  • Patent number: 11786813
Abstract: A game of skill played simultaneously by several players whereby each participant effectively competes only against players having a similar skill tier to provide a better opportunity to win awards. The system includes a central computer system with each remote participant having a mobile device such as a cell phone. The system also provides for effective promotion or updating to a higher skill tier of successful players of the game. Each skill tier adds complexity which increase point potentials. The game play is relatively easy initially, permitting new users to enjoy success in the game. As the user becomes more skilled and reaches higher tiers prizes increase and game elements become more challenging thus motivating continued play while retaining a player's interest. While players are able to view all scores including those in higher tiers, they will know that players in other tiers had more opportunities to earn points.

  • Patent number: 11756369
Abstract: A method of generating a graphical user interface for horse race betting includes querying a database to obtain race data associated with a selected race, the race data including a list of horses scheduled to run the selected race, a track surface associated with the selected race, and a distance of the selected race. For each horse from among the list of horses, the method may include selecting a rating corresponding to the horse, the track surface, and the distance, the rating being selected from a plurality of ratings quantifying an expected performance of the horse for different combinations of track surface and distance and being derived from data associated with a sire and/or a dam of the horse. The method may include displaying the list of horses and displaying the selected ratings in association with the horses.

  • Patent number: 11717748
Abstract: A trained machine learning model(s) is used to determine scores indicative of probabilities that certain types of user input will be provided to a player's game controller while playing a video game in order to compensate for latency between player action and player perception of video game content relating to the player action. In an example process, sensor data received from a client machine and/or game state data received from a video game is provided as input to a trained machine learning model(s), and a score as output therefrom, the score relating to a probability that a type of user input will be provided to a player's game controller. In this manner, game control data corresponding to the type of user input can be generated based on the score and provided to the video game as input before actual game control data is even received, thereby compensating for latency.

  • Patent number: 11701593
Abstract: A client device associated with a player of a location-based game detects client devices associated with other players which are within proximity of the player device. This detection of other player client devices may result in various game actions occurring, such as an exchange of game elements between players, game progress for a player, access to a game feature, or establishing a connection between players. Detection of player devices may be performed using personal area network devices of the client devices, such as Bluetooth. Proximity detection can occur when player client devices are disconnected from an online system hosting the location-based game with the detection later being reported to the online system by one or both devices.

  • Patent number: 11699329
Abstract: Example embodiments relate to predicting aspects of an unknown event. A system may involve an electronic device communicatively coupled to a server. The server may provide a set of possible parameters relating to an unknown event to the electronic device. The electronic device may enable a user to select predicted parameters via a user interface and may further transmit the predicted parameters to the server. The server may generate a combination from the set of possible parameters to use to retrieve a pre-recorded event and transmit the event to the electronic device for display to the user. The server may also compare the predicted parameters to the generated parameters to determine a result and provide the result to the electronic device for display to the user.
