connected to the nose, and a ball receiver positioned on the body. The ball receiver includes a first portion coupled to a first end of the body and a second portion attachable to the first portion. The nose is rotatable relative to the body into at least a first configuration and a second configuration. The concave inner surface of the guard engages a convex outer surface of the ball receiver.

Abstract: A device and method for braiding hair or other flexible filaments is disclosed herein. The device comprises a set of gears comprising sector gears and elliptical gears, the elliptical gears having a hollow center portion for receiving the hair or other flexible material. The device further comprises a controller, a motor, a power source, and a user interface. The user interface allows the user to select a variety of weaving patterns. The device and method of the present disclosure may be employed to weave four or more strands of material into a braid.

Abstract: A multi-purpose dental bib, to be worn by a patient during a dental procedure, may incorporate gauze pads into windows and/or pockets integral to the bib. The multi-purpose dental bib may be employed to protect the patient's clothing from liquid and/or solid debris generated during a dental procedure, and to wipe the patient's face and mouth during or at the completion of a dental procedure. The multi-purpose dental bib may additionally be employed to clean dental tools, such as a dental mirror, during a dental procedure by means of the gauze pads incorporated into the windows and/or pockets strategically located on the multi-purpose dental bib.
